Rivers State youths have faulted the allegation leveled against the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara to the effect that he was owing the Council chairmen some backlogs. Similarly, the youths also reiterated their unwavering support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the welfare of the state amidst the call for his immediate impeachment by the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC. This resolute stance was articulated during a press briefing led by Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Rivers State chapter, on Wednesday.

It was unfortunate that the President was a party to a *lopsided agreement* in favour of an ex- gov Wike over a sitting executive governor, Fubara. Nigerians knew Tinubu was very partial and very unrealistic in forcing the agreement on the governor, which was against the Nigerian constitution. The Presiden too a wrong decision to rubberstamp Wike's personal agreement with state governor to control River state treasury under a sitting governor What Lagosians can accept will not be acceptable by Rivers state people.
Tinubu should know that power has changed hands and that whatever agreement he had with Wike towards 2027 can no longer work as planned without Fubara. Wike should also understand that for him to have his way as before, he should humble himself and work with the sitting Governor. No amount of noise or intimidation can make the Governor succumb to him. Governor’s first 4 years in office is guaranteed, and another 4 years will come if he pleases the masses. In short, Wike should just find another way to stay relevant before Tinubu and his cabals, Fubara has gone with the power. Simple!
It is all about the pride and dignity of Rivers State. Why are the elders silent over this impunity by Wike and his co-travelers to tear the once peaceful state into pieces. If this is not nipped in the bud in time, many would live to regret their actions or inactions.
