After 100 hours TIL, that you can decide how to separate the troops and which men-at-arms go in which army. I have been besieging with levies and chasing a peasant revolt with siege engines. SUSCRIBED.
haha thanks man! there are so many little things that never get explained in this game
I think it's really stupid when you hit the "break of besieger Army" it's smart enough to calculate the number of levies you need but it's not smart enough to add in...any seige MaA.
Indeed, I remember thinking I that had just got started to get it all figured out - and my playtime was at 100 hours... brutal.
im a simple levie.. I learn something, I gib the sub
Lol
Really well explained, i had the classic "a ton of stuff just started making sense" moment. ty for this
Still learning new things from your videos. I never knew the advantage modifier directly increased your damage, I always used it as a bar of: “am I winning or not“ but even with high advantage sometimes the enemy can throw enough bodies to outlast you lol
Zieley you have been a godsend for me. I have played around 200 hours and was starting to get frustrated with CK3 being a newcomer to the game and the way it works. Your videos have helped me tremendously and I have a new love for CK3 and all of its intricacies. Thanks and keep up the great work. Subscribed.......
Nice tips video. Perfectly consolidated and presented.
Thank you for making this video short unlike the other you tubers are making 30 minute long videos
I also think you did an amazing job explaining how to make your army’s better 👍
It's my pleasure! I am really happy I could help
This is the best guide on this on KZhead. I learned so much.
Love your videos man! You have a good voice for this!
Instant sub! Very helpful thank you!!
Just got into the game. Great guides, even for a ck2 vet like me. Cheers
Devs should just fix troops movements on the maps and how to move your allies troops with yours. That would improve the game experience immensely
I love your videos, I'm new to ck3 (ps5) and slowly working things out and watching your videos is a massive help up that steep learning curve. Thankyou 👍😊
Very informative thank you
As a CK3 veteran I can say it's plain and simple yet comprehensive guide. Well done. But I want to add a tip about combat width. Combat Width decides how many troops are able to fight each other at the same time. So if you are outnumbered fighting in terrain with narrow combat width may negate you disadvantage.
Great tips 👍
I have dropped Tsar Bomba on that sub button! Wonderful tutorial here! I definitely look forward towards more content.
Thanks a lot man! appreciate ya
@@Zieley No problem!
It was very explainatory!
Managing armies lategame is by far the most tedious aspect of CK3. Splitting up your army stacks to keep them under the province supply limits and moving them around takes so many mouseclicks. They even didn'nt implement a keyboard shortcut for deselecting a single unit that could make this a bit more bearable. I really hope that they will address this in an upcoming expansion.
Yeah a one click button to have armies split and resupply would be great
Awesome vid, except for the part about Men At Arms. Stacking a single type of MAA will always be stronger than having some of each type. Running a mono-stack allows you to stick to the building that buffs said unit and build it in every county you own, which buffs it into the heavens and turns your chosen unit type into space marines. Counters are also a bit of a "trap". Countering is based on the numbers of the countering unit vs the numbers of countered unit, with a 50% efficiency at equal numbers. If you have 500 Light Horsemen vs 500 Archers, the Archers will only get a 50% penalty. You need a 2:1 numbers advantage to reduce the countered unit down to 10%. What this means, is that if you stick to a single unit, you will never be countered, because the AI always runs a mixed MAA army instead of a monostack, so even if your enemy does show up with the perfect counter to your unit of choice, they won't have enough of that unit to make it matter. On top of that, the strongest MAA units like Varangian Veterans, Horse Archers or Longbowmen will still win when countered just by virtue of having better stats. Generic Armored Footmen or Armored Horsemen are also still really good if you are playing with a weak culture specific MAA set. The only scenario where counters matter, are high level multiplayer games where people show up with monostacks specificlty designed to counter your monostack.
Nice Video, keep it up!
Thanks my guy!
Great tips. Now if I can figure put how to pull up all these screens you were showing us...
Knights get kills during pursuit phases, at least according to the after action report. Do they have a hidden pursuit stat?
lol subbed as soon as I saw 2:25
Heres an idea for a future vid . Maybe you can offer an angle on succession. Ive got 40-50 hours in this game and one of the (among other) elements frustrating me is managing succession. That is , losing half your terrtitory when you die . What other religions / cultures can I play as to mitigate this . I have watched countless youtube vids and only one by... ( can I say his name ?) talks about this in a practical way which , even then , I wasnt clear on ( moving your realm capital) . so , there you go :-)
I was actually planning on doing one of these for a while. Succession is one of the more complicated topics so hopefully ill be able to clear things up!
if your faith has monasticism like christianity you can force your sons to become monks which disinherits them if they wont take the vows you can then try to imprison them and force them to if your faith doesnt have this you can imprison your sons when your 50 and execute them BUT this can cause major issues also if you reform your religion dont make it equal because this will allow your daughters to partition your kingdom
I have 800 housecarls because I formed the English culture along with 1600 pikes and 800 archers should I replace replace the housecarls with less expensive pokes I have hi buildings
thank you i just brute force with number
what about quality of the army , how to raise it to higher ? ( can't add more the man-at-arms )
Lord help me! The tutorial didn't mention any of this and I played through the whole thing! Now I just need to understand I keep facing war declarations so early in the game before I've had any time to build a proper army.
i wanted to be a knight but horse archer nomadic seems dope
My other question now is how ur army maintenance is over 40/month, but u are still getting around 50/month. Plus u got 3.5k gold!!! The max gold I get is 700, and that's only by saving.. my realm is living on 10 gold/month xD
ya it helps to have a massive gold income for sure. I am actually working on a video about increasing your gold per month right now!
I found a gold nugget of a tip from another commenter. Search out bishops. Some are loaded with cash. You can find a goldmine bishop sitting on top of 30k gold sometimes. My local bishop can gain 20k gold throughout one of my monarch's lifetime. I make them my emergency fund. Next you need to focus on high intrigue, specifically kidnapping. Kidnap the bishop, recruit him to your court with a hook on him. Then for a legitimate capture reason you either get the pope to excommunicate him or make him a witch then expose him. Imprison him then banish him. Way faster than waiting on your income. Sometimes prompts comes out about a sinful bishop being exposed. Check them out to see if they have money. The pope would be more likely to agree on excommunicating them if they're exposed.

Today was the day I finally learned how to recharge supplies..
You know that having a huge variety of Men at Arms is not actually the best way to compose an army? Spamming one unit-type is far better because of how buildings and duchy buildings work. +No Ai will ever counter 5k of one MAA type. So unless you're playing Multiplayer you're far better of with one unit-type that is buffed to infinity. Especially if those MAA that you're buffing are cultural MAA.
Wow, I have only been buying men at arms with prestige
This game…I started off as my home town, conquering GB and fairplay it is soooo hard to maintain the kingdom with so many fucking revolutions, I don’t even tax my citizens and they hate me. I even banned clothing
Banning clothing is always the right play, they should be happy to have you. Ungrateful peasants
@@Zieley I dunno if you’re familiar with r/ShitCrusaderKingsSay but I’d highly recommend checking it out! A uh, very interesting place….very interesting….just use a VPN ;)
@@LeopaldStraus Why a VPN for reddit?
Great video! Can you make a video explaining why my wife keeps cheating on me?
I just might have to
I need to conquer this nation named Brittany I have 3000 and he has 1200 troops and I keep losing
I feel like they do have a decent tutorial but no one gives it enough of a shot before going off on their own and trying whatever they initially bought the game for
New update: find someone with a Norse culture, hybridize your culture with them, sail longships full of Husqvarnas everywhere
Lols computer in the mountains 😂😭😭
Number 16 burger king foot lettuce
I know I'm late to this but I feel like an absolute idiot not knowing there is more than levies and knighfs after 10 hours of gameplay
In CK2 times some people were joking that after 200 hours you start to understand basic mechanics. CK3 is way easier but it will take some time nonetheless. 10 hours is definitely only scratching the surface so don't be harsh on yourself.
Ok i drop a nuke on a sub button :D
Is this the daily dose of internet guy?
no
HOI4 is more of a large scale than CK III and HOI4 Has ofc frontlines wich make me lazier to command stuff
war elephants, problem solved.
yeah, the big channels are full of shyt and are pretty much clueless have a sub make a vidya on province control and rebellions
Whatever you ask Uncle
@@Zieley hell yeah, feel my dread
