Hey guys! Today I am doing the third episode of dollar store makeovers! You guys really love this series, so I decided to continue on!
I decided to go shopping at the Dollar Store for a couple of items that I thought would be fun to paint on, customize and decorate to make them more of my style. I noticed shopping at the Dollar Tree, that there were so many cute things that had a lot of easy DIY potential. I wanted to do this to show that you don't need to spend a lot to have fun with art and customizing things. There are so many cheap and affordable items to be painted on! I hope I give you some fun ideas for easy dollar store flips!
This dollar store makeover includes all sea themed projects in order to raise awareness to the #teamseas project!

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 26 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating, painting and general art videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. You will also find occasional crafting/testing crafting kits on my channel which are always a hot mess. And even some baking (REALLY bad at that, but it's fun to try LOL).

  • the second item that Moriah painted was called an oil burner, it was used to perfume the room, the top was filled with water and a few drops of essential oil and heated using a candle underneath it. I love your vid ❤️

    • I’m sorry to say but I don’t think team seas is even gonna make a dent with the amount of plastic in the ocean so I wouldn’t get my hopes up about this. It’s nice but it’s kinda just a waste of time and money :/

The thought that it's a waste of time and money is a dangerous thought in and of itself because it leads to negligence and apathy. So what if this only leads to a small percentage of waste being cleaned from the ocean? It's still a percentage of waste no longer in the ocean. And there are MANY organizations and charities out there dedicated to cleaning the ocean: together, it adds up. So please don't call this a waste.

  • That wax warmer is SCREAMING for a Georgie themed makeover. Like a character wearing a georgie outfit. Wax warmer as the oufit, and a squishy inside the little 'bracelet cave' that you can display or pop the little character out to squish.

  • As someone who has watched all your vids, you didn’t like Gesso because you didn’t see the point. You knew people used it so you used it. Until you had a surface that was particularly tricky that you decided to prime it first (I’m struggling to remember) and you were like oh, I see …. And it’s been a whirl wind love affair since haha

  • Omg Moriah I thought about the beat idea. I did think about this like two years ago- well whatever. So basically you know pop sockets? The things you put on your phones to make it easier to hold? Ya, so they are amazing canvases. Not too tiny and not too big. Also they come in plain white so you can buy plain ones and paint them. Or you can buy patterns and just paint a character on top to make it have a cool background. (Not forcing, its just a idea)
