Penn & Teller: Fool Us Season 6 Episode 7 "Are You Better Magicians Than A 6th Grader"
#JoshFarley #DJPanduh #PennandTeller #FoolUs
--
Magician Josh Farley and his stuffed Panduh use their first national television appearance to inspire people to realize that it's okay to feel different or alone- that it's our very differences that make us strong.
--
"After the act, Penn & Teller both walked backstage, shook my hand, and as Teller was speaking to me, Penn overstepping Teller, even offstage, exclaimed, "YOU MADE TELLER GASP!!"... the biggest compliment a magician could hear. I was at a complete loss for words. Thank you to everyone involved. I still feel like I'm dreaming."

    • I understand you are trying to complement the ACT but the word deception to me is nasty no one is trying to deceive you they are just trying to create an illusion to trick your eye and your brain into seeing something you're not

      @garyp4374@garyp43742 жыл бұрын
    • @@garyp4374 @Gary P Ah Gary, I understand your concern about the word 'deception', but it's generally accepted by magicians to describe magic. I perform magic too, and many magic props (and some packs of cards in particular) carry the Latin phrase “Mundus vult decipi: the world wants to be deceived'. There's even a well-respected book about magic called 'The Art of Deception'. If you study magic, or spend time around working magicians, we use the word 'deceive' like we use the word 'trick', and everyone is comfortable with the expression 'magic trick' - even though 'to trick' actually means to deceive! But I do understand your concern, which is why I softened the expression by adding the word 'game' to reflect the intention as fun, and not 'nasty'. After all, even though the method involves a degree of 'trickery' or deception, it's the intention that counts - and that is only to create wonder and fun. I hope that explanation is helpful mate, and I'm glad that you're interested in magic!

    • @@goldeneddie I'm sorry you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about now the word trick and deception was always avoided that's what the professional magicians taught me and yes there is a book called The Art of deception but that's about the only reference I know of . who you're hanging around I don't know and what magicians are you're getting this from they're not professionals . I do real magic not mess around with decks of Cards I doubt very much whether you've been anywhere near working Professionals just by what you're saying it's great to have an interest in magic but really don't try and tell seasoned Professionals like myself about terminology and how it works . have you been on national TV 10 times have you performed in front of a live audience of a 1000 people have you ever vanished off stage and turned up at the back of 1000 people ? where you the vice president of the third oldest magic club . I'm not being rude but you know F.all about Magic by what you're saying keep practising your card tricks but please don't go on with this crap about I know everything when you've obviously never spent any time with professional magicians I can tell by the way speaking . when you've got 30 years experience and done everything I've done working and performing at the hardest market on earth you could start telling me how it is until then keep working on your Svengali deck

Houdini came to Australia to perform escapes but had to cancel the tour because the Australians were not interested and yet I have been performing escapology for 30 years in Australia one of the hardest market's on Earth and have made shitloads of money out of doing so. I even had an opportunity to audition for this show meeting the producers of fool us . • being a victim of a lot of bullying when i was a kid, i feel like... represented here! your message really is inspiring and it's one the world needs to hear more. thank you for being honest about this. and i have no idea at all how you did the trick.

    @SpyroTheEternalNight@SpyroTheEternalNight Жыл бұрын
    • No-one should be the victim of bullying in the 21st century. There are very effective prevention and intervention programs available that minimise or even completely eradicate bullying from schools or any other setting. No-one is born a bully. Unfortunately that scientific knowledge still hasn't found its way into all corners of society. The problem is, once a bully has developed and gets away with it, it becomes a slippery slope towards amplified disrespect for others and the law, i.e. criminality. The sooner this route is cut off, the better, both for the individual, for the victims, and for society as a whole. It is great to see how someone frees themselves from the isolation that comes with bullying. This is a very nice trick and I would not be suitable as an assistant here because my skeleton is as stiff as the Eiffel Tower.

  • I was 1000% fooled while watching the performance for the first time. Very well done. When her hand popped up from the top with the front panel removed, I said "Dang! That's cool! How are they doing it?". But of course, this is KZhead. We can watch and re-watch as many times as we want. So with observation and deductions I eliminated the impossible and whatever was remaining must be the truth. By the way, a little mistake (or overlooked detail) helped me solve one part of the puzzle. An article of clothing to be more precise. To figure out the main part of the trick (where's the assistant), geometry led to the answer.

What on Earth were they thinking of to cut away and completely miss the appearance (or switch) of Brooke to the DJ decks on stage right?

    • It's not fake or staged... shot in a single take with a live audience. That said, I completely agree with you. I was very disappointed by the edit :/ We spent hundreds of hours, hired magic consultants, etc. to make the switch very clean. Penn told me that, "it made Teller gasp and that's not an easy feat."
