crow and dog playing with pingpongball

MAY 2012..ok...a lot of questions...here are some answers :
the wings are NOT cliped (see that in "tin can, i love you").....i did not trained the crow, i just found it near the woods as a very little bird and no parents seen for over 1 hour...
told the dog (yes, she is old but NOT fat...its a lot of hair...) that we have a new friend...showed it how to fly (no, i did NOT run over the grass flapping with my arms...) wenn it could fly, it was gone for a wile, but then cam back nearly every day for playing and asking for food..(sometimes it brought stolen things from the neighbors and i had to bring it back ;-)
and YES, i am a bad@ss ;-)
Crows are so smart, the crow even realized it could play a game with the ball all on its own, moving it around and chasing it. Its fun to watch them and see them figure stuff out
All birds are SMART! I have birds that speak well, even had a European Starling that spoke better than all of my other birds. Birds have the illeigence of a young child.
I had a 3 week-long s*** throwing competition with a crow it ended in me blasting his head off with a slingshot with a three-quarter inch Ball bearing and 2 in rubber strips doubled up on each other there was enough force in that huge ball bearing to pop a car tire and I nailed him rate on the front of the beak and I took his head off every morning he be yelling at me shiting on my car every time I saw him I would throw rocks at him we hated each other I was kind of sad after it ended I gave him a proper burial he's buried in vermilion Alberta next to the superstore
I wanna be friends with a crow so bad!

Thats a very special feeling and youre a very special person. I hope you know that.
I love how no matter what breed, how old, or which dog it is, they all react to new objects by seeing if they can eat it.
Like human baby
It's what happens when you don't have hands. You use your mouth to investigate objects.
😊
Crows are actually intelligent enough to play and do things strictly for the fun of it. That's not really common with birds. It's so cool to watch them hop around and interact with things or each other in fun and creative ways. We once had a wild crow that would play with our old dog. It started with the crow stealing my dog's food and the dog chasing it away, but it eventually led to the two playfully running towards one another. When my dog eventually got tired and laid down, the crow would pull at his tail as if to get him to go after him again. Smart little birds!
Common with corvids though. Magpies, Jays and especially Ravens who dive for fun and practice.
The videos of them sliding down roofs in the snow are the best.
I love that dog how he's seeing his master playing with the crow and just steps in and almost says: "I want to play too, play with me too, you guys."

Hard to tell. Crows never shut the f' up.

Hello there! We used to have an unique crow in our neighborhood. He (maybe she...) used to bark just like a dog. This interesting act occured when this crow was near to dog. The dog ignored the crow but this crow definitely showed an interest in the dog. However he never was within 5 meters from the dog. The crow nether barked when he was away from his friend.
horizonkage crows are very intelligent. All birds are.I watched a documentary once and there were some park crows who always alerted each other whenever the park warden was near. They made as much noise as they could until he left their area. They only made the noise when he appeared, and just to test if it was because of his presence they had someone dress up like him and wear a mask of his face and they done it again. The crows recognised his face.
Oh thank you, you're so kind.

@@nicholasvalentine3907 crows lifespan is 5 - 8 years
@@Skullz.Y.T This just a quick Google but I've heard of much longer crow lives. "Like crows, rooks form long-lasting pair bonds and can live for 20 years."
@@Skullz.Y.T Looking a bit further I found this in Corvid Research, "2) How long do crows live? Once they reach sexual maturity (around 3-4 years) they are tough to take out and can live to be 14-17 years old, though cresting 20 years is not unheard of. In captivity they can live twice as long." So in a large well maintained avery environment they can probably last beyond 35yrs. @@dunkingtruth First, female lions do 90% of the hunting. Male lions do the protecting. No, animals don't "act on instinct". Their brains are hardwired to behave a certain way. Animals can also learn and pass that knowledge down. If a food source dries up, they'll learn to find an alternative. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, you're on the menu. Crows are extremely intelligent...he she was asking the cute dog for the ball....I have seen a crow on somebody's roof grabbing a gallon of milk's plastic seal and using it to slide down to ski down , and then carrying it up, and sliding down again...and that crow was not somebody's pet or trained...they are just smart....I feed them and they recognize me if I am on the other side of town walking, and I know their calling too....I really like crows..
My neighbor feeds them, she loves them and they LOVE her. Even when she is not feeding them, they watch her. Once a dog was loose and it was running barking down that hill, he was in attack mode. The crowd one by one took flew down to startle the dog. They were at it like bombarding planes. They made so much ruckus that the dog not only took off running in the opposite direction of the lady; the dog tripped on his own. Those birds were an arming in fight mode, just to defend their friend. I respect them.
@@user-ip7rn7bi6e There's a lady on Utube who studied the crows on her college campus as part of her degree research. She discovered that they were keen observers of the human occupiers of the grounds and that they would recognise a vistor/stranger among the milling mass of humanity instantly.

A) Buy a pet crow when it's young B) Feed it everyday and give it shiny things
Takkuri Himare There is no pet crows, theyre wildlife birds
No, in many countries and states, crows and other corvids are sold as pets. Like foxes, most still see them as wild, but they actually get along well with humans and make decent pets.
The Corvidea family of birds like crows, magpies, Jays etc. are some of the smartest and easiest to tame. Gray Jays (Canada Jays) hang out on some of the trails I hike in northern New England and will follow people for miles until they stop for a snack and will eat from peoples hand. For some reason they also tend to make the more annoying and frequent noise.
REMARKABLE! How did you manage to be able to do this with them. Animals are such a GIFT to our existence.

misb lamp nah, it is playing, which is an indicator of intelligence.
I was in a McDonald's car park one day and I saw birds trying to open a brown paper bag of food scraps. There were several species, sparrows, minors, seagulls. They couldn't do it. They just kept pecking at the bag with no real plan. A crow came down, put it's claw on the bottom of the bag and unopened it with it's beak. Within seconds it was enjoying a few fries. :) That was when I learned how smart Crows are. :)
I have seen ravens wait for a smaller bird, a grackle, to get into a small slit in a trash can. The raven was to big to get in, but the grackle got in and threw food out.
They actually are. Most birds are pretty smart, some more than others.

German Shepherds are naturally very fluffy. That’s why I especially love patting them if I see one and it’s friendly. I work in a store that allows pets to be brought in, and one customer has a German Shepherd named Cleo. She’s a lovely girl, and it’s as if she’s in a perpetual state of calm. She lays down on the trolley and, if I’m close enough to her when I scan any items near her, she’ll give my face a lick. She’s a sweet Shep.

Crow.
Mike Foley -Long slightly downward hooked beak (with the top beak being a little bigger than the bottom) as opposed to the crow's short straight beak (with both top and bottom beak being equally big) -Completely blue-black (also appropriately known as "raven black") whereas crows have a torso that is brownish grey front and back (at least in Europe). -Larger in body size with wider wings than crows. -Makes a long "rock" sound as opposed to the crow's short "caw" -Keeps head still when making said "rock" sound, as opposed to moving heavily up and down like crows do when they "caw" on the ground. -Long feathers on the chest (that often spread out when making sound, making them look a bit more like fur than feathers). Conclusion: absolutely a raven.

Birds are members of the coelurosauria family, an animal group Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex were also members of. Over time, coelurosaur theropod dinosaurs lost their snouts and teeth and developed beaks. But parts of the bodily build such as hollow bones, a wishbone and three toes on their feet, as well as a fourth hind toe on some birds remain from the prehistoric past. I grew up with the biggest GSD you’ve ever seen… he really was a gentle giant. He was my parents friends dog and he was awesome. They rescued a crow when she was a baby, they called her Maggie. And they used to do this all the time, the dog would pick Maggie up in his mouth, she would go crazy and peck his face, but they honestly loved each other… they played like this all the time. Being a child and seeing that, it didn’t massively faze me, but thinking about it now, I realise how special that was… Maggie eventually flew away, but she did come back every now and again. Animals really are so inspirational and a lot of fun. We can learn a lot from them.

crows are THE most intelligent of the bird, youtube is the best way to prove that. You could see them very skilled at using tools. Saw one snow boarding down the side of a tin roof using a bottle cap multiple times, saw one steal an unattended fish that was still in the water using his beak and one 'foot' to bring in the line, saw them manipulate (outsmart) many other animals to do for them one way or another.
