Heya! Can u do a walk between Vauxhall station and new Battersea Power Station via Nine Elms to see the new development?! Might be quite interesting
the video brought tears to my eyes.. I lived opposite tesco express which can be seen earlier in this video. Now I live a few hundred miles away from london. This video reminded me of the days of struggle and hustle where we would be left with £150 every month to buy groceries and eat out if we had any money left. One has to live in london atleast once in their lifetime.
10:42 The building on the right is where I used to live from 1990 until 1992. Selbys is where I used to work, and the Old Kings Head pub is where I used to drink. Great memories. I now live in Seattle, USA.
Ahh Holloway brings back many memories from my youth. Nags Head reminds me of shopping with my Mum in the early 70s (James Selby and Jones Brothers where I bought my first Mary Quant lipstick). I went to college just off Holloway Road, saw David Essex (swoon!) in That'll Be the Day in 1973 at the Odeon, and bought my first packet of cigarettes in Holloway Road. Good memories (not the cigarettes of course).
Where do you live now?
🤗💕🤗
you a fake girl?
@@sarahbrennan1342 Boy or girl?
At 11.53 Tavistock Terrace is where Francis de la'tour use to live. She played Miss Jones in Rising Damp. I use to deliver her post, lovely lady. UK🇬🇧
Wow. Archway station has changed quite a bit (or my memory has completely faded). I worked at the Whittington Hospital as an Apprentice Electrician. Have hardly been back to that area since 1993. After a few years of nightmare rush hour travel on the Northern Line then Central Line to Leytonstone on the way home and back to work the next day, I accidently discovered the overground train that went from Holloway Road all the way up to Leytonstone High Road. So I used to walk down that same route down the Holloway Road to take the train Home every day. It's been so long it's actually hard to recognize anything, and fascinating to see other comments of people who were even around that area 20 years before I was there.
Born and raised!!! Was a different atmosphere during the 70's. Seen all the changes, and im still part of the manor!!! UK 🇬🇧
What was the atmosphere like in the 70's? I was a Whittington baby.
I love the way the Coronet has retained the look of a 1940's cinema. I wish there were more like this. The odeon is a fine building as well.
Too right! Sadly, I understand that it's in danger of being closed / torn down (likely not for the first time?).
That's sad to hear. I live in rural Ireland nowadays but this was my old stomping ground. Saw a lot of films at the Coronet, and the Odeon.@@MuswellMunky
Lovely to see this... ❤️I remember the Archway Tavern ... painted green at the time lol 😆 great nights there... the Queen Victoria.. the Odeon looks well.. James Selby still there all done up 💛looks trendy now... love Islington... ❤️
Love from Chicago❤️🇺🇸 I love watching your videos.
Thank you so much Tyiesha, greetings to Chicago!
@@watchedwalker You’re welcome😊
I used to work just off Holloway road in the 90's. The area used to be known for its characters; a guy in a straight jacket used to follow me and make the Hannibal Lector sound, another guy would walk behind me carrying a giant teddy bear and touch me with it. I was never scared though, it was just normal! Great area and memories . There used to be a lovely bagel shop where we would go everyday for lunch.
What a lovely way to stroll around this amazing city. When we are in London, my wife and I go on bus rides all over the city. We love just looking around. Now that we are not too mobile in our later years this is just perfect for us. Thanks so much for this lovely video.
Nice walk WW. Can feel the cold from the walk 🧥
Thanks GST, yes, it's starting to get a bit nippy out!
Beautiful city
Hi
This area was a stomping ground for me in the seventies. Thank you for bringing back some great memories.
Just would like to say, how much I appreciate you showing the side streets that you pass. . So often those who do these types of videos will cross a side street but keep the camera looking in the direction they are walking in. I like seeing what’s down on the streets being passed by. Very nice.
Your stuff is good and a real plus is the way you "look around" showing us what's to the right left and up ETC. very good
Thanks RR, glad you like it!
Thanks for uploading. I went to uni in Holloway Road , lived in the area from 1995 until 2001 and drank in all the pubs there almost daily. The pubs were all friendly and met people from all the world in the Holloway Road.
I'm from Islington and used to go to school in the area way back (I'm 28 now), it's been a real one when it comes to archway, it has changed so much since then. Now I live in central London (how things change drastically is quite shocking), that's London for you (the city never settles).
Nice afternoon walk. Beautiful city 👍
Thanks for this virtual shopping trip! Reminds me of the first neighborhood I lived in when I grew up, ha! It was busy and noisy and exciting in its way- you captured it well! Love seeing the sun going down🌞
Thank you LL, glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the walk, short and sweet.
Very interesting and fun - especially starting around 15:00 where you angle your camera just a bit so we can glimpse what is inside these shops and cafes. Thank you.
Thanks Debbie, and that's good to know 🙂
I was born & bred around here just near Whittington Park, brings back many memories thanks so much for sharing.Greetings from Australia 🇭🇲🦘👍
I was born in Whittington hospital back in the 90s (1994), it has also been far too long for me as well, when I do visit the area, it always changes lol. I went to school there too, back in my teens.
I really enjoy watching your valuable videos. I can see how London moves beautifully. I hope that you will make a great history by means of your videos. All your videos are hilariously courageous. Thank you
Great to see this area having been there in a long time... stay safe 💕
Beatiful Islington
This day looks so different from the bright, sunny and hot London that I used to see in your videos. I love your tours, almost feels I am walking the streets myself.
Lovely Walking Tour! Enjoyed it ❤️
I'm going to miss going for a stroll like this for 4 more weeks. Arrgghh!
Thanku so much for this clip... I remember depth of my golden age...summer 2010.. When I was everyday walk same... Today Iam eight thousands k. M so far...seen with tear eyes .. Miss a lot Holloway..u catch my soul..

This video is so relaxing 😊😊.
Very nice video, I noticed that in this particular video you also show the interior of the shops from the sidewalk, it's very interesting, very nice !!!!
I love your videos. I find them so relaxing to watch. The resolution quality is fantastic. I feel like I'm right next to you walking the streets of London. I'm from Los Angeles.

Super interesting tour..!!
Thanks Ross!
A very interesting walk WW , my parents lived here for a short time before moving to Stoke Newington. Perhaps that could be your next walk. Great work my man.
Thanks PF, I'll add SN to my list!
@@watchedwalker Great !!
Thanks for sharing this video 🙏I was living on Holloway road in 2011💘
Cause autumn🍁🍂🍃 is awesome 😊
I didn't know this part of London. Very beautiful
This part of London is nothing special. I lived there until 1999 and I certainly don't miss it. Most people , me included, find it to have become rather run down.
It is North London... Islington... 🤗
@@sarahbrennan1342 Not the nicest of places to settle down in!
nicky29031977 I lived in Islington but not there... I still have great memories though of the Holloway Road.. Jones Brothers and I worked in James Selby at one stage... while.I was at college... was lovely to see .. 🥰

Autumn, the season of cold light and rustic hue, and friends bundled up against the chill, walking leaf strewn streets with the promise of dark gusty evenings and the welcome lights of home. By Euan Elliott, 7th of November 2020, 15:34 pm.
Aaaah the memories! Pity you didnt carry on for another 10 minutes because that was the strip I used to be around the most when studying at UNL in the late 90s. Gr8 stuff anyways cheers!
Thanks SC51, I did catch that strip at the end of this earlier video - kzhead.info/sun/g9KefLemhYqem3A/bejne.html
Liked it, thanks. Holloway the street of supermarkets, is there a supermarket, which not have a store on that street? There where some really cozy pubs on that street.

♦ 5:55 Me habría gustado que nos hubiésemos parado aquí aunque sólo hubiese sido un minuto. 20:33 Y aquí otro minuto más. Muy poco, la verdad: 2 minutos en total. ■
Luis, I don't tend to stay near music, as often KZhead will content ID it. It's not always obvious what is live music and what is using a recording - I've been caught out many a time!
@@watchedwalker ♦ Gracias. Debería haber pensado en eso que dices sobre KZhead. ■
I lived in Tollington Park close to Holloway Road for 8 years. Not been there for a while. Feel free to do Blackfriars to Tower Hill.
Ok this may come off a bit much, but I love you for doing this. Sounds bizarre because I don’t know you from a can of paint, but you’re assisting me with my meditation and manifestation practice. I’d like to visit and perhaps stay for a few months. By viewing these walking videos it’s getting me so used to the areas. Thank you!
TPF, you're very welcome, and no, it's not a bit much, I'm happy my walks have this impact 🙂
What a beautiful city! Greetings from Kyiv, Ukraine! Thanks for the wonderful walk!
Thanks MT, greetings to Kyev!

Can you mention which sound recorder, company and model do you use? Thank you.

9:30 You could have at least given a mention to Chris Stevens. The best and most resonably priced decorator's merchants (on top of many other things) in North London! Sorry! I'm only being pendantic about another otherwise great video That was really enjoyable, keep up the good work!
I've never been to London before. What are the rules for sitting on the second floor of one of those funny busses?
What do you mean? Pay, sit where you like, top or bottom deck.
Matthew. You will find travelling on our buses quite an experience.
Hey Man, is this new lockdown going to effect new videos you release?
Wayne, it may to some degree, will have to see how it goes.
Sincerely hope you're able to keep getting out there WW but we all want you to be safe too of course

Why are some of those white lines on the street, at a funny angle in places ???
We call them 'zig zags'. They are placed either side of the crossing no parking allowed.
@@ds1868 thank you..
@@clarkmadrosen1780 there are red lines, single yellow lines, double yellow lines, symbol of cycles, thick white lines , honestly, it's a fantastic piece of artwork on the roads. You will be amazed when you see them.
I have been to London several times. My favorite city in the world. 🇬🇧.Thanks for the info.
@@clarkmadrosen1780 I agree, Palm Springs, Honolulu, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, Florence, St Tropez etc have nothing compared to London.
In from the area and hate it. I don't experience any of the interest other commenters seemingly do and it baffles me why anybody would want to make a video of this. London has some really nice areas but this just isn't one of them.
I lived just off lower Holloway until 1999 and remember the Coronet pub being opened in 1996. The bit of road in front of Archway tower leading up towards Waterloo Park has been pedestrianized so cars and buses have to go right and then turn back onto the left to go towards Highgate and Finchley.
Yes, Navigator Square (as it's known) is a marked improvement on the old gyratory, on balance.
