I've had peripheral neuropathy for over 10 years and have never heard of rediculopathy. After seeing this video I'm sure I have both. Also I had no idea that you could have neuropathy with just being pre-diabetic. This video is hands down the most informative video that I have come across in all these years of research. Thank you so much!
I was diagnosed with the same thing recently! I don’t have diabetes, but they said I have pre diabetes. The ONLY real help I’ve found is STOP eating food that’s full of sugar. And Carbs turns into sugar once it gets into the system. Thus, I’ve gotten 50% better in one week by leaving sugar alone. I’ve had a sweet tooth for years, but I was in too much pain; therefore, I had to find relief. I’ve ended up in emergency twice, and I felt like checking out of life. I’ve lessened by sugar and carbohydrates by 70% and I’m shocked that I’m 50% better. And I lost a little weight, but I must loose more. Sugar and Carbs are my worst enemy, it might be yours as well! And I take at least 2 Celebrex daily. I’m going to add a supplement named Alpha Lipoic Acid and exercise and I believe I’ll can be happy again!! 😊 And no more wanting to check out!!
@@marjorjorietillman856 Thank you so much for your response and you are correct on all accounts! I was doing really well a few years ago going on low carb and no sugar diet then I got back on the sugar train :( I am just now going back to that diet again... I have always worked out due to being under weight. Totally confused the Dr's around here because I don't fit in their box for having the problems I have. It's frustrating. I tried alpha lipoic acid years ago and will try that again as well. The night pain is just so horrible! I use nervive cream and it helps some as well as homemade arnica oil. Thanks again! It helps to know I'm not alone ;)

I have had PN for 25 year and I'm now 68 years old, it is very severe and the pain is bad all the time. I have to wear shorts because trousers are to painful when they touch my skin. I have seen 7 neurologists of which two were professors. It seams to me science knows a lot about PN but not a lot about what can be done. I am not diabetic and don't drink alcohol, I've had nerve release surgery 2 years ago which made the PN worse. I've noticed if I lift something heavy my feet go into horrific pain and then take some days to settle down. I've tried most drugs but with little effect, the only thing a really recommend is walk miles regularly even in pain it gives me a little relief.
Thank you, I'm going to get this checked out!
This woman really knows a lot about neurology!!!!
About 20 years ago the bottoms of my feet felt like leather, after a number of examinations, no one was, able to pinpoint the problem, but eventually went away. About a year ago this sensation returned, along with a burning/tingling sensation, with no significantly loss of nerve activity. Lauter I learned about neuropathy and possible solutions. What has worked for me is a Supplement, alpha lapoic acid, 600mg 3x a day, it pays to get a quality one. I no longer have this burning sensation, but still working on my feet and taking the supplement daily. It may or may not work for everyone. I also had an insulin resistance test, and am clean.
Wonderful explanation! Thank you!

Her presentation is fantastic, I am a diabetic type 2 with leg neuropathy.
Thank you I have been suffering for quite some time now. And I knew it was nerve damage and you have explained it so well. I’m making an appointment with a neurologist
Very good presentation on this subject! The best so far as of all doctors I have been listening to. It’s amazing how I have had the EMG test and yet I still don’t know what happens with the test. The doctor was very vague in his diagnosis. He hardly talked to me and with some of my questions he was so dismissive with his short answers, and declared the test results were normal. I wish I could find a great doctor (neurologist) like her here in Chicago area.👏🤷♂️
This is the best recap I have seen. Thank you. Have had 7 emg tests and have severe sciatica for 2 yrs but all I hear is you have neuropathy and no mention of the other one you described even though I’ve had PAE neck surgery to reduce impingements and suffer with lower back right side pain. Open to ideas
I love this informative video , it’s amazing . Thank you so much .

EMG se pata lagta hai kya neuropathy hai ya nahi ?
Very good video Dr. Alawaz. Thank you
Very good video! Thank you! You mentioned several issues that I have been dealing with for some time. I have had x-rays and will get an MRI of my spine in two weeks. I will ask my neurologist about the rediculopathy specifically, "foot drop[" and the EMG test. Sounds encouraging! I'd call to make an appointment but I live in the Portland, Oregon area so you are a bit too far away! Thanks again for your very informative video!
Good explanation about neuropathy as well radiculopathy, as i have ever seen before this type of video clip, thanks for sharing this useful chapter.

I put needles and staples in to rest my shoulders
Thank you dear lady! You are the absolute best I have ever heard. I hope your superiors understand how good you are!!
Very helpful for my feet burning problem.
Thank you so much for this very informative video.
After seeing several neurologists and two EMG tests, NOBODY ever told me that I CLEARLY have radiculopathy Respectfully, Dr. Ahlawat, physical therapy did NOTHING for me - and as for staying active, that sounds great and makes a great deal of sense, but when you have, as I do, an unsteady gait, and a fear of falling flat on my face, clearly is not viable (and VERY frustrating). At least for me. You suggest that we just have to live with this, which depresses me no end - but I am most grateful to you for a very informative and enlightening discussion.
I feel the same as you. Physical therapy HURTS! Exercise hurts, too. If I just go out to dinner for a couple of hours I need to spend the next day or two in bed to recover. I have idiopathic large and small fiber neuropathy, plus fibromyalgia. I fell and broke my arm recently and I’m now afraid to go out alone. I’m a prisoner in my home. These neurologists don’t know enough about causes or meds that help. Those EMGs are torture, too. I hope you find something that helps your pain. Some people say marijuana helps, but you have to fund the right strain. This and Advil were suggested to me by the “experts” at UCSF. I couldn’t believe it! So, in other words they had nothing to help me and certainly no cure. But Advil? Did they really think that I hadn’t tried Advil in 15 years? I felt insulted! That was one of the first things I tried. It doesn’t touch neuropathic pain, but not much does. Have you gone to a pain specialist? You should try that; they I can give you some stronger medication, ie. opiates, that will take the edge off the pain. Try marijuana, too, it helps some people. If you have trouble sleeping I suggest Ambien. For some reason Ambien reduces my pain tremendously. If I could take it during the day, I would. I guess because it affects the brain it helps. Good luck🙏🏻🤗
Thank you for the most thorough explanation of peripheral neuropathy you have explained everything with excellence and I understood you very well. If I lived in your area, I would definitely come see you for my neuropathy. Thank you so much.😊
That was awesome. I wish you were in Canada. I agree with you regarding physical exercise. Thank you.

I do too. I've been to every kind of Dr but a Neurologist and after seeing this, this is the kind of dr I should have gone to first. So now, I want to get a referral from my PCP to go see one.
I think I have Autonomic neuropathy.
I had neuropathy in my feet and ankles. I had all the tests. The Neurologist does not know what was the cause. I also the podiatrist for horrific foot pain. I wore a boot for two weeks the pain left. I finally bought some barefoot minimalist sandals and some correct toes. My neuropathy is almost completely gone now! I exercise my feet muscles and am thrilled! I found my own answers !
Wow that is wonderful
how long did you have the neuropathy?
What exactly u did
Thank you for your help. Quite informative ,and useful

Your speech helped me
Great video. I developed it after chemotherapy for bowel cancer. Thanks for the most comprehensive explanation and calming fears.
Everything else discussed in detail...love from lndia....
Mine went from the balls of my feet, burning, stabbing & extremely painful, every step was torture & it didn't go to my hands, but instead up to mid hips. A night's sleep & it was better. A few days of rest & it went back to just the balls of my feet, like it'd been for 19 years. I've been at an ideal weight for my height. I've been diagnosed with Lupus that started at 14 & I'm now 73. ☮️💞🙏🏼
Praying for your good health and continued longevity!
Excellent.
Thanks for the info
I like this Dr.she is a good lecturer
So informative, thanks! I’m pre-diabetic and my PCP says my neuropathy is not caused by that. However, my Neurologist said indeed it is. I’ve had EMG/NCV on all 4 extremities and that’s what it showed. It’s nice to hear another specialist say pre diabetes can also cause this. I think many primaries don’t understand this. I wish I knew about this earlier.
Diane I recommend watching Beat Diabetes to learn to completely reverse your Pre diabetes with diet alone...by avoiding refined carbohydrates, sugar, fructose, high glycemic foods, like oat meal, all breads made with wheat, rye or oats. Your neuropathy will stop getting worse once you stop the inflamation caused by your diet. Avoid all seed oils. Beat Diabetes and pre diabetes. It is what you eat and drink.
Vedry imformative now i know what is hqpening to me.
