  • The visual artist Marcin Pospiech has just made us a beautiful visualiser for our cover of “Song To The Siren”. We were originally asked to record it for use in a television show that ultimately decided against using it so it’s been sitting around unheard ever since. We decided it was too good to be left on the bench so we included it in our most recent record store day release. Watch Marvin’s gorgeous efforts here. Listen to our ‘Lie To Me” EP on all streaming platforms.

  • The US alt-rock group Garbage released a Record Store Day-exclusive four-song EP called Lie To Me in April 2024. It contains four previously unreleased tracks from the band, including a couple of collaborations with fellow veterans. The Lie To Me (EP) has two completely new songs, the revved up pop-punk anthem “Better Not Lie To Me” and the clanking, wounded “Revenge And Hurt.” The band co-wrote the former song with Rancid leader Tim Armstrong, and you can totally tell. The EP also has Garbage’s take on “Song To The Siren,” the folk classic that the late Tim Buckley originally released in 1970. There’s also a remix of Garbage’s 2005 track “Bad Boyfriend,” featuring Dave Grohl on drums. Grohl and Garbage drummer Butch Vig go back a long way; they both worked on this obscure album called Nevermind in 1991. Enjoy Jim

  • The song of the siren was undeniable, commanding the audience. Sailors would hear the singing and throw themselves on the rocks. But if the sirens' singing failed to produce a victim, she died. According to some versions of the myth, the sirens are fated to die if sailors were to hear their song and escape. So, to obey the command was to die. To deny it was to kill. The Sirens dilemma.
