@@Nfamus_Kiwi In this video, the car had an Eagle/Wiseco bottom end. The head had stock springs and Web cams. That's it. Just a remanufactured head I got from Pepboys....lol. It now has Wiseco HDs with Howard Ultimate rods. The head now has GSC S3s with Kiggly valvetrain and the Kiggly HLA. Stock head though.

Do you have 1/4 times and mph? Or an estimate of what It will do with that much HP? Secondly, have you considered switching to an automatic AWD transmission?

Low 11s and 140mph. 5 speed problems. I have considered auto swapping it. It may happen...

@@diambo4life awesome. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm planning on doing a stroked 2.3, Manley Rods and pistons, 100mm crank. Heads already been ported/polished..oversized valves, BC springs and titanium retainers, 264/264 cams because I swapped and automatic into it.. FP exhaust, and HTA68 turbo. I'm going to work over a cyclone intake I've got with the butterfly valves controlled by ECMlink V3. IPT 3800 stall converter, forced four shift box, IPT shift kit, front mount intercooler, 780cc injectors. I have no idea what it will make HP wise? Any thoughts or recommendations?? Thanks

Sorry, just seeing your reply. That combo will be very good with an auto. Dyno numbers will not be high due to the auto but should run mid 10s effortlessly.

Question for ya, how many 5 speeds have you gone through at that hp? Really hard to get honest answers or just people with actual experience dealing with these transmissions at high hp. Much appreciated

In this car? Numerous...somewhere between 5-10. A good average is a transmission a year IF the car is running. I have owned it for 10 years.

@@diambo4life yeah in that car or just vr4 trans in general, looking at a vr4 with 430 to the wheels with an unopened trans. I was wondering if you could shed any light on to how it will handle it on the streets with no launching and treating it well, I know many people at that power level with no issues. Just looking for extra info. Thanks

@@roboduck9760 It will handle just fine. We just ask too much from these transmissions. If you intend to launch it a lot I would definitely do a welded center diff or some sort of 4 spider upgrade. If you look at my channel, I had a pretty quick 1G back in the day that was my daily and that had a stock trans unmodified and it lived a long life....relatively speaking, I mean...if you launch the car at every light, the trans will die quickly.

It runs good. I just refreshed the bottom end a month ago. I don't like the clutch in it so I'm hoping to get a twin disc in it sometime this year. I have a 1G GSX I'm collecting parts for that will probably be raced more than this VR4. It's still on the same setup. I think only major thing I changed is it has a SMIM & GSC S3 cams. Different wheels too.
