The LONG Road to CARPVILLE - Spring Carp Fishing Adventures!

Spring carp fishing this year hasn't really been spring carp fishing. Unusually cold weather, and my insistence on targeting big fish resulted in me finally landing my first carp of the year on May 4th. Thanks for watching.

  • Way to persevere through to the large first fish you wanted! Nice to know we're not the only ones who blank!

    • I still don't know why I insisted on my first fish of the year being a big fish. It was a fun challenge, though. Thanks Joe.

  • Great vid! Just to touch on that (DON'T FEED THE FISH!) crap. I used to trap muskrats in Ohio creeks in the 70s and if corn kills that whole area would of been dead long ago! Muskrats would raid corn fields every year and when I walked in the creek setting traps I would come across mud bottom areas and the muskrats will take while ears of corn (by the bushel) and shove the ends into the mud for when the creek froze over so that they would have a ready source of food. One time I took several bushel baskets down there and quickly filled them all and my dad drove down later with me and picked them up to feed his hogs and there was a hell of a lot more where that came from. I didn't want to take all of it because I made plenty of their hides and we also ate them. They are actually delicious! Better than squirrel and I really like them as well.

    • Agreed, feed corn doesn't harm the fish. Thanks for watching!

  • Great video, again. It's been cold here also in nw indiana. Haven't caught any big girls yet. But Saturday got my 4th ever mirror. Almost all of the carp caught so far this season have taken Tuitti Fruitty flavored Kix. Keep up the great work. 👏

  • Well the seasons are not a problem in Southern California. Finding an unpressured spot is a challenge. Of course the state also imposes a handicap by preventing chumming; and in some cases organizing carp kills to thin the population. Told you before how much I enjoy your videos, Tom, and for a novice carper they are very instructive. My wife is getting tired of the skunk smell on my clothes, and the bait making efforts in her kitchen. But always hopeful. Now that summer has arrived in your neck of the woods, I am sure the fishing will be great.

  • Tom, close counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and fishing, especially fishing. Oh, by the way NICE carp. Too darn bad you had to wait for summer to arrive to catch it. I guess that's what happens with three season fishing, right?

  • Idk about KILLING carp, but I know for a fact that un boiled or hard maize and corn can have a hard time going through a Carps digestive system. Ask any UK carp fisherman and they might tell you more. I don’t know much about it. I definitely don’t think your killing carp though, especially with that small amount. Nice carp you caught, I’m enjoying these videos!🎣👍

  • Dont rate those spods they either open up mid flight spraying bait everywhere or don't open at all most of the time they work though. Always preferred the open top bait droppers just plug the top with pva nuggets and wait for it to melt when it's been cast out

    @lionsroar9782@lionsroar97822 жыл бұрын
    • I agree, the open top versions perform more reliably.
