Ukraine Pilots Complete F-16 Training in Uk, Head for France as Russia Unleashes Deadly Glide Bombs

Amid a grinding war in Ukraine, the first group of 10 Ukrainian pilots have completed initial flight training in the UK. The completion of initial training is a significant step in Ukraine’s efforts to enhance its air defence capabilities against Russian military actions. Following the training in the UK, the Ukrainian pilots will advance to more specialised training with the French Air Force. The Russian Air Force’s Sukhoi fighter-bombers are reportedly dropping a hundred or more KAB glide bombs a day from as far away as 64 kilometres.

He cant pull back or surrender as he would lose face, so instead russia will lose all its military equipment, all its troops and all its money........at THE SAME TIME....ensuring an easy victory for NATO, to go in and seize all the nuclear weapons once russia surrenders.

  • I don't think this plane will make much difference. The F16 is a good platform, but things are not as easy as training a few pilots for a couple of months and expecting them to perform well. In the West, pilots receive training for years to be efficient at what they do, and people hope to compress all that time into months? Not likely. Additionally, this plane is at least 40 years old, very few of them and will not have the latest updates. Finally, the Russians have many more aircraft of equivalent or better quality and many countermeasures to shoot it down such as the S400 and other anti-aircraft systems. So, in my estimation, they will join the scrap heap of supposed game-changers.

Even from a pro western article that I read they’re not certain as to whether the s400 has been used in this war! Besides S400 isn’t designed for small targets like drones. They’re for jets and missiles so the f-16 would have to battle with these systems and the s400 has radar range far enough to detect these jets before they position themselves to fire their missiles whether long range or short range missiles. Even the west acknowledges that many of these jets would be killed in these operations but the Ukrainians have to take the risk to see if they can overcome the FAB bombs which has become the game changer in this war.

  • F16 for the win. No doubt here! The avionics are excellent. The plane is hard to hit because it is so agile. It really depends on how free Ukraine is to use them, but they will set the Russian front in Ukraine in flames and the respond time towards Russian initiatives on Ukrainian soil will be even more difficult. F16s, suppported by Awacs, is sky control on Ukrainian controlled territory. The planes won’t be allowed to fly into Russia, nor are they allowed to destroy targets in Russian air space. There is only one side note: the f16s don’t have the latest version of avionics. The American F16s have that. Not the Dutch and Danish F16s. But still they would dominate a range of scenarios. The Amraam is a wild rocket to shoot with .

So if it's so easy, why would Ukrainian pilots have to struggle with old planes and are not yet familiar with this technique, let NATO spare at least a little bit of that Ukraine.

  • This is all very weird -- and I do not just mean talking F-16s and showing totally different aircraft either. At least we saw a few F-16s but all except the US ones were un-modified early models and the USA is not donating any. No, what is truly weird is that the UK and France are 'training' pilots for F-16s yet neither country uses them or ever has done. Simulators? Welcome to the games arcade. Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Romania have various iterations, Greece still flies some old ones and most of Romania's stock is ex-Portuguese. Slovakia has a few older types but Poland has 46, the Netherlands about 106 stored. Norway had them for a while but sold them on. Why are pilots not being trained in countries which actually have them? One vital reason is that a caretaker prime minister in The Hague may not make defence decision under Dutch law and Belgium will not act first. Incidentally, Turkey's F-16s are Turkish modified Lockheed designs and not strictly F-16s. Ultra-weird, though, is the statement by UK Defence Secretary G Shapps. It is quite simply a pack of lies. I have been an Englishman for nearly 75 years and know the difference between wishful thinking and "damned lies" by my fellow countryman aged 55. I am relieved that Britain's Air Chief Marshall Dowding at the time of the Battle of Britain was not a liar. My father was involved in that then served the rest of WW2 as a radar man in RAF Bomber Command. Had his commanders been such liars as Shapps I might not be here or no sane man would have risked his life for his country and we would be speaking German -- unless we were Jews then we would have been exterminated. Unelected PM Sunak really must get rid of Shapps because he has made dangerously idiotic mistakes since being appointed. Misinformation is one thing but DISinformation is treachery.

    • "Amid a grinding war in Ukraine, the first group of 10 Ukrainian pilots have completed initial flight training in the UK. " That's not propaganda. That's more or less the situation as we speak. These lads will fly an F16 straight from training into living hell. That's brave very brave. Whether they will change anything? It's longshot, one they seem willing to take for there own brothers getting smashed by those glide bombs. There are several oversights. The video compares the F16 vs the SU27 Which the versions they have can compare to favourably apart from range and payload. However the SU27 isn't it's main threat. The SU 35 is. Which has a better radar with better stand-off capabilities. Also the AIM 120's radar is very small. The pilot can't turn away their plane until the missile is roughly 20km away from the target. leaving themselves exposed to incoming missiles as well.

    • I took this from an aviators blog... add it all up, its two years from scratch to train a pilot to be combat efficient. ... this is for pilots who ALREADY flew F-15's, so KNEW HOW TO FLY!! '' It takes a year to go through under graduate pilot training. Then three months to go though Lead-in-fighter training. A month for Land, combat and water survival. One week for centrifuge training. At that point you would be able to begin F-16 training which takes 6 months. Once complete you go to an operational unit. The operational unit at that point begins seasoning training in all aspects of the aircraft capability. Depending on weather and other factors, your seasoning training may take an additional 4 to 6 months. After your seasoning training is complete, a pilot is awarded Combat Mission Ready (CMR) Status.''

      @PeterM1-qx1tz@PeterM1-qx1tzАй бұрын
    • @@PeterM1-qx1tz It says from scratch, not with already trained pilots. Also you ignore the fact that Ukrainian pilots are not learning to be part of Western military so their training is cut in that part too. Also i would add that pilots from Ukraine comes from war, they don't have to train for it to get the badge. Year is plenty of time to train pilots coming from actual war. Given it is also Russian pilots they fight with, i would say year is even an over kill.
