  • I worked in a pawn shop when I first heard this song. Watched people from all walks of life walk in and out of mine. Every time I hear this song I think about the single mothers who were taking a loan out on their jewelry, men who were laid off pawning their tools, and older generations selling their wedding sets to buy their prescriptions... I think about their faces almost every day, and say an extra hail Mary for them at bed time. This song brings back a lot for me, sadness mostly for the people who were tied to it.

  • I thought this song was boring at first, until the past weekend when I was driving through the welsh hills, the sun was low but not low enough to blind me, putting an orange haze over the hills, the roads were empty and I was cruising, this came on, and it was well and truly magic.   • I once read that, to some people, music is the closest thing to a holy experience. I believe I'm one of those people and no one brings me closer to that than Coldplay. It's ridiculous how much they change and experiment but stay exactly who they've always been. Their craft is so much more than music, you can see it, and feel it and taste it. Seeing them live was an experience that I still can't put into words and I'm beyond happy they're back.
