On this day 10 years ago, our very first album called “Sadnecessary” was released in Germany. It’s hard to wrap our heads around everything that’s happened since. We toured the world, made a living from what we love most, and got to meet all you beautiful people. We’re thankful to have built this community together. Here’s to the next 10 years!

“We are very honored when asked to create a lyric video celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sadnecessary Album, especially after our previous collaboration with Milky Chance making Fairytale animated lyric video.
Initially, I saw that everyone who listened to Stolen Dance actually has their own special meaning of this song, which varies for each person. To endorse the spirit of interpretation, we created the visuals to be abstract and surreal, for the audience to interpret the story by themselves. Stolen Dance would not be complete without featuring a depiction of ‘dance’. The dances are interpreted through all the visual and dynamic that intertwines along with the music.
We have been seeing this video as a way of celebration, thus we try to have fun by doing what we never tried before; like holding a small dance session which we translated into rotoscope animation in the lyric video. In the studio, we are used to creating things that are story-based, so exploring things visually was a really fun process.
We feel lucky to be part of the Milky Chance’s journey on their 10th Anniversary. I hope for a great journey ahead for both of us! Special thanks to Milky Chance and my team at Kolam Susu Studio!”
