Jim Corbett the author of the Man Eaters of Kumaon lived here next to Chotti Haldwani. He wrote qaw number of best selling books about Man eaters and India. The Corbett family home at Arundel and Jim and Maggie's home at Choti Haldwani, Kaladhungi. The care the villagers have taken to remember Jim and preserve his memory in such a special way.

I have enjoyed reading 'Carpet Sahib - A Life of Jim Corbett' By Martin Booth. For me in filled in many of the blanks that Jim doesn't mention in his books. I have also used this as the main source for the wording in my commentary in my attempt to travel back in time.

The place Arundale was Jim Corbett's Father's house. (Christopher William Corbett's Winter home). . Corbett has spent his childhood around Arundale and the farmyard. He lived and learned from both Places Gurney house and Arundale. There are so many stories and life events of him lies around this place. Like the place they used to take dip in the canal, the first leopard hunting, the last tiger hunting, Peepal Panni tigress and so many other known and unknown stories and life events. The place Arundale has been restored by the owner's and this Place is now known as Corbett Farmyard Safari Lodge. (But the original Building is still a private property and yes travellers, photographers,riders, birders and safari enthusiasts stay here at Corbett Farmyard. the triangle you were talking about can be seen on the google maps easily. . And yes we are working on promoting the place and surroundings. ❤

Still feel it was a wrong decision..if he had stayed back he would have been revered by the Indians as we look and believe at quality and merit in everyone… he was born here and naturally it was his own country and the contributions he had is overwhelming…still feel if he died it should have been in his own country where he was born which is India…God bless his soul…
I support your view. India was his country first and foremost, he was at one with the people. If you look at what happened when he got to Kenya, his sister Maggie in particular struggled, very badly, finding it hard to settle in a land she didn't know. Kenya was not India. I grew up in Kenya, the first 16 years of my life. My mother was born in Uganda. Even though I have lived in Britain now for over 50 years, I am first and foremost a Kenyan. I believe the first years of life form who you are. I visited India for the first time in 1997. I have been eight times now. I absolutely love India, the country, its people and wildlife. This last trip I visited Nainital and Kaladhungi giving me a special insight in to Jim Corbett's world. I feel I know him a little better. The love that still exists for him today, is immeasurable. Yes he made the wrong decision. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all.
Thanks🐅🐯👍 Hope someone with better Tech Resources and Skill Sets than me adds extra 2 columns and makes an Excel Spread Sheet to 28:00 A Column specifying the type and gender and another, the project duration on that predator, and making it available on Public Domains will help future researchers and Historians. We stand on the shoulders of those who preceded us and learn from their experiences (and mistakes) Jim was a man ahead of his times, averse to risks of friendly fire by demanding exclusivity on his projects. He was mostly reluctant to take others along, except Ibbotson lest there be any collateral damage.
I had to try and work out what you were talking about. I presume you are referring to the various maneaters - type (leopard or tiger) - Gender (male or female) - maneater duration (how many years and months). Interesting point.
@@JamesRattray Thanks for your time and reply. I meant a column saying Tiger / Tigress / Leopard / Leopardess, and another, the number of days from Jim's decision to the his task completion. For example your viewers searching youtube for T23 Tiger will find it took 22 Days to complete the operation, in this case instead of shooting, a life-sentence in Mysore Zoo in solitary confinement for the offender.
