  • I feel like Skull is really growing as an artist after hearing this one. It's so different from his usual stuff and constantly changes. Was always kept on my toes during the verses and hooked on the chorus. Plus Harry did a fantastic job with the animation. Great job JT! Keep killing it my friend!

  • im a huge music theory nerd and something about the melodies in these songs… there’s a really interesting use of minor and major chords behind a phrase that keeps the same melody in the sung verse and it scratches my brain. also the ascending pre chorus adds so much tension right before the drop UGHHH im obsessed

  • _"All the bread you brought home has a price,"_ meaning your work/income has consequences. My favourite line in this song! In the lore, the man who created _Amanda The Adventurer_ brought in his daughter Rebecca to play the character. People involved with the show tricked Rebecca into summoning demons, leading to her possession, and her father 'disappeared' because of his opposition. And he's probably Wooly.

    • ​@Scarifar1 I honestly think the father is the barn, it's heavily implied that all the eyes we see in the show are souls of humans in the "A Fateful End" ending (the one where you go downstairs and end up in the butcher shop), and the barn is the only set of eyes that are bloodshot, suggesting that it's somehow doing worse than all the other souls. The barn also breathes harder the longer the scene goes on as Amanda talks about "Daddy Chickens", and looks at you when you put the father's name into the prompt.

  • "Where the pipers are a-piping, Only one of 'em is pied! For the people that don't know, that is a reference to a story called The Pied Piper which is actually also associated with the company HamelN (or its real name, Hamelin) The Pied Piper is basically a story of a man playing a particular tune to lure out all the rats from a village however when he wasn't getting praised or rewarded for his deeds, he then decided to play a tune for luring children away from the village which is to also add to the fact of why Amanda sang "Why are all the children hiding, and back to the piper lyric ""Only One of them is Pied" which is she is saying that she is basically the Pied Piper out of all the children due to in real life, the children that watch the tapes will suddenly disappear, just like how it is shown when the chorus is happening. Edit: I forgot to add also that the HamelN logo (which is an image of a rat is actually tied with The Pied Piper Story)

  • Having a character in a video about watching tapes subtly reference the game itself and the actual viewer on youtube is such a good fourth wall break. It's clever, but so close to the theme that it fits seamlessly in with everything else. Using that moment to transition into live-action elements in the music video is such a cool visual choice, too.

    • I think the whole section of lyrics could be a big fourth wall break: “You want the story that we didn’t show Is that what for you clicked this video?” A lot of people seek out videos to try to learn more information about the games and find/see the secrets, including these song videos. “Now I know you’re afraid just to ask it Was it tragic? Something demonic or was it magic?” Even now no one really knows the “true lore” of the game, though these three are generally what people accept as one of the answers. Or maybe a bit of all of them. Kinda cool lol

    • There’s a lot of details in the song which makes it worth rewatching. Like during the last chorus, it sounds like male voice meant to represent us sings along when Amanda says “You’re the answer to my call!” Would make sense too, since the whole prior scene was about letting the TV pull us in
