In the case of chess? If you are not half decent how are you supposed to get hyped over some move when you don't know what the fuck is going on exactly? You NEED to have an investment in chess to really appreciate what's going on, but that isn't the case for other general sports/esports, which again is just an explanation as to why chess is just not that popular with general audiences

As a beginning/intermediate level player here, this commentator explains things in a way that illuminates the subtleties of their play but also communicates the moves in a way that I can understand. Not just describing the moves and big theories, but saying things like "he will make the trade on his terms" or "he moves agreeing to the trade". Also he keeps up with the tempo of the game, when it gets exciting and tense he conveys that with the speed of his speech etc. Also just great nailbiting game.

  • It’s quite amazing that Magnus has somehow managed to get a draw out of that situation. That’s why he’s the world champion

  • For those who don’t know who wins d game Answer is : No one ( it’s DRAW )😅 So those who thinks why draw? Let’s allow them to play until one lose. Answer: It’s not possible Both have same pices And both are in such position they can’t afford to play different moves elz opponent will get chance to win d game. So basically they will play same same moves and in chess repetition considered DRAW. So they save d time too 😅 by shaking hands & hence game is draw.
