  • i want these types of tablets where you can draw on it while not looking up at the dumb computer. they're so expensive though xD

    • ***** You COULD buy a Surface Pro 3,I also hear the Galaxy Tab 4 are decent for drawing. The Surface is as expensive as you make it since you can choose what processor and how much memory it gets, but you'd spend about $700 for the base surface (don't forget it's trying to replace your laptop too), The Galaxy Tab 4 is $300. BUT NEITHER of these devices would out perform the Cintiq, but you'd at least have the screen you wanted to draw on. I don't know if you tried it, but drawing and looking a the screen becomes natural, but I too will upgrade to a Cintuq, but it isn't hard adjusting to look at the screen.

    • I know what you mean. Those poverty graphic tablets are awkward to draw on. I decided to ditch mine and got a Cintiq 13HD instead.

    • ***** a cheaper way would be biking, i'll help with posture and its a good exercise, i also have some neck and back problems ( i draw on my legs, traditionally) so yeah, i also have a intuos but at this time im just practcing enough to use my tablet and use it to make some money for a cintiq.

  • A good thing to remember if you are choosing between a 13" and 22" or 24" model is that the pixel density ppi is much higher on the 13" since all of there are 1920x1080 pixels. So the 13" Cintiq has 166 ppi and for example the 24" has only 91 ppi. (For comparison: a MacBook Pro Retina has 226ppi). Something to think about if you prioritize a more crisp and high ppi image over bigger screen room.

    • You're probably right. That maybe the reason why the color on my cintiq is much more vivid than it was on my computer :/

  • I was walking the line between CintiQ 13HD and 22HD - 13HD had the edge because it is very compact to carry around with the laptop and my only concern was will it be big enough to allow me a natural drawing feeling. And now as I've seen you playing around, I have decided to buy it! Thank you very much mate, I appreciate it! :) Keep up the good work!

I've just bought an Wacom Intuos Pro, i always drawed on paper and it's been a big change for me, i've seen that you use a glove to draw on the tablet and many other guys seem to use it to, do you recommend me using one? will it make easier the transition to digital? Thanks and Cheers from Argentina!

  • Ok guys listen up!!!~ I just got the Intuos Pen and Touch tablet and let me tell you .... i was stupid. Ive been drawing for the longest and if you are a traditional artist trying to go digital to keep up with the times, i fell like you should try this. Even though i haven't tried this, this seems easier because it seems that in this one you can actually see where ur pen is going. Because I was so used to looking down at my paper i guess its harder for me to control it. But i feel like this one is best since it resembles the way of drawing on paper for people who have been drawing as long as I ( more than 17 yrs). I feel like in this one you have more control with the tablet. good luck with picking.

  • I am extremely tempted to get this, I am not the greatest at digital art yet but will be working hard to improve my skills. I really want to get the 13 hd however the main thing that worries me is the screen size, length ways there is plenty of room but I usually use the a4 portrait page in photoshop and seen as the cintiq is landscape it means zoomed out the paper will only be about a third of the screen, seems far too small for drawing characters, however the next sizes up seem far too big! can you help me at all with your opinion on this? Thanks

    • I keep on thinking the same thing, I know you can put shortcuts under the buttons but sometimes for colouring you might need a close pallet which to me makes it look small as well. Specially with the windows open.

    • +PetalStorm 566 Check this out www.samsung.com/global/microsite/2014galaxynote10.1/ I have the 2012 version and works GREAT for entry digital art. I recommend picking up Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for it as well (i think it's around $10?). Since then I've upgraded to a cintiq... I am terrible at drawing on a wacom tablet, too much of a disconnect for me to look up at a screen while drawing on a table.

      @jdonnelly1977@jdonnelly19778 жыл бұрын
    • +PetalStorm 566 Well, if u have the money goo with 13 hd. The only problem with 13hd is that its abit small. Just ask yourself what u really want, want your heart want and a wallet :D. And buy for yourself. But, i would recommend that u first alteast with the the lowest tablet of wacom or any esle. Just to get a feel, how this works in digitaly. At first i bought bambo and when i hate it soo much, i got myself a cintiq. The feeling is totaly different, u feel free now :).

Those tablets are more user-friendly and is more gentle on the budget (the Intuos tablets usually run $300 USD or more). However, if you really want to try out the Intuos tablets, just go for it :). • Great Video. Thank you for sharing. I have 2 questions. Does the cintiq 21 works ok with iMac? or do you need the adaptor for that one too? My other question is Does the tablet works also with Illustrator? or is only for Photoshop??? Thank you for your help

  • What kind of brush were you using for the sketching? Was it a default Charcoal brush in photoshop or one you made yourself, I've been looking for a way to make it a natural pencil like feel for sketching on photoshop.

  • That was a good review, well made with lots of useful info and very nice to see you do an illustration during the coarse of the review, looked great! I hope one day I can afford (and justify) the cost of one of these things, they look great. But for now I just do this for fun and have an intuos 3 (that I need to still plug in & learn to use!) that will hopefully help me do some great colour work : ) Do you do video tutorials at all?? Because I would love to see one, thanks : )

  • Very nice video! I recently bought a cintiq 13HD myself. I work mainly in Corel Painter, and I'm really curious as to how you managed to get the panels/toolbox/brush-selector to align vertically with the tablet like that? I'd love to be able to do that...

  • Thank you for this! I was on the fence on whether it was worth it to upgrade from my Intuos Pro to the Cintiq 13HD and watching you draw on the cintiq was convincing enough :) Awesome artwork too but you probably already know that :)

  • I have the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro pen display, seems pretty good and considerable savings over Wacom Cintiq. Works well w Krita and Sketchbook. Fairly large screen, and it comes w a pen, glove, and a stand for the pen (w replacement tips).

  • Would you say that moving to a cintiq (or similar technology) is the standard natural progression? I currently have intuos 5, am happy with it but have always wanted a cintiq (but always too pricey). Is drawing on the cintiq any different (besides obviously seeing your hand) or was it something that takes a lot of getting used to? Plus, im seeing many cintiq 12 reducing and being sold on ebay, how would you compare this to the 12?

  • Brilliant video, very informative. Work as a freelance concept artist myself and im really excited to move onto the CintiQ as my old school Intuos 3 is getting a little run down! If you don't mind me asking, what brush is it youre sketching with throughout? It looks a bit like "Stubby Pencil"/ Thanks in advance. Again, wonderful vid

  • Been happy with the surface pro that I bought for drawing. There are a few tablet computers out now that run between 1/2 and 1/3 the price of the most basic cintiq, and have the advantage of being mobile and stand alone

  • @reiqws I never really started any artwork ever, and I need some input. I'm interested in starting, especially with a tablet, in the digital artwork direction. I do agree that it is ignorant to not really tackle the manual pencil to paper approach, but what do you think? Do you think the digital artwork direction, using the different art programs will help advance my skills at a higher rate? Do you think that it create more opportunity for creative work for a person who doesn't know "art" much?
