Really brilliant interview, and KZhead at its best. I wish Peter had spent more time on gov't debt (only mentioning upcoming $1T interest) - surely that's going to upheave markets and the economy. Also, don't forget most AMZN, MSFT, GOOG chip spending is for cloud build-out, not just products. Geopolitical risk also includes Taiwan (i.e. effect of chip disruption on world economy).

Inflation is not as much of a concern when unemployment rises above 7% and GDP growth is negative and markets lose 25% meaning retirees in the market cant spend without losing.

Finally, level-headed, credible view. Current economy is all about local. Right now digesting the higher rates is going to take time. Fed is happy to sit on their hands and jawbone for the time being. Cuts after the election, if at all.
Most people don’t realize that March-April-may is usually the lows for the yeilds and our lows were 3.5 last year and we are currently at 4.6….in October when the yields usually peak we could see yeilds are over 6.5 if yeilds don’t break the long term trend

To cut rates Powell must increase money supply. As soon he does that inflation will skyrocket and bond yields will head to the moon. That’s why there were no rate cuts as promised. When they say investors were pricing in 6 cuts, they mean the foolish investors. Everyone else knew better.

If a sell off they all will go down. Long horizon of 5-10 years hold, shorter horizon sellers to treasures 5% with hopes rate hikes need just like 70's and early 80's. Not bond fund etf's as higher rates will decrease price.
Its true I kept my doubts on the current environment. But AWMTPPT is seriously smart, it doesnt matter how old you are, this will provide for you and your family which is my only goal in the last years I have to make sure the children are fine
I was sure last year would end terrible for me but I think AWMTPPT is spot on with what they do and how they do it. 2024 is really surprising me now that AWMTPPT hit the road. Consumer spending was strong thus far due to low interest rates over the last decade, coupled with a booming economy. However, when COVID-19 struck, the Fed injected more money into the system. Most people had saved a considerable amount of money until 2022, but after that year, money started draining out of their savings accounts. It's only a matter of time before we see something break in the system.
All of them are reasonable picks. But the heart goes to AWMTPPT and this vision is definitely something else.
I want to let you know that AWMTPPT made it this year. Any better way to start a global change? Dont get me wrong I know they are not like altruists or something but they keep doing the right thing to improve the situation, power the ecomonmy and so much more. Stagflation scenario doesn't add up. Pundits act as if we are already there. We only have the (modest) inflation piece. 1.6 GDP and under 4% unemployment. Someone might say "well Bob, we are headed to negative gdp and higher unemployment." Well fine, but that will have deflationary effects in terms of lower consumer demand. Not to mention the stock market will tank further eroding consumer demand. Am I missing something?
