Glad you liked it! Thank you!
hello sir loved your review , i would have 2 questions please , what's the wattage of the graphics card , and is the laptop light for mobility in terms of weight and dimensions , thank you
Good vid, subbed!
Appreciate it!
I bought the same model in the Ryzen version. can't wait to get my hands on it.
Can you link to where you bought yours
Nice, let me know how you like it
the one with the ryzen 7 7745hx?
@@Luciano-jh5mq I got the one on sale on Best Buy right now. Sale ends today.
Part Number 82WM0006US@@itummy18
We settled on the 7745hx 4070 32gb 5200 and 1tb sdd config, it's going for 1757 cad right now with the sale and a coupon, or about $1300 usd. Absolutely briliant unit for the price.
Awesome! Yeah this thing is a beast
@@hartomethoddo you know if there is a way to under volt the Ryzen 7 7745HX by any chance?
I don’t but maybe msi afterburner could help
i got almost the same for 100$ less on ebay kleinanzeigen with the RTX 4070. Other things match the specs you mentioned. It was quite a good deal, especially when looking for new ones on google, the price shows at around §1.3K which is 1.1K more than what i paid plus the used one i got has lenovo premire warranty until november 2025
Im considering getting the i7-13700hx rtx 4060 16” 240Hz 500nits with 100% srgb and 16gb ram 512gb ssd. This was a great review of the regular gaming i would put the laptop in and I have been impressed with the really good thermals on the cpu/gpu going up to only around 70°c which is crazy good especially for the cpu. Im also impressed by the fact that it is a full powered 4060 140W which is amazing performance! All for $1,200
That’s an awesome deal!
$1149 now on B and H
Yo why is it so cheap compared to my country
hey bro im gonna buy the same version of yours do you recommend this model? I dont care fps in other games i only care CS2 performance since it has 240hz display i want to get stable 240fps at least what do you think about it?
thanks, nice vid. subbed! :)
Awesome, thank you!
didnt realise at the time but i just picked up the Pro 5i with the I9 processor but a 4060 , theres so many configurations available but couldnt pass up black friday deals here in Australia it was 2.3k Aud down from 3k
Still a beefy machine!
@jakebettini3613 Brother can u share the link where u bought it from?
I just placed for i9 4070
One of the best reviews I have seen, just try COD MW3 was missing :D, I want to buy the same Laptop, and this review was very usefull to know more about it.
Glad I could help! Appreciate the kind words. MW3 would run great on this machine
I just got the lenovo legion pro 5i 16” LCD i7 core 13th gen 32gb Ram RTX 4060 DDR5 with 1 TB ssd for like 1200$, i cant wait to receive it in a couple days! Awesome video!
Sick deal!
Did you go for 165 or 240hz
@@TerrannotOP it was the 165hz but I honestly like the 32gb ram over the 240hz screen
They have it on B&H right now for $1,179. i7, GTX 4060, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 240HZ
I just purchased mine form b&h. Do you have any overheating problem with this laptop so far ?
Thanks, thinking of getting the 5i (gen 9) for gaming, costs about £1300 here in the UK and seems to me to be the best option I have for gaming at that price (wouldn't want to spend much more). I've seen lots of amazing reviews for the 5i pro and the the slim but not really much for the standard 5i, I'm guessing it's still a good choice though, or is there a reason why most people seem to go for the other models?
I don’t think the names matter too much. As long as the specs are good, you should have no worries
Just picked mine up. I9 14th gen, 2tb ssd, 4070. Got it on sale for 1720. Not too bad for the price!
Dope
How do you like it so far? I'm planning to buy the same model
thanks for the review! id also like to buy the exact model that you have but with a 240hz display instead, but can this laptop handle crucial 5600mhz ram? and my second question is: can i use the type c port at the back to charge the laptop using a smaller 100w charger? Because i move a lot during the day and lugging around that massive power brick isn't really appealing to me
I’d confirm that it’s DDR5 ram (check online to see if it works with the cpu). You can use the Usbc charging port but it just won’t give you the same power output when gaming compared to normal 300W power adapter
@@hartomethod icic, tysm dude!
Hey man nice review. I was looking into a 1800 € (here in Italy kind of a good deal) legion pro 5i gen 8 (i7 3700hx; Rtx 4070 8gb; 32gb RAM; 1tb Storage). I don't really need a gaming laptop, but I do need their performance to run Autodesk 3d engineering apps and some programming. However, I would like to have your perspective on the fan noise when doing easy and daily stuff (Word, ...). At the end of the day, having to write a lot I would like a powerful machine but not so noisy. Thanks in advance for the attention, have a good day 😉
You can always manually set the fan speed but I even on auto I haven’t noticed it ramping up unless I’m doing more intense tasks/gaming
I've bought such a model only for 1500€
So in my country this laptop but 500 nits display one is prized at 2170 dollars(not the MRP) so I imported it from USA for net cost of 1270 dollars. That is like a once in decade deal for me!
Nice!
The 32GB of memory really shines on this laptop, best thing I did was grabbing the 32GB version
RAM is slept on. For sure a great upgrade.
I bought the same laptop except with 32G RAM and 1TB SSD. I highly suggest you don't set the Thermal Mode in the Lenovo Vantage settings to Performance. Doing so will cause your cpu and gpu to run max while gaming, even if the game doesn't require it. I was getting very high temps on both the cpu 95C and gpu 75C. The fans were running at high speed for most of the time I was gaming. I decided to try some changes as I was very concerned with the constant high temps. So I changed my settings to Custom and, most importantly, ticked the Legion AI option. My cpu and gpu are now both running about 15-20C cooler with way less fan noise BUT most surprisingly there was no fps loss in my games. I just post this as a suggestion to anyone with this laptop to at least give these settings a go.
Yeah I agree that the AI option is a safe bet to keep on. It’ll ramp things up only when needed
Great review, Thx. I'm planning to buy this laptop to play resident evil 4 remake in VR. Do you think that the 4070 is enough or should I go with the 4080? Thx again.
If possible go for 4080 otherwise 4070 is also good
^ agreed. They’ll both handle it
@@hartomethod I found a deal: Open Box - MSI Vector GP 16" Gaming Laptop - Cosmos Grey (Intel Core i9-13950HX/1TB SSD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 4080). I saw that the screen is not that good but I’m willing to connect it to Tv. Any thoughts? Thx!
I think that’s an awesome deal, especially if you’re gonna hook it up to another screen
They had customized option to add 500nits 240hz screen for 15USD.
Oh nice! That wasn’t on sale when I was purchasing
I got the pro 5i for around $1900 in total with i9 13900hx 32gb ram rtx 4070 and 2tb ssd cause I asked the store to help me install 1 more ssd, there was an event going on and it came with a free wireless headphones and mouse from Lenovo. Very happy with this recent purchase, comparatively expensive but on the cheaper side for these specs in my region. I planned to get the pro 7i for $2000 but deals didn’t exist here and shipping is prohibited LMAO
That’s an amazing deal! Cheaper than what I got it for
@@hartomethodis RTX 4070 worth it as compared to the RTX 4060 configuration?
I think it’s a nice little boost. I wouldn’t pay too much extra for a 4070 compared to a 4060
@@hartomethod the 4070 costs $250 extra compared to configuration that has 4060. (Both Have AMD ryzen processors , both have 16GB ram and 1TB SSD)
i could only get the amd version with r7 7745hx, but i would like to know where does the cpu temperature should max out, because i see the r7 7745hx gets easily to 100°C and it s obviously not good at all, so what maximum tolerable temperature do you considere as a limit for the cpu ?
I honestly don’t know since I have the intel cpu. I’d see if there’s anything online mentioning a limit/max. You can always throttle the cpu in the bios settings.
Considering getting this but im afraid it might overheat. I mostly thought of playing cod, valorant and other less demanding games for probably no more than 3h at a time most days. Would overheating really be an issue especially during the summer when it's +30celsius outside and stuff.
This laptop is really good at heat dissipation. I’ve played 3+ hours on AAA games and have had no issues.
It took me reinstalling the Lenovo Vantage to let me customise the keyboard lights.
Nice
Hello, good day, I have a question, is there much difference between the version with RTX 4060 and the RTX 4070? I just have a Lenovo Legion laptop with an RTX 3070 and I am interested in getting this new version
If you have a 3070 I’d honestly recommend just keeping that and saving your money
10:38 not quite, the last gen laptop 3060 is already neck and neck to the desktop 3060
That’s dope!
Can that small port be used to charge the laptop ? 3:21 How much wattage should that cable have ? I would like to have a smaller charger
You can use the smaller port but I believe it caps at 90-100 watts
Hi, would this be a good choice for photo and video editing? Or am I better of with a refurbished macbook pro m2. At the moment I'm not interested in much gaming but who knows ..
It depends on what software you want to use. I owned a MacBook first so I use that but if you’re not investing in the ecosystem then using this would for sure be enough
@@hartomethodeven if you were in the apple echo system, its never too late to get your hands on new tools and work on learning and mastering them it just take some time to get used to it, switching from nano to vim or nevim probably takes more time than switching the video editing software tho because the keybindings in all major video editing softwares are mostly the same.
thank you. I'm looking forward to my i9 4070 version.
Nice!
How do you like it so far? I'm planning on buying the same model
did you have the 13700hx chip? How does this compare to HP omen 16 FHD w/ r9 7940hs and rtx 4070?
I have the i7 cpu. I think it’s pretty comparable with gaming compared to the HP
As a Uni student whats more worth it long term, an openbox Legion Pro 5 i9 4070 512gb($1900 CAD after tax) or LOQ 16 i7 4060 1TB ($1600) or the same 4050 LOQ 16 which is $1400
If you’re going for long term I’d always recommend something with a higher cpu and gpu. If you have the money go with the i9 but the i7 is really good as well. In general, any of these options will be able to handle your school work and gaming
Just got it with i9-13900hx 4070 1tb ssd and 32gb ram for same price😄
That’s a steal of a price! Nice!
when you say you paid 1300 usd, does it unclude taxes ? Thanks for answer...

bro, Can i buy this laptop for 4k video editing perpose? Actually i Don't like mac system, Because i love Gaming. What you think about think about this laptop in 4k 4:2:2 video editing??
If you have a monitor that supports 4K resolution I’m fairly certain that the legion can handle it. A 4070 mobile gpu is pretty capable
What was the last game you were playing at the end of the video?
Cyberpunk and Fortnite
I was thinking about getting the legion pro 5i gen 8 intel with RTX 4060 core i7 13700HX and 165hz with tax it turns out to be $1776.63 also just with a hundred more i can get 240hz instead, i don’t know if that would be worth it but i could also get slim 5 with RDM ryzen 7 7840HS RTX 4060 and 165hz which would be $1672.38 I can’t decide.
Honestly I don’t really run games about 144 hz anyway so I’d say it just depends on how you play. The slim is also a nice option and a little more portable
What would perform better? A Legion 5 pro with i7 13700hx and 4060, or Legion 5 slim with Ryzen 7 7840hs and 4070?
I’d say the CPU’s are pretty evenly matched. I’d go with the slim 5 with the 4070
Did you run these games in the dGPU mode or the Hybrid Mode?
Also, did you face any random stuttering issues while gaming?
I kept it on hybrid because the computer doesn’t good job of knowing how much power something needs. I haven’t run into any stuttering
I have the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro from 2023 with i7 13700HX with turbo boost it can reach up to 5.GHz, 8 performance cores and 8 Efficiency cores with 24 Threads, RTX 4070 8Gb GDDR6 VRAM 140W TGP, 2560x1600 IPS panel 240Hz with 500 Nits, 16Gb DDR5 RAM 4800MHz, 1Tb nvmE SSD that is blazing fast. how would you compare it to the asus rog strix 16
They’re pretty comparable power wise. I honestly think the main difference is that this looks more like an everyday laptop and isn’t as RGB flashy.

Any reason you want low graphics?
@@hartomethod yes because i play competitive and i need around 240 fps... by putting the game in performnce mode, putting all the settings on low, playing on 1080p and disabling optimus, it should be fine. This happens because fortnite uses up a lot of fps for graphics...

That’s a fair price since this specs are pretty good. If you wanted to save money you could go for a lower hertz screen and lower ssd (then add one yourself). But as far as heat dissipation goes, heat is NOT a problem on this laptop

In day to day use I haven’t had any issues with the brightness. It looks great when playing games and that’s with the window being behind me. Of course it’s not great in direct sunlight but it’s still very good
how are the thermals!?!
Great! I’ve played for 5 hours straight on it and notice no throttling and no discomfort from the heat on the keyboard
Does it have fingerprint scanner
Nope
Unless you must have a windows computer, id go Macbook. Even the M1 Macbook Pro, kills the i9 chips in ALL benchmarks + WAY brighter screen. Yes I know, dongle life right . . . $59, for a solid dock. If have the finances id go M2 Macbook Pro (Ports), and 1st in class bootup, and outstanding performance. If all you doing is streaming content, and Non-Editing work, the Macbook Air with M1 is great as well.
It cant even run gta 4

Macbooks are like crossfitters who perform and look really good, until they need to fight. Then they get squashed
