    • @@timberhoff you are missing the point. No team in history has ever went a full season completely unbeaten in all competitions before. Regardless of being in the CL or not it will still be the best ever club season in history. Until another team eventually goes unbeaten in the league, domestic cups, and CL. But until then it's Leverkusen who are the best in history.

  • With all due respect to people claiming this is not impressive, you can only win the competitions you are a part of. No team has done this yet and probably won’t be achieved again. We’ve had plenty of treble winners now. Wouldn’t call any season greatest ever but it’s great to see something like this unfolding.

    • @@Youafool500 I agree that he’ll move around, but I think you’re very bold to say that if Madrid comes knocking he’ll definitely take it. Bayern are in a state of extreme turmoil right now and there is a real possibility for Xavi to establish a new dynasty in the Bundesliga if he stays and keeps his team together. I have no doubt that he will eventually manage Madrid, but I think that it won’t be immediately. I think he will spend at least another 4 or 5 seasons at Leverkusen, working on the project and establishing Leverkusen as the Bundesliga’s ruling dynasty given Bayern’s inability to effectively challenge for a title given their inner turmoil

  • In my opinion, if they win the treble undefeated, even though it's only the Europa League and not the CL, it probably outranks teams who've won the treble including the CL. To do it undefeated adds an extra dimension. I'm really hoping they can do it, as it's stories like this that make football so great. One league game left at home to mid-table Augsburg, a German cup final against 2nd tier Kaiserslautern, surely those are in the bag and it all boils down to the Europa League final against Atalanta. The crazy thing is, Leverkusen could be 2 down after 85 minutes, and I'd still fancy them to win it.

  • I would like to take this opportunity to talk about Eric Dier, as I feel he is being overlooked :) Eric Dier is undoubtedly one of the standout defenders of his time ( meaning the second half of the season ). His exceptional ability to excel both tactically and technically makes him a true giant on the field. His reading of the game is unmatched; he often seems to anticipate the opponent's movements in advance, allowing him to make crucial interventions and disrupt attacks before they even begin. His ball control and passing accuracy are equally remarkable, and he possesses the rare ability to stand defensively solid while also actively participating in the build-up play. Eric Dier is not just a defender; he is also an architect of the game, shining on the field through both his leadership qualities and impressive technical mastery.

There are teams spending double that amount for just a squad player, let alone a potential starter. If the gamble doesn't work out, it's fine because he probably won't be on crazy wages. A lot of big teams are looking for strikers so if you are West Ham or a team of that nature for example, you rush to get him.

    • thats the conference league bbro... Both champions league finalist should not play the competition because neither was a champion last year! Its the League Cup of the old European Cup of national champions.

  • Still Real Madrids run is more impressive. Champions league is the pinnacle! And knowing that Real has just 1 loss…. Against Atletico… and probably setting up for their 15th… its far bigger achievement… despite Leverkussen never lost…

  • No. With all respect, it would be incredible, but winning a treble with a Champions League trophy and losing 1,2,3 games during the season is much more impressive. Real Madrid are on the way to do it. But for a smaller club like BL, a treble without losing a game would be phenomenal.

    • Nope, going unbeaten is 10x more impressive. Multiple teams have won b2b ucls, but no club has ever won a european trophy without losing a single game all season.

    • No. It would not be more phenomenal, since you would most likely lose in the league if you have 1,2 or 3 losses. Also, 1,2 or 3 losses has been achieved multiple times.

    • Champions League is a whole different animal. You can’t compare it to the Europa League. Leverkusen would’ve been knocked out already if they played in the CL.

    • @@mole1596 That is a ridiculous statement considering they haven't lost. They beat Bayern 3-0 and 2-2 and Dortmund 1-1 and 1-1, both of which were in the Semis. One beat PSG 2-0. The other one barely lost to a Real Madrid side mainly because of poor ref decision.
