Not trying to be a hater here. But instant noodle is meant to be more convenient than the other food mentioned above so should be made at home instead of paying for someone to cook. Even fries are difficult to make to MacDonalds quality. What I see different here is the variety of ways to prepare the noodle which I think is the selling point.

@solarmoth46284 жыл бұрын
French fries is a bit more labour intensive to prepare than a package of noodles. I know these require a bit more steps than your classical brands like "Mama" but I suppose if you allowed it to steep it would be just as edible as any other instant noodles. Those other ingredients can be easily dehydrated if you have time.

@eile42194 жыл бұрын
@@eile4219 clearly you fail to acknowledge the logistical requirements of these two dishes. One can easily be obtained from a hot water dispenser or a tap and microwave; the other requires a deep fryer which aren't exactly in most places of work unless it's a fast food restaurant or any type of eatery. Again, as the name implies, instant noodles are by design meant to be easy to prepare. I suppose if you were desperate enough you could microwave your frozen french fries but I rather go hungry.

So water needs to rise to cook ramen and other ingredients such as eggs. But with this stove its getting heat from the sides as well. You can notice how water sizzles in the pot walls right after adding ramen cake.

This lady can do whatever. If it sells, let her sell it, but the two examples you gave are awful examples. If you ever cooked anything, you would know frying stuff is a pain to deal with the oil during clean up and making thin crepes is hard without having the proper tools. Moreover, the prep is much more time consuming with creating the batter for a crepe. Instant noodles is what I go to when I don't want to make any effort with cooking. It's something I can do in 5 min, prep/cooking/cleanup, unlike fried food or crepes that has a much longer prep or clean up, which is why I think people are baffled at why people would order something like this when the bar for making it yourself is as low as cooking gets.

When you're out running errands and just busy, cold, and hungry, and then you come across this little stand with a kind little lady selling hot, freshly made instant ramen for 2 bucks, with sides, and zero clean up for yourself after? Hell YES, I'd buy a bowl. Happily. That's cheaper than any fast food where I live, and far tastier and satisfying. And far less hassle for me, even with it being instant. Just saving myself from cleaning dishes is worth it. And ramen in Korea (in many eastern countries) is not the same as ramen in western countries. It is serious business, not a trash food, and a highly beloved meal, with many different ingredients and iterations. It may be instant ramen, but there is nothing instant about the additions she's putting into it, and the flavors she's building with those additions.

Wow! That looks so yummy! If i ever see this woman’s stand, I’m definitely going to order from her 🤤💗🔥😀
People please stop talking about how you can make this at home. We all know you can make this at home, this lady knows you can make it home, but you are not at home! If you fancy some ramen then order it.
sabbage100 people are forgetting the entire concepts of restaurants. Like yeah you can make something cheap at home (like tacos instead of Taco Bell or hamburgers instead of McDonald’s) but this is for convenience and NOT HAVING TO MAKE IT
It's funny because you can make your own french fries, hamburger, sandwich, coffee, fried rice etc by yourself yet people still go to Cafe, McDonald's etc lol
Yeah You could still make “everything at home” whether it be pasta, pizza , sushi the point of going to a restaurant is that u DONT WANT TO MAKE IT AT HOME
I see this poor lady have some haters they cannot cook like her definitely but blessings to her cause some people dont no better they just know how to be rude and hateful ugh .where is the love
Apparently the people who criticises has no sense of cultural at all. It is really common in Korea for vendors to sell ramen. Be respectful and stop being so arrogant.
It's exactly because it's so common there that it feels stranger. It would make sense here, since there's not many better alternatives, but over there? You can find a ramen shop that sells ramen 10x better on practically every street corner
It's normal in Indonesia too! We have many stores that sell instant noodles, with tons of toppings selection.
Japanese is better
Its just the same as a hot dog stand or a hamburger joint. And nobody complains about those not being made from scratch

Sometimes,I just skip lunch to save money ,lol,or I used buy a small juice box and a small bun, instead of going to the college canteen or the restaurant nearby
true wish there was in philippines too
People realize that this is no different then going out and ordering french fries. It takes like 5 minutes to reheat frozen french fries and chicken nuggets yourself yet you still order them at mcdonald’s because it’s convenient and sometimes you’re craving it while you’re not home.
French fries is a bit more labour intensive to prepare than a package of noodles. I know these require a bit more steps than your classical brands like "Mama" but I suppose if you allowed it to steep it would be just as edible as any other instant noodles. Those other ingredients can be easily dehydrated if you have time.
French fires is much easier. I worked at burger King long time ago. You just put them into oil, some salt if the customer wants it.
The Yellow Cursor I mean I just heat up the frozen ones in the oven, It requires me to push like 2 buttons, it’s not that labor intensive, They don’t taste any different to me?
I 100% agree with your comment. The difference between french fries and ramen is that Koreans love ramen. There's so many different flavors of ramen available in Korea and it's often a craving. They have ramen making stations in Korea as well. So for those people dissing this lady and saying that fries are harder to make than ramen don't understand the cultural aspect of ramen in Korea.
Petition to have this at every college/university campus.
Please for the love of god

I'd also like to point out how despite that stove being super powerful, this wonderful lady has measured the water just right each time so it never boils over. No doubt the amount of water is just right so that it's tasty and not diluted or too salty as well. She even times it down to the second so it doesn't overcook the noodles. That's precision, that's professionalism, and that's why it's a viable business and not something to look down on!
Joshua Kwok agreed! She is amazing!
@@jenniferbrowning929 8
I think the stove is powerful for two reasons. One, quick service. Two, good looking and well tasting ramen. With lesser stove the pot would be hotter at bottom. So water needs to rise to cook ramen and other ingredients such as eggs. But with this stove its getting heat from the sides as well. You can notice how water sizzles in the pot walls right after adding ramen cake.
Ahh yes! Every time I feel like the water will boil over I get anxious but she’s calm and knows it won’t. Much respect

In indonesia, it is called as "warkop", a place that provides instant noodles and instant coffee as their main menu. You can make them at home of course, but trust me, their instant noodles and instant coffee are more delicious than what we cook at home
my grandmother worked in a warkop when she went to "merantau" and she said some warkop made their instant noodles with sambal, that's why it tastes so wonderful

Setuju, entah kenapa mie buatan sendiri ga begitu enak di banding mi di warkop. I think the sambal goreng on Warkop make the taste so different than cooking by self.
are people actually getting mad at this? y'all do know it specifically says KOREAN street food. it's 1) cheap and filling meal and 2) a pretty reasonable business. a lot of koreans (especially students, the working class, and young adults) live off of instant ramen so it makes sense for some people to make a business out of making instant ramen.
To be fair, people who are living off ramens are not going to food stalls for it, they re making it at home But hey, business is you sell whatever sells, give the people what they want

Why is it so satisfying to watch someone make instant noodles?
I'm the same way. It relaxes me to watch Asian cooking because it's an art form to me.
Was just thinking 'oh, the things you can do with packet noodles ' I think I am doing well to get a half decent amount of veg in the pot
What u see on this video is definetly not an art. Its just cooking instant noodle with some veggies...
Because instant noodles help feed a huge part of the world? Because the number of people starving to death actually dropped a LOT after their invention. Because feeding people is one of the most basic social tasks ever.

One of those packs of ramen is around 1.69 in the states and that's not including everything she put in it. It's well worth the money.
@@muffindude2087 His point still stands tho "it's worth the money." The packet of noodles is probably almost half of the price of meal cost (in America/Canada), along with the other toppings, the convenience of it ends up costing like a dollar, which is a lot cheaper than the cost of convenience everywhere else.
Ran Cheng plus you don’t have to do the cleaning
@@muffindude2087 I think it depends. I don't think making crepes is hard once you make them a few times. All I really need for that is a frying pan and a knife/fingers. People will find different things hard. But It's still nice to get food one enjoys outside of ones home.
No body can change my mind, I love Ramen in any way

I all can cook ramen, but I all agree when someone else cook for us, it tastes super delicious and no research can prove it why
It's true. Either they add more spices or more topping.
@@exterra9785 even the exact same, just what in the package, without any additional broth or seasoning or toppings, DOES taste better. It's a mystery
Some little shops will add Sambal to their spicy noodles, and that goes a long way. Not having to clean up dishes after, is another perk.
True
I believe the act of feeding another person, even if it's paid for, is an expression of caring, compassion, and acknowledgment. It is outside affirmation of your own existence. That makes everything better.

I just love the way that she takes so much care in making the noodles and while serving it. If I ever go to Korea, I will be sure to visit her.
Me too
😍💯
Aww same here! I give my support to her 🤗❤
People saying they can make it at home 🙄 This is a self treat! If you’re out and suddenly craving for ramen, it’s available for you! If you are a student who is so tired and just wanna sit and eat, this is available for you! (Well, in korea not here in America 🤣 ) I wish we have one here! Especially when it’s winter!! Ugh! I’ll be sooo willing to pay and will treat myself! (Well if corona is not Kill joy 🙄)
Imagine you are craving ramen when you out but far from home, should you go back home just to make ramen? Lol. But here in my country we have people sell cooked instant noodles (not exactly like korean ramen as korean ramen are expensive here where i live), personally I ate those when I'm out of home and stranded somewhere and it's raining, especially cooked instant noodles tends to be cheaper than other menu lol
@@rchrch4922 some vendors just directly in front of the Chem department at school sell instant stuff, too. Noodles (which you could totally cook at the dorm but don't). Hardboiled egg (ditto). And maybe some fried foods, too.
True! I wish we had this on campus.
i love how she's so organized and always cleaning everything and not letting any mess around

Try using whole milk instead of water. If you use skim milk, I am not responsible for that. Boil the noodles until almost done in water and drain. Now boil the milk with seasonings and veggies of your choice, and add noodles. Thank me later.

Such a cozy Ramen shop, makes the food taste even better
the comfort it brings just watching her make it all
What's funny is she's not hiding the fact that she's making it out of the package and sells it cheaply with soul vs if you go in a restaurant, they charge you 3x more from a cheaper ramen brand behind the kitchen without love.
Idk about cheaper since you can get the exact same ramen 5 in a pack for a 1.50 where i live.....i would say its for lazy folks who don't wanna cook for themselves even though you can have the same experience at home with leftovers for much much less...but hey im not downing her hustle shes just taking advantage of the lazy.
