WATCH : F4 Phantom Low Level skills in the Greek Mach loop INIOCHES 24 Greek Mirages French Rafale

Get ready to be blown away by unforgettable experience we had at the Iniochos 24 Exercise! in Greece “INIOCHOS” is an annual medium scale exercise (type INVITEX) based on the facilities of the AIR TACTICS CENTER at the Andravida Air Base, located in the Northwest Peloponnese.
We caught a pair of F4 Phantom's! what a thrill but I did not succeed in getting any good photos but on the second day with good light and another pass of the Phantom's I succeeded not only that we had four Greek Mirage 2000 which I understand are very rare in Low level filmed on a Sony AX53 and the photos were taken on a Nikon Z8 70-200mm and 1.4 converter.

    • We also upgraded their avionics and optics relatively recently, in 2000s. However, they'll be retired soon. Especially now that we've got Rafale and wait for our F35s as well. We can't have 5 types of aircrafts. It's little Greece we're talking about. Our F16s will remain the main workhorse. Greece was the first country to upgrade them in their latest version, block 70/72 with AESA radars, internally, which effectively makes them Gen 4,5. Every F16 flying anywhere in the world, the 30% is made in Greece. Additionally, our F35s will include the first major upgrade in 2028 when they'll start arriving due to high demand. Our Rafale are in version F3R, it's the latest. Only the version F4 currently the French are testing. We might upgrade them or skip this one and wait for the version Rafale F5 or however they decide to name the next upgrade. Furthermore, we have the upgraded Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 and along with the 3+1 "Belharra" Frigates we bought from France and most probably 3+1 "GoWind" French Corvettes, their interoperability will be unmatched. Our French weapons are considered our wildcards since France doesn't sell to the Turks anything. The Greek Army is essentially half European, half American. I mentioned French Frigates and Corvettes, but our new Submarines are German. Our Apache and Kiowa Helicopters, our ATACMS, Patriot Batteries etc are American-made and many more.

  • I grew up in a German town with an airbase where Phantoms were stationed for a long time. Such a familiar sound & sight, almost a love, i guess! Thx so much Elwyn for these great clips, the overwhelming audio and the stunning pictures (crew and details on the planes alike). I keep on watching

  • Man the Mirage is one the most popular fighters of all time and used by many airforces around the world. The Mirage III was the 1st western European fighter to set the record for exceeding mach 2 in horizontal flight if I remember correctly. Delta wing goodness.

    • As part of those who can distinguish fuel, skydrol and deicing fluid by taste. Have had to defuel a bird an hour after refueling it. Worked 14 hour shift on a plane that isn't flying the next day and finally said: " oh yes, its suppose to look like that" Thanks for the recognition

    • The Greek RF-4Es were fitted with weapons and self-defense systems and were capable to operate from up to an altitude of 40,000 ft, depending on the mission. Their main role was reconnaissance before and after an air attack. They were based in Larissa, at 110 Combat Wing, and they used to operate from the 348 Squadron with call sign “Eyes”. Specifications: Crew: 2 Engine: 2 General Electric J-79-GE-15 turbojet engines with afterburners, thrust 17,900 lbs. Wing Span: 11.7 m Length: 19.1 m Maximum Speed: 2,370 km/h or 2.23 Mach Service Ceiling: 50,000 ft

  • For a 70 year-old design, can't believe these workhorses are not only still flying but also seem to be coal-fired! F-4s still rock though, and in the hands of their Greek masters, being amongst the best combat pilots on the planet, can still be effective! Μπράβο λεβέντες!

  • Το ονειρο μου από παιδί ήταν να πιλοταρω πολεμικό αεροπλάνο, τελικά έγινα πιλότος αλλά ελικοπτέρων, πολλές φορές στην Ανδραβίδα κάναμε ασκήσεις (ΣΟΤ) , μας κυνηγούσαν να μας λοκαρουν τα φάντομ, εκεί φέρνεις στα όρια το ελικόπτερο κυρίως Γνώρισα πολύ καλά παιδιά και αξιόλογους χειριστές φάντομ Εύχομαι σε όλους τους εν ενεργεία χειριστές: καλές πτήσεις - καλές προσγειώσεις ΝΑ ΠΡΟΣΈΧΕΤΕ ΜΆΓΚΕΣ Ο καλύτερος χειριστής είναι αυτός που γυρίζει σώος σπίτι του 👍🇬🇷

    • @@ElwynR να είστε καλά, πολύ ωραίο βίντεο, συγχαρητήρια Για την ενημέρωση, πολύ δύσκολος στόχος το ελικόπτερο για ένα μαχητικό αεροπλάνο (μου το είχαν πει χειριστές ακόμα κ f-16) Ένα δεξί ή αριστερό break 180 μοίρες για το ελικόπτερο γίνεται σε ελάχιστα δευτερόλεπτα, μέχρι να κάνει το ίδιο ένα αεροπλάνο θα χρειαστεί αρκετά μέτρα και χρόνο
