A Pocket Door Wrench That MAY Work For You: amzlink.to/az0YorQyJplq9
A lot of pocket doors have random size nuts! The best bet is to always look around your house and see if you can find the wrench that came with the door initially. Often times carpenters will put them in a kitchen drawer.

Special thanks to my buddy Justin for his help creating this video!
I'm sure I've said this several times before, but you have a remarkable ability to make perfect-duration videos that contain all the needed info and almost nothing else.
Thanks buddy, it’s a very fine balance not to cut out too much info that could be useful! I spend a lot of time agonizing over it, so I appreciate the comment🍻
That was good to see how pocket doors are adjusted. I know pocket doors are needed in some instances, but they suck. 😂
so crap and annoying lol
This was a great lesson, I’m going to live with the small alignment gap rather than risk making everything worse.
This is exactly the kind of project that makes me insane. It'll take me 5 minutes to get the wrench on the bolt and I'll get one quarter of a turn and then I'm back to another 5 minutes of hunt and poke. My wife will wander into the room and ask enough irritating questions that I'll eventually fling the wrench into the corner of the room and then have to spend the next 10 minutes trying to find it while mumbling obscenities under my breath while my wife berates me for my temper. 😂😂😂
Getting that wrench on the nut is one of the most infuriating things in life!
Maybe need a new wife instead of a new pocket door?
Perfect. I need to install one of these for the first time and having never seen it done or done one before this helps enormously !
Thank you! I needed to take down my doors and I’d never heard of a pocket door wrench! I tried an arsenal of other tools and none would do it. I took to google and KZhead and you saved the day! I got one at Menards and quickly finished the job! Thank you!!!
I liked the bonus tip of how to fix a hole that too big for the screw!!!
Thanks buddy
@The Funny Carpenter. Thank you for the tips on fixing a pocket door that is of its track. Nice to know that in your outtakes, it's still not always easy as it should be. Keeping it real. Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
Thank you very much🍻
Took care of some caulking this week which, every winter, shrinks (It's in the kitchen and on an outside wall) and looks bad. I used all your tips for removing the old caulk, made sure to use Dynaflex 230 and did a nice, neat job. So many tips I've learned from you, despite my many years of DIY experience. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks. Thanks for the great content and please keep it coming.
Thank Doug, glad to hear some of the tips are working out for you🍻
Loved the ending 🤣. Just like things we do fixing our house
I like to think it was the pressure of the video camera😂😂who am I kidding
Love your tips on the finish work. I use them all the time. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
Excellent tutorial as always.
Right on bro, this was just what I needed to get the job done. I was lucky, mine was easier. The entire strip and the top molding piece are all one piece and it's just held in by 2 screws. On this unit, there is also a little plastic lock that snaps the bolt in place after you hook it into the top mount. Much appreciated, my brother, God bless. ~ Pastor Nick702, Blessed Road Ministry
Excellent timing! I have a pocket door in need of some TLC. Thank you for this lesson!
Good luck buddy
I've been putting off fixing my pocket doors forever! Thank you this will make the job easier lol
Best of luck!
I like the outtakes the best! So I know it's not just me! Thanks!
I'm looking forward to your video on squeaky pocket doors! I have one that is hard to open and close and squeals like crazy when being moved. Unfortunately it is access to the kitchen so I can't sneak into the kitchen without the whole household knowing... :)
I will have it done next week
I think the wife likes it that way lol
Fantastic video. After working on these for years I'm convinced it's one of Satan's finest designs. I also love that prybar, I saw it on your link so I'm gonna order that because the one I have is a little too aggressive for trim. Thanks!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the vid I've been looking for. One new subscriber. Edit: extra bonus for the DAP.....Edit Edit: The next video that auto-played reminded me of how invasive some people methods are....I don't drywall. XD Cheers!
Life saver! (Not actually, but at least saved my marriage!)
Thank you for this video.
Thanks for the video. I was one of the lucky ones, and just had to replace a missing screw.
Concise. Nice. Thanks, TFC!
As always excellent!
Thanks buddy
Thank you.
Thanks for watching
🇦🇺 Such great content. I love your channel.🎉😊
Thank you Maria, I always appreciate all the support:)
Roller feel out on the ground....oh my good thing they didn't hit it with the mower and first off how did it get outside anyways?
What is the hardware attached to that sliding door? I have the same on our closets and I'm tryuing to remove them. No idea how to do it.
👍👍👍. Thank you
Thanks mate
The geniuses who installed my pocket doors installed the track so high up into the cavity that you cannot access the brackets or rollers without taking much of the door trim off. They also installed doors that are way too big, both in height and width.
Loved your out take. That is me whenever I do anything.
Best way to fix a pocket door…get rid of it and install a pre hung!😎
Take her down to foundation and start again😂
So I presume to fix my back roller I need to remove the front and reinstall them both?! Fun!! 😵💫🙄
Nice beard..cute
Is this comedy?
Yes
@@TheFunnyCarpenter If I were making it, it would be a tragi-comedy.
I have a French door the wife was frustrated with & busted. It needs to be replaced. Can I just replace the door itself or do I have to replace the hardware as well ?
Hmm I’d guess you could reuse the hardeare
