    • shrimp19921 uh.. yeah it does. You don’t stop fighting until the ref pulls you apart and signals the end of the round, it was originally made as a rule because its hard to hear 10sec clappers and sometimes even the round ending bell. The 10sec clapper is for the ref actually, it’s meant to be a “get in position to split the fighters up” signal.

      @smac919@smac9193 жыл бұрын
    • shrimp19921 watch any fight, after the 10sec clapper, you’ll see the ref point to the clapper, to show he heard it.

      @smac919@smac9193 жыл бұрын
    • Shinigami I’m not talking about referees pointing to clappers. I’m talking about professional fighters intentionally striking their opponent when the bell clearly rang a second prior. Watch any fight, the fighters are almost universally aware and don’t have to be physically restrained unless it’s a potential fight ending barrage. You are wrong.

All you have to do is train to be a pro wrestler, work for numerous promotions, get noticed by the WWE, suffer numerous major injuries while on the road 365 days a year for almost 10 years, become a major financial draw, somehow make friends with Dana White along the way, quit the WWE and be offered a cool million under the assumption that staged pro wrestling and MMA have enough in common that a 40-something year old can obtain a lifetime of training in two years. He was just cannon fodder for Mickey Gall's first pro fight and got paired with Punk because he had the exact same record as him (0-1, a loss to Gall). He hasn't fought after that anyway, and Punk is now a punchline both in MMA and pro wrestling circles (at least Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and Jake Hager have won fights. Even if the fight wasn't exciting in the traditional sense, it was impressive on a technical level seeing Adesanya neutralize Romero's wrestling/grappling advantage, avoid his counters and out of all Romero's opponents in the UFC, Adesanya preformed the best in terms of damage dealt relative to damage received while fighting him. Overall, the fight was a pretty interesting chess match from a technical perspective.

He was starting to let his hands go. May not have won but thats a fight where I think you let it continue based on the fact that he has a chance to win .

    • Yeah, I'm not sure what all the Punk hate is about. It had nothing to do with winning, or even having a chance to win. It was a duck out of water, and the duck had no chance, but he's going to do it anyway. Of course he lost. Who predicted otherwise?
