This guy literally waited millions, billions or even trillions of years just to fulfill the duty he was given. What a legend, he is now my most favorite character in the whole SCP-verse becuase of this. I would've loved to hear more about him.
He waited a lot longer than that. Scientists have actually run the numbers on how long it would take the universe to completely distribute all energy within it evenly. Go look up the time it would take for the heat death of the universe to occur. Basically the administrator has lived a VERY long life.

@Shavar Campbell783 What i mean is that the story is written in a way where it you dont need to know anything about the scp foundation to understand it. You dont need to know what 001 proposals are, or the various groups or interests, or what kind of XK-Class this falls under. Sure we see yet another origin story for the Foundation and the Statue, but that's all flavour text. It's all side bits that we breeze past because this is not a story of the foundation versus an anomaly; it's a tale of two beings: an intangible evil and the one chosen to stop it.
A great song to go with this tale is everywhere at the end of time
Personally, this right here is the true SCP-001. What can only be described as a potential time loop and answer behind the rest of the universe as if is known, as well as the Poem of the Scarlet King essentially saying that he is also the Black Moon ties it all up nicely.

Trying to sweep up every SCP into your own story is fun and interesting in theory...but kind of misses the point of SCPs. SCP's are all about everyone being free to create their own story with their own themes within the loose shared framework. Trying to shove that framework and all of those stories into your own box to provide them with your meaning is... understandable but also a bit arrogant. It takes away from that quality of the unknown that all SCP's benefit from. It reframes them all as incomplete fragments within a narrative that's not their own. It cuts off their balls and tries to explain them away. Pretty sure that's not what the SCP universe is all about. It's supposed to be a big sandbox where everyone has their chance to play. Claiming you built the sandbox after the fact isn't cool. Not that that's necessarily what this author was trying to do. He wrote this as a proposal for 001...and he did a fine job of that. But calling it the real 001 is a big mistake. Nothing is real in the SCP universe, which means anything can be real. That's why it's fun.

You see, SCP’s these days are either XK-Class End of the World Scenario’s, or really nice, cute and safe SCP’s.
Yeah I much prefer the niche dangerous-or-weird-but-easily-containable SCPs. The bug that can sense thoughts and literally moves faster than the human eye that was only caught when it convinced a guy he was hallucinating by appearing in his vision and hiding from everyone else. Or the telepathic spider with an Australian accent that was sad no other spiders could talk like he could. Or the teleporting chair that was destroyed by the GOC and is now a load of splinters and mulch with PTSD. I love an XK-Class scenario as much as the next guy; When Day Breaks, the Malfunctioning Destroyer, 001 "Why?", etc are all really awesome to think about. But there's only so many interdimensional bullshit SCPs or self-replicating SCPs or malevolent ancient god SCPs that I can read before they all start to sound the same and it gets really boring.

Uh, the Black Moon is nowhere even close to Scarlet King's powers In terms of feats and statements. The Scarlet King is not a physical entity his a idea, “the tension between the modern and the premodern made manifest”. He has killed countless low elder gods who’s mere existence can destroy multiverses with uncountable infinite dimensionality by manifesting in it. One of these gods is scp-3125 who was said to be this powerful “'SCP-3125 represents an omniversal-scale threat. It threatens neighbouring realities to ours. It threatens microverses within our macroverse. It threatens universes which embed ours as fiction” . So yeah the Black Moon is not more powerful than SK but the Black Moon seems to be a manifestation of the Scarlet King depending on if you believe the hostile unknown deity in scp-4002 to be him.

That last line is the exact reason why we have so many damn SCP-001. They held a contest for the spot, and there were too many good ones that they simply compiled them under the single title rather than choose a single one. Which, luckily, lended itself well to the SCP Foundation. A good example of how a coherent lore isn't 100% necessary if it suffocates creativity, and how playing into the multiverse can explain the confusion without actually solving it.

19:02 is the most emotion I have ever heard in the narrator’s voice. It’s almost enough to make me feel disturbed. The narrator always talks with such a calm and relaxed tone, it was almost terrifying to listen to.
I recommend listening to “The Bodies In The Water” or “The Things Left Unsaid”. Hunter really throws himself into the rolls there as they slowly affect him more and more, and the results are… disquieting.

I dunno I think that some instances of the SK is pretty good. The problem with most people writing the Scarlet King is they over explain it, originally it was just what was in the Brides article and that was good. Didn't know what it was, if it truly existed or if the brides were just a bizarre ritual made by fanatics.

This is the best 001 you've posted so far. Tied into the SCP foundation as a whole in a satisfying way, satisfying callbacks to other popular abnormalities (173), a good unknowable horror (entropy itself) for a villain, and a final battle that is tense and, even if the whole "this magic box makes entropy into a human" thing was a bit handwavy, felt somehow right. Ouroboros left me with a bad taste in my mouth, this one feels properly epic.

It looks more complicated than that to me. A spookie statue, a spookie staircase, a spookie window, etc can only get you so far, and, furthermore, it could seem uninverosimil, ludicrous or mundane if poorly executed. You may also want it to be popular, so, adding a threat is an easy, albeit weak, option.
Yeah. I had two idea for 001's that would end existence, but I think the favorite one I came up with was just based on the music video for "Safe And Sound." Literally just a movie theater with a stage in the front for live performances, where the characters in the movies would come to life and party for a day. The two end of the world SCPs i came up with were an event that would trigger if the broken god was completed, the other was the essence of entropy.
The good news is that one has a satisfactory end... well, end for the 001, and a Bite The Dust Universe Level, minus the Black Moon, whose howling has been silenced forever

You know the Black Moon is mentioned within a couple tales of the Scarlet King. Even the poem holds mention of the Black Moon. "the cretin moon no more is howling, gone its mourning black. in their dreams its face is prowling, come to take them back." It would seem to be that the Black Moon has some kind of connection with the Scarlet King even if it's not a direct one. I wonder what it would be since the Scarlet King dwarfs the Black Moon in power by quite a metaphysical lot.

I did NOT expect him to be the administrator, but it makes sense and the plot got EVEN crazier the moment the sculpture got mentioned! "Let there be light" The administrator was just a normal boy, became immortal, founded the very scp foundation itself, were responsible for the creation one of the very first scps, had a bunker just as immortal as he is constructed, killed the very thing that killed the entirety of the universe and recreated it only without the black moon and became the depiction we know as "god". He trully is the most powerful being in the entirety of the universe or even multiverse. For all we know, he may not be the first person but he may very well be the oldest
