You talked about Tengens sword but you got a mini version of it. It's actually wayyyy bigger than the one you got since Tengen is a ginormous 7 foot flamboyant muscular giant
He's 6'6
@@amdfenom2875 Same thing tbh. He still towers over almost everyone but thanks for the correction
@@VotingHarmony yeah, Gyomei is the 7'0 hashira
@@VotingHarmony Tengen's pretty tall but I'm sure that Gyomei is taller tho
@@adamgarcia3950 Well yeah Gyomei towers over everyone. He's a monster for being that tall
Shinobu doesn't really rely on her blade to actually sever limbs or heads though, nor does she really block with it because of how thin it is. She only needs to make a quick little knick on your skin and you're done for since she uses poison.
Inoskai's sword is definitely more brutal since the teeth on the sword will cause more jagged wounds making it harder for doctors to treat not to mention the amount of bacteria that's on his sword (he doesn't clean his blade) would cause horrible infection. So if the opponent gets away they'll die over time from their injuries.
i didnt know there was a character called inoskai
@@blazinghero2041 the guy with the boar head mask sorry I'm not a weeboo and Don't know how to spell their names.

@@angryfoxzd5233 Inosuke, you don't need to be a weeb to know how to spell the name, im pretty sure they show the names in the anime 😂
irl, the sword would get stuck inside the person you're fighting with, and also it would be easier for the other person to block your attacks. i dont know about you, but I prefer getting my arm jagged by inosuke than having it cut off by someone with a normal katana. and if you don't regularly clean any kind of katana, it will lead to rust, not "infection damage"
To be fair, shinobu's sword isn't really built to be used like an actual sword, she just uses poison
hers is, at least how I see it, a rapier
Indeed
I always wondered why didnt she just use a rapier
The main reason these actually are practical is cause they have supernatural strength. So Uzui actually has the strength to swing the swords around.
Yeahhh, the moment he grabbed the blade by the tip when fighting against Gyaturo proved it.
I think you meant superhuman. They don't even quality for supernatural

I can swing the swords mini katana sells around. And I am a child but I did need a bigger chain.
I wonder how battle ready they actually are. Might take one out for testing against actually war swords. Like Albion, Kastua, Todd's Workshorp etc.
Not sure about the steel quality. Divots on an inward curved sword is fundamentally a bad idea. I wouldn't want a blade of that style catching on armor or body parts.
They say their best is 1095 but they don't say jack about the temper just "clay temper" nor the hardness. Sooooo I wouldn't trust em, they are also a California company. A state not known for its honesty so frankly when they say 1095 they could mean a 1095 jacket and yes that's actually cheap to get but it makes a piss poor blade.
They aren't actually battle ready like they proclaim to be. These people use cartoon logic.
@@drzaius8430 lol, so true.
I think they did for inosukes sword
Skallagrim described serrated weapons best. “The sawing may look impressive and nasty but a regular sharp blade will cut much deeper.” Also, if your opponent is wearing even cloth armour, forget about it. They’re safe.

Tengens swords are usable. The notch is for bombs and when he clashes them together they make explosions. Plus I bought these swords and I can spin them just like Tengen can and it took me days of practice and the notch in the sword can catch other blades so yes. It is definitely usable.

the biggest problem with inosuke's sword is he literally broke the blade to be like that. it's much more likely to break now
Thanks for the info japanson mediton
Shinobu’s sword is actually meant to thrust instead of slicing, so as to inject poison
yes, they would be "usable", but for cutting an apple. most of these swords compared with normal swords would be useless in a real fight

Those massive groves would make that first sword almost useless assuming your opponent is wearing clothes as the fabric would get hooked on the groves
As a defensive sword held in the offhand, it would be decent. One normal one groved.
3:08 her sword was inspired but a indian weapon called a urumi and what she said is not exactly what its used for its more like a wip but instead of leather its a blade that is razor sharp (it takes over 11 years of training to use it without getting your self cut )

the fast that inosukes blade doesnt have a hand guard is danerous

He is used to it lol
Tbf his fighting style is one of a berserker, meaning he needs to be pressing the attack constantly. His blade and breathing style reflect that heavily.
The hand gaurd on most katanas are basically useless aswell
@@AstralJustus thats cap, Guards prevent your hand/hands from slipping onto the blade and can act as a form of hand protection dont talk about something you dont know
Shinobu and Inosuke's swords peeved me a lot. Yes, serrated blades can do nasty cuts even through tough marterials, but they tend to clog up or get stuck. Thus, they are unlikely to cut deep. Shinobu's sword would get stuck with every thrust. You could fix this by using a small spearhead, but the curve of the long, blunt section of the blade is not ideal and the same goes for the grip. Estoc and boar hunting sword are probably the closest real life examples.
Shinobu's sword in the show wasn't ever really used for fully cutting. Since it's laced with poison its explained that she only ever really grazes and makes small surface cuts just to inject the poison. Which with a light blade would be a perfect application
someone figured out how fast they are moving and it wouldn't matter with how fast they are moving, they can literally move faster than any human can react to in real life, it wouldn't be difficult to get a sword out when you can move the sword at above 1000 mph
I feel shinobu could’ve had some arrows or something considering she’d be allow you cause she’s a hashira
But Shinobu's sword is meant only for poking/stabing (it applies a poison) and inosuke's is meant for shredding
@@echo3568 she doesn’t have the strength to pull back a bow
bro this is SICK AF! i would like to see actual professions fight using these swords. maybe spin a wheel to determine what sword they get
The tengen swords were made specifically for his sound/boom style and are thus realistic to his world but in real life they'd simply be decoration or ceremonial swords that just so happen to be sharp enough and heavy enough to behead someome.
imagine if tengen wants to cut someone's hang but accidentally hits the guy with the circle part without blades lol
@@LuisKalashnikovv yeah the guy would get his wind pipe crushed because of how hard tengen can swing.

The problem with Inosuke’s swords isn’t the serrations, and it’s only partly the way that he put them in, seriously he just picked up a rock and started bashing the blade. He did it after it had been quenched and tempered.
And yet he still made such perfectly lined up breaks with an inward slant. Logic 😆
@@Patchyclaw anime logic.
The indents on Tengen’s sword are actually to deflect bomb and decease the impact on his self
2:54 Fun fact the owner of that sword doesn’t have enough upper buddy strength to slash or cut so she made her sword like that to do quick thrusts like a rapier
Tengens swords are way to small they're technically supposed to be about the same length as tanjiro when together Edit individually 1,1 meters in the manga
They looked so short in this video😆
This is Real life and not anime If they did That i feel like alot of people will struggle using it. The person who reply to me talks about uzui like its a real person 😂
@@commentmanilikemdansc8550 but the swords aren't designed for "alot of people", they're designed for Uzui alone. If Uzui with all his feats was irl, he would be able to do a lot of the things that he does in the anime (just without the effects of Sound Breathing)
The way Tengen uses the chain between the swords when he grabs one of the blade's tips is cool
I love how here she finds everything useful otherwise any other video of this sort I always find the reviewers saying the weapons from any anime are useless
I loved this, wanted to add a little bit of defense for the oddness of some weapons, and that is that ancient japanese warriors actually used a bunch of different kind of weapons depending on their fighting style, so their practicality truly depends on the user. Tengen's reminds me of a personalized Kusarigama or Kyoketsu-Shoge. Kanroji's is very weird but it wouldn't surprise me that is inspired by Urumi, which is an ancient (200 bc probably) indian 'sword'. Yea it is indian but well it's been portrayed in anime before (Samurai X), and also it wouldn't surprise me that it could have traveled all the way from India to Japan, because Yoga did as well through time too, as did Buddhism So yeah weird weapons of course but it all depends on fighting styles.
Losing My Identity Wondering "Have i Gone Insane?"
You cannot use those swords effectively because you didn't master the breathing techniques. LOL
you should do the mortal blade from sekiro.
The indents in tenges blades might be spots to grab the weapon when swinging the other one on the chain since having the grip strengh to just grab the blade on the end like tengen did might be unpractical. Notice that the indents have no blade and are deep enough to be grabbed without too much risk of hurting yourself
I always felt Tengen's swords would be so cumbersome for the big swings he does, and would often mean he only uses the tips, so that gets dull very quickly while the bottom barley gets used But it's all pretty much explained as "he's just that good, he can use them like that no problem"
I mean there's legitimate reasons why that just doesn't matter much. 1) We don't know how strong scarlet ore and scarlet iron sand are as a material. Yes, the blade will still become more dull the more it's used but this will probably happen extremely slowly due to the material likely being stronger than metal currently used in sword creation and considering the slayers have at the very least 12 hours of time during which they have no duty as attacking demons would be burnt to a crisp by daylight, that gives them more than enough time to go to the swordsmith village and get their blade refurbished if the need is present 2) Uzui is one of the strongest slayers in the entire organisation, both physically and (I will have my head bitten off by saying this) in skill. The manga describes him as the second physically strongest of all hashira (second only to Gyomei), and as having swings so fast and strong, the friction from his blows causes explosions. As for the skill part of it, he has some amazing feats and abilities, such as Shinobi training (even being one of the best Shinobi of his clan, as he accidentally killed his siblings when put in a fight to the death with them by his parents), creating his own breathing style to suit him, and creating the musical score technique (which literally predicts the enemy's moves as they make them) and his ability to use 2 blades chained together, all of which he used when missing a hand and being severely poisoned. If Uzui got a slayer's mark etc. he would have become one of the strongest hashira of the entire organisation. Also every slayer's weapon is taillored specifically to them. You can't exactly evaluate it as being a good weapon for most people, you have to specifically look at their sword style and how the weapon suits it.
when tengen was fighting against gyotaro he extended his sword lenght by gripping onto the blade with his 2 fingers and letting the chain extend the other one further out which surprised gyutaro
You could actually do a video of carrying your katanas or even Cosplay as It on public It would very cool yo see
1:55 it's true. Filipino Martial Arts deals a lot with blades. But the flexible weapons platforms (as in chains, belts, and other improvised flexible weapons) do exist in FMA. I won't say it's practical with that particular weapon though. The longest I'd want with a flexible weapon would be a dagger lol
Inosukes sword “definitely gonna rip and…tear” *Doom music intensifies*
I could see Inosuke's sword being difficult to sharpen
you would prolly only get one swing as well , no way that's chopping thru flesh and bone and not getting stuck.
Tengen weapon was far bigger than what she’s holding
Re: blade flexibility helping create hits? I agree in a sense. It's important however to remember that hits don't cause damage with a sword. Especially not with an Urumi-like whipsword. Cuts and thrusts do. And a blade twisting and whipping around like that has basically no edge alignment or stiffness. If they are wearing heavy clothing they may not even bleed when hit by the flat of something like that. Which is likely because if it's over a few degrees off, it will be unstable and slap against the target instead of slicing through them. So the sword bending around the target and still hitting them doesn't necessarily mean it actually causes damage with those hits. Just that it scores points in a competition. Especially given that most strikes are not hitting naked skin but something between a T. shirt (likely to prevent an Urumi style weapon from causing quite the same level of damage) and a case-hardened steel plate (likely to completely nullify any sword cut ever rendering something like an Urumi as useful in combat as a wet noodle).
The tengen sword chain is way thicker than the replica's
I think you are forgetting that that butterfly girls sword has poison on it.(potent against demons)

@@-denmaki- why not lubricate it yourself?
tengen built different for chaining his swords
Those 90-120 degree corners on several of these would definitely get caught on clothing and stronger tissue and cause it to bunch up. I think the first one would make really nasty looking gashes but they would be much shallower than an actual sword slash delivered with the same force. Anyone who's ever cut any sort of fibrous material with a blade can tell you that ripping slows the blade down way more than cutting. Any time you have to resort to using a blade to rip instead of cut, it may as well be dull because you're pulling on the bulk of the material instead of a microscopic section. So no, instead of "super deadly" large pointed serrations would make the blade very bad at passing through anything that isn't buttery soft. Which is worse? Having a few gashes in your leg and getting your pants hooked on the enemy's weapon, largely disabling both the leg and the weapon, or having your leg cut clean off and the weapon headed at your chest within 1 second afterward?
Tengen’s sword are supposedly 4ft long so it would be crazy heavy but scary lol
And he swings them with so much speed and power that they actually cause explosions due to the friction. Imagine fighting someone who has 2 swords longer than half your body length swinging them around so fast they cause explosions just by touching something.
2:32 while it is most commonly said that a katana is primarily used with two hands it is actually genuinely pretty easy to learn one armed movements with practice, I'm underweight and use my left hand for my uchi-gatana even tho it's not my primary, and I can accurately aim it an the wakizashi with just one hand each, but this is to each their own as well! They should have done iguros katana
Not gonna lie, I feel like Mary is not critical of the weirder nichirin blade designs. Say shinobu’s sword for example. While the tip of the blade is a barb that is designed to be reminiscent of honeybee stingers, it is a likely downfall in actual combat where the barb just increases the likelihood of the sword just getting stuck in the enemies’ body. I mean, it is really deadly for sure when you combine that with shinobu’s poison, but you can’t just leave your sword stuck forever in one enemies’ body when you have multiple targets right? Even if you are talking about demons they seem to take quite some time to disintegrate lol. Maybe change the title to: how deadly are the nichirin blades
Shinobu is fighting demons that have superhumanly durable skin. The tip might not ever pierce that deep into the demon to get stuck given she's only stabbing to poison them.
Lol to be fair the chain he has vs the chain there are VERY different lol
