Invisalign is one of the most exciting new treatment modalities in dentistry. It is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile without the need for fixed braces. The treatment, which is suitable for both adolescents and adults, comprises a series of clear aligners that are individually made for your orthodontic requirements.
By changing the aligners every two to three weeks, we gradually move your teeth into alignment. At fist the aligners can feel quite tight (which means the alignment is working), but the process is not actually painful.
The aligners are ideally worn 24 hours a day for 12 to 15 months, which is often shorter than for conventional fixed appliances. They are removed only for cleaning, eating and drinking. Initially speech can be affected in a minor way but this returns to normal after a day or so.
