Statistics regarding the "dry well" from recent representative studies: 50% of all hetero men have not approached or talked to a woman in the past 12 months. In those 50%, Zoomers (18-25) are more risk-averse with 59% having not approached women, in comparison to Millennials (26-40) with 48%. Looking just at the last month, a substantial amount of men have not approached or talked to women (82% Zoomers, 75% Millennials). In the entire dataset, 29% of hetero men said they gave never approached any women for various reasons. Amongst the most popular: fear of rejection, fear of legal repercussions, fear of public humiliation, and women not appearing to be approachable.
