    • You don't understand shit. What he's describing in this shallow song is contrast, not true appreciation. If you truly appreciate someone, or something, you don't need to experience its absence in order to.. well, keep appreciating it. Concrete example: Every day before going to school, as a child, I used to see the same scenery. A forest. Nothing amazing, but it was amazing to me every single time, and I didn't have to leave town in order to keep on loving it, and the appreciation didn't diminish as time went on. Without trying to sound like I'm throwing shade, this is a song for angsty teens, that don't know how stuff works, but they feel like they actually do know how stuff works. They don't. You don't. Learn to love, not to experience infatuation or attachment. Love lasts. Out of those three, only love truly lasts, and heals, and makes life worthwhile.

  • A boy in the 8th grade in our school died from cancer and students of his class and friends of him told me that he constantly listened to this song 30 minutes before he died in a hospital. 2 Years later when the 10th grade of his class left the school, a girl, his best friend, sang THIS song, HIS favourite song, in front of 600 ppl and made a speech. At the first sentence she tried to say, she cried. It was heartbreaking. I'm still crying thinking about him even tho i didnt know him. I'm happy i wrote R.I.P. on a letter for him when i got in the 7th grade.

Looks like every word is written for me speaking to me and telling me it's okay to let someone go who don't value you don't love you don't care about your feelings who hurts you knowing how much you love her who said words that cut you deep inside and never even apologies and she knows you're hurt.   • Everyone has different experiences with this song but it really represents what was happening to me. She was struggling 9 years against stroke and I was there to help her, feed her, clean her mess.. she said "God take me up there, can't sit down here with do nothing but make everyone busy on my shit" 😔 and God took her last year.
