The worst financial mistake you can make is buying a bolide as your main daily. Which is why I got the hirochi CCF mod as a daily. It's fun to drive and it doesn't want to kill you at every turn. Most of the time.
@@jwalster9412 yup , I saw some one get a real good deal on a used car. It was a Etk-k series kc8 ,it had engine wear and lots of miles but still good. This game has so much potential , the Devs are really working hard to create and finish this career mode , it going to be one hell of a addition to the game ( they're even looking to add multiplayer to it , so it's more interactive)
@@jwalster9412 I recomend the base model Bolide, with sport suspension and striped out of unneeded weight. Also, put some wider tires from the clubsport or race trims (might have to change hubs) It doesnt want to kill you anymore!

@@jwalster9412 you can kinda do that, only problem is that you can't diagnose the individual parts and what is wrong ,but you can still replace parts that you think is damaged , like the head gasket and other stuff ( you can also look at the notifications to see what is broken / I agree , it would be cool if they added oil changes to the game ) . Also , beam has some basic engine parts that are missing from the configurator like : spark plugs, belts and some others . They could very easily add it though. I guarantee they have all of this on mind , they have a blog forum on their website that people constantly talk about the topic ( you can suggest ideas to the Devs as well as talk to them ) ,the devs regularly visit it and sometimes confirm or agree what is coming and stuff. Like , they said that they might potentially add buying homes and instead use that as the defaul respawn point where you can keep some of your cars in the homes garage and also being able to keep some at the mechanic garage.
You definitely need to continue this as a series. Every update adds so much more to it.
This is so cool. The potential is huge. If this was a multiplayer thing and you could show off your modified cars and feel a sense of risk and reward I think people would be really into it. Cheating would be a big issue though.
I'm wondering how huge the potential is if it's compatible with Auto Industry Simulator "Automation" Here, go build your own cars from the ground up, starting with 1940's tech... then buy them in Career Mode...
@@JonathonBarton there are some mods that allow for their custom vehicles to appear in the dealers randomly. I can't remember the name of it, but it was a mod around old used cars that started out with broken parts and such or missing pieces, functional, but not great. (using the vanilla vehicles, just new variants of them) I'm sure another mod could be implemented where it allows the dealers to access your imported automation cars, the issue comes with the lack of customization and inability to do cargo missions and the like, and probable lack of a tow hitch to even add a trailer to to take cargo boxes around in and such

I hope they add a Dyno station that you have to drive your car onto if you want to tune the engine's ECU. Maybe even a whole other tuning shop that you have to drive to if you want to tune the car.
I would also love body work and mechanical work to be separated. Body shops can do light mechanical work and some part replacement but if you want to do major repairs or changes you go to a dedicated mechanic. Would also be cool (but probably difficult or impossible to program) for you to be able to do basic bodywork where the deformation is just roughly buffed out, or pay extra for a full cosmetic and structural fix, involving panel replacement where possible and expensive buffing out on the chassis. Irreparable damage (such as frame damage) and parts stock would be cool too but maybe too hardcore (could be optional).

Remarkably stable and fleshed out for a still obscured WIP mode. 100% recommend people try it. Very glad I saw this video otherwise never would of even occurred to me.

Would love to see you do a small playthrough of this for a bit, refreshing to see a fairly major game with this type of career mode. It also reminds me a lot of Motor Town which is pretty cool, I think that's another game you've taken a look at in the past.
There are 5 stars available every race. 2 bonus ones and 3 for performance. The 3 performance stars are only available if you use the provided car, not your own. The 2 bonus stars are always available. That’s why when you won the race you only got 2 stars.
I see what they're going for there (it's to prevent you from bringing a heavily tuned car into a race against much slower and/or worse handling cars and sweeping) but I wish it was based on a car rating system and if you were below the rating you could still get 3 stars even with your own car (maybe a bonus one for risking your own ride)

When I build a car in career mode I make a car first in free roam so that I can make a parts list and adjust my tuning and alignment then copy that to my career mode car. Lets me test builds without risking an avoidable crash due to a bad alignment or blow an engine because the rev limit was too high. If you don’t know how to properly do alignments in the game there’s a wheel debug ui app that gives you data about camber, caster, and toe
So... You're saying you use a Physics Driven Simulator to model and test the theoretical performance of cars that you're eventually going to build in the "real world"? Brilliant and meta.

I've had plenty of fun with this recently. A few things I've noticed/found: You can customise your insurance policy, including things like premium, repair time, and if replaced parts are paint matched. You can buy cars from dealerships, but also from the Garage Computer. Dealership cars bought from the computer have to be delivered, and take time. Also on the computer, there are private sellers, where you drive to the car to buy it. The career works well with mods, although they may not have cargo slot mods on them. And of course, plenty more fun to find out!

Neither of what you said is correct. If the damage is minor enough the garage won't care, and your car is only put back to the previous state if you restart

Alex you will unlock more fast travel points as you complete races and make progress in that motorsport bar
You can just drive there and it will unlock the places, no need to do missions

Well it doesn't really matter that you don't play online since there isn't network multiplayer... The videos Alex does of multiplayer uses third party mods. Other than that the only multiplayer is local or through something like Proton
Beam is primarily a single player game, the multiplayer beam MP in of itself is a mod
You can turn on simplified physics, which turns off crashes with other objects (and players) unless you mean the safety of the mod, in which case you don’t have to worry, IIRC, it’s dev made.
Played it single player for like 50 hours at this point, just modifying the cars in some stupid way and drove around exploring. I think I have yet to start a mission or a challenge. Also I download a fair bit of cars as mods, you can find some decent stuff.
For anyone who's wondering: the deliveries arnt 100% useless, some locations do have high value items. The quarry usually has 1-3 large $1000+ items. But you usually nee dto search quite a bit
delivering a ton of small stuff makes some decent money too

this entire video could've been saved by just taking 5 minutes to play through the tutorial. They literally tell you how to do all the stuff you spend your time fumbling about with. That's kinda why they put it there... I'm glad you like it, but this is the kinda thing that turns people away from a game before they can ever appreciate it. Instead of progressing through the game and actually getting the full experience, you spend time trying to figure out how to accomplish a simple task that was explained earlier in a hint or a literal tutorial that was made by the developers specifically to show you how to accomplish that task, or explain crucial game concepts (like the insurance claim system, or how challenges work). I hope you and others continue to make this content because the game mode is great, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it and I will enjoy watching. I just feel like you could have done a better job showcasing what the game mode actually has to offer, and it would probably have been more fun for you as well.

Now you're talking my language. the ONLY complaint I have with Beam SO FAR is that if you put a car in storage for a different car, if the car is AT ALL damaged, it must be repaired before you can drive it again. Even a ding. I'd rather be allowed to leave it beat to sin and fix parts of it as I wish. Engine, Transmission, suspension, body, etc all having separate repair systems. That way if JUST the body is damaged, I can leave it be until I'm 1) able to afford repair, 2) have to fix or replace something else, or 3) car just doesn't drive and I'm already dumping money into it.
Don't discount upgrading the exhaust. It will actually add some horsepower, even if not much. And in the purchase parts, you buy "cargo boxes" to put the parts in. Larger cars (cargo truck vs sedan) can have a larger cargo box installed. Should also grab a better set of tires. And if you actually look in the my parts menu, it'll list parts on your car(s) and you can remove them, as well as selling ones that aren't installed.
Removing the exhaust entirely gives the most power

The ETK is the best starter car, it has the most storage space and is the most stable under max load.

Career mode has been in game for like 2 years now. It's heavy WIP and gets significant changes in nearly every game update. This version is unrecognizable compared to what we had a year ago, and probably compared to what it will be this time next year as well.

TIP #1: it's best to do the challenges with the default vehicle they want to give you, that is what lets you get the first 3 stars on a mission and the most payment for it. TIP $2: the "Garage2Garage" missions have very good payout, if in they are very repetitive and simple, but they're a good way to just do some driving with many cars and make decent starting cash
Driving 140km/h in a stock road car is "not even going that fast." Playing racing games definitely ruins your perspective on speeds :D

What? That's like... Barely highway speed. Even the slowest of the vehicles I've owned was governed at 170kmh, and all others have easily gone beyond 200kmh

I traveled Europe in few 40-50hp shitboxes, all but one got up to 140, and some were even fine with holding it there for a bit. So I was amazed how slow the I series is in the game xD But with 3.0 engine swap and shorter gears in differential it is really great car.
You can quick travel to any of the specific quick travel points on the map, the ones with the three green arrows

Hey failrace! I have a thing for you. You can make good money buy doing a chop shop! Where you buy a car take off ALL of the parts sell them then sell the car. You make more mkney doing it that way. AND there is a mod that improves the career mode. If i find the link itll be in the replies! Anyways thanks for the awesome video's!

As you were struggling to get to 70, me yelling my 1974 beetle handled better
Um... I need to give an advice that Carrer save can bug out, so you can't call out your vehicles. Do some backups just in case. You also DON'T want to repair your car often, or Policy Score will be increased, and that means more payouts even for a 10+ minutes waiting repair. Next advice: Upgrades (especially Engine swaps and Turbos) aren't cheap+7% taxes. First do better radiators, skidplates, better brakes AND brake pads (at least front) and swap to Welded differential at least (if the car comes with Open differential). The XL roof cargo box (for cargo deliveries) is the only one that have 128 slots (like for Soliad Lansdale Cargo Van). Sometimes cargo options can bug out, when you standing on loading zone, so the only things that I can advise is open-close that menu with different timings. Commercial insurance somehow is more expensive than Luxury Insurance (or however both of them called in original English?). Be ready for those expenses, Alex! After buying upgrades sell those spare parts, ESPECIALLY if they're stock. That's a sorta Cashback in this mode. Repaint is free (for now), so "Paint new body parts" should be removed in the insurance options, to save some noney. My recommendation on repair time (in standard repair) is 900 seconds (you actually HAVE to wait IN GAME all those seconds of repair works, you hear?) Soliad Lansdale Cargo Van (A) is the best non-commercial vehicle for cargo deliveries I can advise to you, especially with XL roof box woth 128 slots. Don't do time limited deliveries WITH fragile cargo deliveries at the same time. Trust me, it's a bad idea. I hope I helped you , Alex, and helped to other FailRace subscribers.

Don't use welded diff unless you're offroading, it ruins your turning circle
The thing to remember is you bought a used car with mileage on it. You can replace the brakes with new stock or upgraded parts and it gets a lot better. Swapping the engine to a 3.0 or turboing the 2.4 really wakes the car up.

The fact they've simulated not only crash physics but also so many little details about how cars work and how they break, like engine heat, oil, brake fade, etc, should make the career extremely deep.

Before this video I was like...."dang I would be interested in this game but I have no friends (that are interested in this) to do similar things that failrace does....." now with this I am reconsidering depending on how this career mode goes and if they add in a slight story of sorts depending on what you level up the most or do the most mission wise e.g. smuggler/police escapist/racer/normal joe delivery guy.

So far it's mainly "earn money, buy cars" for a career mode. Though it's definitely a challenge to complete some of the events to full expectation.
They're not even close to finishing it yet , which says that its going to be big ( as they said ). Theyre considering adding multiplayer, for more cohession. They have a community/blog post on their website where they talk about it and you can suggest ideas and stuff

Career mode has been a part of the game for at least 6 months if not closer to a year💀 A little late huh?😂
You skipped the intro so you couldnt sell the free covet they gave you for 6000 , all it does it introduce you to the most basic things of career mode ,it doesnt spoil anything , i don't think there was any need to skip it. Also you went to the wrong computer to tune your car , theres one right on the bench next to the entrance ( its looks like a macbook ). The one you went to is primarily for buying cars online. Also if you get a black screen , press F5 to reset the UI so it goes back to normal. Those missions at the start are just generic deliveries you can do to earn money, all over the map there are better challenges (kinda like scenarios) you do for way more money. With career mode you can work as different jobs ( that has something to do with cars ) you can be a trucker, a delivery person (with whatever vehicle you want) , and more ,you do senarios (theyre different to the normal ones , they introduce levels and being able to earn money and they have different types of them like: police chases , truck work , running from cops ,races , street racing ,challenges , deliveries and some more. These scenarios allow you to earn money and spend it on what you want , you get a car at the start and you slowly work your way up to get a new/ better car , tune it and get more jobs and scenarios. And you also have insurance you have to have for your car. The insurance Auto fixes your car when you drive it into the garage, but like In real life ,your insurace score goes down. But its still a work in progress

Alex! Please, if you are going to do delivery missions get a van at least. Im currently saving up for a box trailer for my T Series cabover 3 axle lorry. Got it for 6k, with very high miles (engine idles poorly, miss shifts and it stalls, but still, very cheap) You can drive to the quicktravel points, that will unlock them for use. Also: restart missions so you dont get stuck with a broken car rather than abandoning them. The police chases are very fun, unpaid fines should be easy money. Races pay a lot too, and you can deliver cars if you want to try out several cars. You can also try out cars before buying them for a couple of minutes. Somehow I managed to flip a Luxe Bastion V8 before I bought it lmaoo.
To add to this: You can get cargo boxes from the garage to increase payload. You can either be sensible and get boxes on the trunk or passenger seat (I series should be able to do it, altough slowly) or get a MASSIVE roof box that almost guarantees rolling over. After doing some delivery missions you will unlock better paying timed and fragile cargo, but to really make it worthwhile youll need an efficient, big cargo vehicle. I recomend a eurospec diesel Soliad Landsdale, or a H Series Gavril panel van. The former is considerably cheaper, but smaller.

Quick tip, if you crash and repair your car with your insurance, you will be charged a deductible and your premiums will go up not just for repairs, but for normal payments as well
quick travel is unlocked by driving there with GPS enabled

For the life of me I can't understand how to evade the police there. You outrun/destroy them? More appear in front of you. You go hide offroad somewhere? the evade bar doesn't go up. And more and more keep spawning. I feel like I'm missing something here

The campaign in BeamNG has alot of potential but the fact that you have scripted police chase challenges and can choose other cars to use in races kinda makes buying new cars and upgrading your car makes it kinda pointless. I feel like the Beam Legal Racing mod does it better
Ideally id want a mix of the two, because the UI in the official mode is better, same with the upgrade system, but the repairing and pricing isnt as good
Can you force all cars to be automatic?
You can by just pressing Q but it will behave like an automatic in arcade games where holding the brake button will make you go into reverse
