You can always just put it on something like a wood box, crate, etc, to raise it up a little. Given the price compared to other brands I opted to get this and raise it myself rather than spending another $100-$300. You can also use pvc or metal bar to extend the bottom bar.

That “counter weight” thing you mentioned is for jabs. It forces the bar to change direction and come back a little faster. It’s meant to be a target.

No pain no gain. One of the most important things a person can learn is how to take a hit. Can’t expect to get into a fight and not get hit. Never back down! This bag is a great tool in my opinion. Good hand eye coordination keeps you moving. Heck I would move that reflex bag within reach and go to town on both at the same time. Js. Good video.

That's why you should aim closer towards the base of the bar first and then move out along the length of the bar. The closer you hit from the tip of the bar the faster the bar will spin (and almost equally as hard as you hit it.) I would also suggest jabbing and blocking equally with both hands before trying to dodge and close the gap first so that you're closer to the bar and not on the edge of the range so you're blocking the length of the bar and not the end. Essentially fighting like an inside boxer. As you get better, work footwork, then dodging, and step back progress in zones (treat them like level-ups in a game.) Move back every time you reach the point you can reliably jab, block, footwork, dodge, and can hit the full length of the bar always moving back down to the base when you step back and working you're way up. As long as you don't rotate your head and keep it facing the "dummy" you won't get smacked square in the face when you're close. When you get to the point where you're in the final zone you should developed good habits, and natural reflexes.
This was good advice, I really appreciate your input. I will start doing this now on. I will stay closer on the bar because you're right, it won't hit me from the tip if I'm in close on it, and it will allow me to work inside, which is helpful for a taller people. @@cristiang2167 Ok yeah I do but it is not available right now. You may or may not know of the boxer Ryan Garcia. But he has a cobra bag that is super fast. The ones on the market now are very slow because of the springs. But next month they are supposed to release the product to the Public. It may or may not happen but before you invest in anything I would wait to see what happens with the bag coming out. Its an insane bag and it probably will be expensive but its definitely worth it. I know this because his coach posted it on his Instagram.

I wouldn’t recommend this at all, I began to hate it more after this video, if your going to buy a bag, get the cobra bag. However don’t get anyone that is out now. Next month in may Ryan Garcia has a cobra bag coming out that is really good. So save your money and get that. Trust me!!!!

I’m not a pro, but I think you’re using it wrong. I think you’re supposed to have your guard up at all times (opposite hand of the punch you throw). That’s 50% what it’s supposed to help you train for. Don’t give up on it. Do it again and go slower, get that guard up!
