Inside Laura Jackson’s ultra-Instagrammable east London house | Living with Style
Known for presenting on shows like Take Me Out: The Gossip, Big Brother’s Little Brother and This Morning, as well as hosting her east London supper club with Alice Levine, Laura Jackson has more recently made a name in interior design. When she moved into her east London home, she shared her renovation journey with her followers on Instagram, from choosing whether to keep the existing living room wallpaper to the type of carpet to use on her stairs.
Now she is launching her own homeware platform, Glassette, and to celebrate, she invited The Sunday Times Style to take a look around inside her ultra-Instagrammable space, from the bathroom fireplace she discovered when knocking down a wall, to the plants she found on Gumtree and the napkins and spices she bought on holiday in Sri Lanka.

This was beautifully shot for the most part but I was sad there wasn’t much pans of the entire rooms, just little close ups so it was hard to get a real feel for the place.
It's hard to pan inside an East London house, they are super tiny!

Always suspicious when a tour doesn't include the actual tour
@@Letheseus Why and what are you suspicious of?
Typical of most KZhead house/interior walk throughs. And the sound is all over the place too.
“A house is a film set of your life” well said 😍
Asserting nicotine stained old wallpaper to be interesting and chic is officially the most "Shoreditch" thing i've ever heard.
Wow also if it's nicotine stained that's an indicator of how heavy the indoor smoking was... So yeah NBD just off gassing third hand smoke to you and everyone that visits your home 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ just remove or remediate properly
I'm wondering if it smells also ew
ugh gross! Not impressed . So boring to hear about each flipping nick knack.
Da
So gross!
As if the Instagrammable kitchen wasn't enough, the wood-burning fireplace in the bath truly made me swoon.
Wow...so many critical comments! Who cares how much it costs to renovate and how relatable she is or isn't. It was a beautiful house tour but if not your style, no need to troll.
Exactly the content people need. This reminds me so much of my parents' home when they were younger. Full of books and music and plants - this is a home where people do things. Sometimes its adopt plants, sometimes its restore windows, sometimes it cook or bake new things. Yes it is truly lovely to look at but the deep inspiration to me is the lives it reveals. Whatever your goals for your home, be sure it reflects the life you want not just the look you want.
My god, that bathroom and the kid’s room are absolutely stunning. So much character though I agree with some of the other comments. Wish they did fuller shots of the entire rooms so we could get a better feel for the size and overall room orientation.

Lovely home!! Wish we could've had more shots at different angles to see the big picture

I shove my linens in the cupboard too. It was so nice that you do the same, and aren’t afraid to show everyone!
An absolutely warm and welcoming atmosphere. No perfect showrooms! Decent colors, a "collecting style" with pretty items, added with nice plants all over the place. One can tell... You are living there..... your decorating is practical and the best.... Not everything in perfect tidiness 😊
When I announced that I was having my kitchen in a conservatory, everyone thought that I was bonkers. I ignored everyone, and now have a sitting area at one side, and a kitchen at the other, separated by an island. I cannot imagine ever having a kitchen in a normal room again. My kitchen is light, but not overly bright because I have blinds on the roof, and the two parts of the conservatory are filled with plants, it's like cooking in a jungle, especially when the doors are open. No one says I'm bonkers now...well at least not to my face...😉
That sounds like such a dreamy kitchen..I can imagine the joy of cooking in such a space
I love the house, and the wallpaper exactly as it is. Your kitchen would be my dream kitchen. Beautiful
My dream home😍 So warm, eclectic and lived in.
She’s amazing and her home is as well. Comfort and cozy is what this property resembles.
No matter where you live, small/big house and apartment, jusy decorate it freely with the style you like, display the objects you love and cherish, and ultimately enjoy the place where you and your family feel happy and satisfied, which means " home". Thanks for posting another interesting house.
Feels like such a comfortable, cosy, lived in home 🏡
What an elegant and soothing home! Lovely indeed!
I love your spirit. This is what feels like a forever home!
Lovely! Thanks Laura, wish u & your family many happy years there! 🥰💞🪴
Beatiful home. Wish the video was longer!
Beautiful house I love the plant and the kitchen . The wallpaper and living room is beautiful make the house class warm and cozy I love the wallpaper ,
Love Laura! The video could have done with some wider shots of her beautiful home though, barely got to see how the bathroom hangs together.
I agree. I feel like I saw her mostly and not the house🤷🏽♀️
Absolutely love love the kitchen, especially the pantry!
Love this place. And she is so down to earth. Thanks STS 💯
You guys just satisfied my craving a tiny bit ❤️ Love architecture and interior design
I’d like to have seen more of the sunroom!!! It looks beautifully a relaxed room!
My Lord I love watching rich people’s home tours. 😍 I’m totally jealous, but ughh soo beautiful
So pretty really enjoyed watching this 💕
Congratulations Laura on the space! This was a wonderfully curated video 🧿💙
I love this; it feels so warm 🥰
Love love love, very original! Also love your photography!
Absolutely love the kitchen, very unique and earthy
Good vibes. I don’t know why but this house tour lift my mood.
Absolutely love her and her house. The hanging plants around the pantry door is so cute. And the linen cupboard in her kitchen look just like mine and that made me feel better.
I have the same cupboard in the kitchen and it also made me feel seen.
Such a lovely homely, home. I was born and bred in East London in the 60’s to 80’s (the good old days when life was more simple) and I miss it so much. I live in Australia now. The large framed photos gave me an idea to get a large black and white print made of my Dad’s old grocery shop in Stepney from the 60’s and get it framed. I can’t wait to do that! Thank you! 😍👍🏻
Aw this is lovely
@@aroidpapa thank you 😍
@Channel of Channels. Yes you must do that! I used to live in Essex too, South Woodford 😊
Great idea 👍🏻
That's beautiful ❤️ hello to you from the New Forest x
To all house tour interior i watched. your house decor is my favorite. Cozy organized and pleasing.
I love the kitchen, so lovely and homely too.
Absolutely, beautiful!
I love this place has character and life. It's so beautiful!
What a lovely home, I'd never leave it.
love the vibe!!!
I can feel the love in this home from my bedroom down under. I could live there easily.
That bathroom was dope. 💘 love the walk I shower with window. Bringing that tub in wasn't worth the trouble.
really beautiful home; i can tell how happy you are living there; congratulations
Gorgeous!!!!
Home is Great,She's Amazing❤
Love this house and love Laura!
Beautiful family home. 👍🥰

Love your home! ❤

I want that olive green jumpsuit. Stunning.
So charming!
She is naturally beautiful wow so pretty love her house ❤️
She is such a doll..!
Beautiful
The House and its Hostess; both Charming!
That is actually a house ( not s decor set)! Just beautiful and cozy vibes. Effortless ❤️
Nice sharing 👍
everything's either vintage or made for her!!! my sustainable icon
Okay but also, sorry beautiful home. Absolutely stunning design choices.
Love!
Les seré sincera...nunca he visto una cocina con cara de invernadero y me encantó porque es diferentes y muy amplio y luminoso es diferente y me impacta mucho felicidades al diseñador de esa cosina 😊
The kitchen is absolutely stunning!! The only thing I would switch out is photos from Leeds for photos from Bali or the Mediterranean (no offence to Leeds lol I just think the Bali/Med would better suit all that lush greenery).
What a charming woman and a lovely house!
What a lovely personality as well!
She is cool. Thank you.
Love the whole video nice job. By the way which music is that 🤔🎶🎶🎧
Beautiful and she is so lovely
Very nice 😊
Retrouvius' cabinet kitchen? I admire its work so so much and I'm enjoying look how is flowing to mainstream
I stayed through the tobacco stained wallpaper chat, the roundabout and warehouse photos but when the tour of the napkin drawer started I had to call it a day Sunday Times...
Might be a strange question but - what font are you using for the title? I love it :o ♥
Καλημέρα ωραίο το διαμέρισμα μπράβο 🤗
Ok but how sweet were the cheese plant family 😭 I can really relate, my cheese plant has been through 3 house moves with me and we are just bonded now lol. His name is Charles (the cheese plant) I would definitely wave him goodbye if we had to part ways.
I mostly envy the travel, though that kitchen would be perfect in that climate.
Her home is an absolute delight! The way the music seamlessly transitions when she enters the bedroom creates such a cozy and calm ambience, making it feel like a true retreat. And oh, the kitchen! The fantastic lighting enhances the space, giving it a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's clear that her house has that special "je ne sais quoi" vibe, making it perfect for entertaining guests.
Fun lovely house natural
I've wanted to create a home like this all my life; came close a couple of times...
Is it the music, the colors, her personality or what exactly…? The house if full of lovely choices It’s a mess. BUT Absolutely charming
Beautiful house. We didnt get many shots from different perspectives meaning that you couldnt actually get an idea of each room
Thank god..its finally a real home
Kind of sad to hear her walk into the master bedroom and say, "the magic doesn't happen in here" perhaps that is a bit too much information! Hope the magic is happening somewhere. ✨ I would have that cigarette stained wallpaper down in a NY minute -- no left over carcinogenic particles hanging on my walls -- just disgusting that someone's exhaled cigarette smoke is hanging on my living room wall paper -- gross ! Take it down and find something similar, fresh and clean ! Working fireplace in the bathroom is fabulous and who wouldn't want to spend a relaxing hour soaking with a cracking fire✨👏✨
Maybe she just meant that they didnt do much to it yet she it's not worth showing?
I love, love, love that wallpaper, and I love that it looks aged! Don't listen to your prissy critics!
I loved it too! Can't see what's so bad, it's just the same as an old battered sofa or a well worn rug; character and history. Loved it!
what was the name of that cookbook from the famous San Fran restaurant? thanks...love the video!
I am not sure, but it is from the Zuni Cafe.
@@Bella-tj4ti thank u! :)
Love the armchairs dont reupholster them. The bathroom is fantastic with a fireplace.
She is AMAZING.
I've only watched you for like maybe 2 minutes and you've made me smile! Subscribing and be back for more!
What's the title of the cookbook which has the recipe of chichen salad?
4:19 Friend: *hint hint*
🌼❤️
Seriously why would you leave the house? It's heaven.
It seems quite dark, the house is lacking natural light in some areas. Adéquate wall colour and increasing lighting should do the trick
Listen to Liz Jones’ Podcast from 19th November 2021. She has the audacity to say that lovely Laura only has her “Georgian” home because her Husband is a Banker. He’s actually a Photographer, and I’m sure that Laura has contributed equally to having such a nice home. It’s not saying much for Liz Jones’s thoughts on female empowerment is it. 🤷🏻♀️
even if she did have the house thanks to her husband's income... this is about her style and we all know that having money does not equal having good taste
Didn't know who she was but nice house. Started off sounding quite plummy but got more and more northern as she went on 😂
Does the nicotine stained wallpaper smell like smoke? Love that kitchen 😊
GOOD GOOD
why'd she say "where the magic doesn't happen" 😭😭 help
