I think it depends on the consoles, the reason why vehicles were so slow in GTA 5 was because of texture loading, they couldn't make it faster without causing the game to lag, but now that both consoles have NVME ssd's it shouldnt be a problem.

As someone who loves to joyride, I certainly hope that GTA 6's map is not only expansive but also diverse in terrain, from dense city centers, to coastal byways, to wide-stretching interstates, to treacherous mountainside passes, and everything else in between.
Seeing as GTA6 will likely be in Southern Florida domt have high hopes on those mountains

Lets be real. The GTA 5 map is ~70% unused and unusable junk space. It's mountains and water and debris fields and grassy hills that might as well be ice and car blockers/flippers. The towns are ghost towns and the city is a maze of buildings you cannot enter or do anything with. The size of a map means nothing. It's the quality of and content within the map that matters.
True but tbh it still beats out many games like the crew motorfest map, its so empty compared to gta even though its a 2023 game that's basically made for freeroam

Gta 5 was great for a while but after you play it long enough you just see everything that’s wrong with it, I don’t even play gta 5 anymore, the only gta game I play once in a while is gta 4 because everything about it just feels way better to play than gta 5

I don't care how big the map is, i care how interesting it is. Like 60% of gta 5's area is empty hills and mountains. Complete waste of space
For me it's not too much the size of the map. It's more the size of the main city, or it's location related to the center. I feel like the there's not much to do outside of los santos. 2/3 of the map are dedicated to mountains or isolated towns.
I’m hoping there’s mechanics that will allow us to utilize the open map. Like making a campsite, or setting up the location for a drug deal. Tools to help us actually use the sandbox and not just stare at it.
Or just utilize it well? like in San Andreas, the whole map is useful as there are tons of side missions like trucking, burglary, quarry, etc
My thoughts exactly. This is why I preferred GTA IV to GTA V. Liberty City was all city but also all playground. All the mountains and other flat plains in V's San Andreas were simply just needless space.
I like GTA 5s map but the mountains as filler spots just becomes more apparent. Apparently they ditched a chunk of the map and a whole nother small town. Wish they brought it back for the next gen update atleast

I'm glad this map will be 2x bigger since I enjoy driving my cars around the map while listening to the radio, especially at night. I also hope GTA 6's traffic will be more realistic, like there being traffic jams, more realistic cops, and road rage, such as people getting out of their cars just to beat someone up at a light lol.
I just hope it's actually an interesting map. I replayed San Andreas recently and despite having a much, much smaller map than GTA V it actually feels so much larger, as every area is unique. With GTA V's version so much of it is just the same boring hills nobody will ever go and a giant city at the bottom.
Thats cause of how its designed. When you add a higher drawing distance n stuff it feels way smaller again.

I like the fact not only will the map be possibly double the size of GTAV, but also looks to now have more interiors like GTA4, which combines the benefits of both a densely detailed Liberty city, and the vast big open country side of San Andreas
I just hope for 60 fps at least. With these larger map games, devs put limits they really don’t need to put, our consoles especially the series X can handle it, the PS5 will hopefully explode so people will realize how crappy it is

Since both the new Playstation and Xbox are using NVME SSD's we should see vehicles and planes go faster than they did in GTA 5
Btw the LS car meet update made some cars upgradeable to go 180+ mph... but it was just for PS5 if I remember correct

I think we also need to keep in mind that if the rumors are true and it is taking place in a futuristic version of Vice City. Vice City takes place in Miami, Florida. This being said it's a great possibility their is more water surrounding the game this time. From streams, rivers, swamps, coastlines, and The Everglades. It could be smaller in terms of land mass. They could also expand past Vice City as well

I'm concerned for the terrain. Anybody that's been to Florida knows that there are barely any hills in the city side for the whole Southside of Florida. The north side of Florida has more animals and a country field but as far as hills for what we expect there isn't any

In previous rockstar games you had to progress through story to unlock other parts of the map, with that back gamers would be more interested to explore the world
They need to do the stuff they did in older gta games such as going to burgershot and cluckin bell going to the gym more open interiors around the map that can be accessed in free roam. So it makes the map more alive like what they did in gta san andreas and gta 4 there were tons of interiors in those games. Bring back vigilante, firetruck and ambulance missions etc
I’m looking forward to a vast landscape of urban and rural areas mixed with hopefully some woods swamps and mountains with a good mix of coastal highways mountain roads dirt backroads mass highway systems and hopefully and a major city or two with smaller towns basically I want as big as it can get with a bit of everything

There's a Gta 6 mapping community on discord who have created an accurate map which is like 1.5X bigger than 5's. Map could stretch out more north though.

That's only the main map. 🤯 Remember, this game has been in development for 10 yrs and they have a project called project Americas which is basically including San Andreas, Liberty City, and a few others from previous games, plus maybe Mexico or other places. None of that is fully confirmed but there are a lot of rumors about it. Either way, GTA 6 is gonna be absolutely MASSIVE!
If the map is double the size, than speeds should be increased 2x to more accurate speeds more or less.

Plot twist They've been showing different zones all along so we literally still don't know the size of any region or location just ideas of what might be.

GTA6 shudda been mainly based in Denver CO. Talk about topography! Mountains to totally dwarf Mt. Chiliad.A nice size metro area..plenty of corrupt politics/crime..and just off to the east? Pikes Peak! ..we as players could scare ourselves 1/2 to death driving on that insane course up a mountain within inches of sheer drops, ahaha. Plus 4 seasons. Vice City..cool..but topographically as interesting as a sheet of ppr, lol. Snowmobiles, downhill skiing, etc would be a blast. ..well..at least GTA6 will likely have air boats..lol. i hope 6 has rly decent thunderstorms, at least aha.
