My only problem with this movie is that there was no duet with Cher and Christina.

I will never understand the Xtina hate train back in the day. This film had everything: acting skills, vocals, dance moves, photography, soundtrack, script… She was PHENOMENAL and to be featured alongside side Cher and Tucci, she delivered what was expected. What a shame.
She's a good actress in music videos, but not a good actress in Hollywood

Not a huge fan of musicals, but when this scene hit... pfft it became one of my favorite movies. Now this is watched at least three times a year. Christina in this stage of her career to me was at her very best with the Jazzy Blues.

It’s crazy how good this cast actually is
I just love everything about this scene, by trying to sabotage her she actually granted her dream and she took it.
Plus - I don't know what Nikki really thought was going to happen. Dave was going to rat her out - and then Tess would have fired her for pulling a costly stunt like that, since the club was already struggling and that's a surefire way to lose more patrons. Ali not only saved the act, but she also most likely saved Nikki's ass (here).
Christina has one of the best voices in the business.

What's sad is that when she was little she outdid all the other kids in every contest she entered to the point where the parents who encouraged her mom to put Christina in the contests began to turn on her & her mom. And when she went to her prom they played her song "Genie In a Bottle" & everyone walked off the dance floor most likely the girls pulled their dates off the floor & wouldn't let their dates talk to Christina because they were very jealous of her. To me that's just mean, cruel & disrespectful I would not only let my date talk to Christina I would be right there with him congratulating her on her success I would probably be nervous around her.
Cher isn't in her league.
I love that Nikki was trying to ruin her and just made her the most popular and showed Tess her Alice’s power and talent. Makes me smile every time.

Xtina totally gives me chills every time I hear this scene. She's so magically & incredibly talented. The whole freaking cast is, but she is so irreplaceable in this role. No one is doing it like her. Not even Kristen Bell (though she's wonderful, too!) Such an amazing & inspiring movie!!!! Wow!!!

When this movie came out it reminded me of why I appreciated xtina's talent. Such a powerful gift she has and thought definitely could not have casted a better singer than her. Yes, absolutely, props to all the others involved however I feel that she was the light in it and just overshadowed everyone else.

Love the film, the whole Burlesque vibe with the hair, makeup, costumes, this scene is the hair raising in back of your neck when you hear that powerful Xtina voice, most of the songs are amazing in it, Tough lover, You haven't Seen the last of me, Somethings got a hold on me, and Bound to you is a beautiful ballad. I think the cast and director did a great job and it's a nice film to watch.

I bought Burlesque on DVD at a second hand store when I was younger and would play it on my tiny tv :,) I watched Chicago at a pretty young age and was excited to give something more modern a try, pleasantly surprised by both Cher and Xtinas performances, I then watched it so many times that I grew tired of it over the next few years lol. This still gives me goosebumps

Right after I saw this movie and just adored this scene, I tried to buy the sheet music book that came out with the movie's song list in it. I had to wait several weeks because their initial supply was already gone. That's how popular this movie was and how great Christina and Cher were performing in it.
