FX Impact M3 .22 Cal & 1st Hunt HIK Micro Alpex 4K LRF || Rabbit Cull || Bonus PCP Rifle Shot Foxes
I'm out again with my FX Impact M3 .22 caliber into the field for some BULK pest control shooting. This is a professional pest control cull for a local private landowner with a small game pest problem. Rabbit hunting at night is an Aussie pastime, add in a modern twist of PCP hunting with thermal and night vision equipment. You can envisage good results if the rabbit numbers are prevalent. There is plenty of air rifle hunting and shooting action in this KZhead video for you all to watch. Also a really good look at the capabilities of the newly released HIK Micro Alpex 4K LRF digital day/night scope.
FX Impact M3 is shooting on song in .22 calibre running 25.5gr Zan slugs. Scope is the new HIK Micro Alpex 4K LRF with ballistic hold over capability. For those interested, my FX Impact M3 is running a Huma-Air high flow slug & pellet probe but no other power upgrades. It has a standard 700mm barrel with superior liner (not heavy). I'm firing the 25.5gr slugs at about 925 fps for sub MOA accuracy (Which is 50 ft/lbs for the UK guys that feel the requirement to know this). Few Sabre Tactical upgrades in the mix to the rifle body like the Arca Rail 2 and TRS rail. Air supply is by a ShootAir light weight composite tank to refill the rifle bottle as required.
For scanner duties, I'm running the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 thermal binoculars in a chest rig. I'm yet to use a device it's equal in image and functionality in all aspects. This IMO is the best thermal scanner you can by as of posting this video in March 2024.
A large portion of these rabbits were utilised for the pot or pet food. But with a large cull like this many just go into landfill as we are paid to shoot and tally numbers. There's no time on the clock so to speak for processing animals in this type of volume.
I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the equipment being used, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits and licences when working under paid contract in NSW. This isn't hunting, it's professional pest control. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details in your state. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.
Please don't ask how much I earn or how to become a contract shooter. I'm not a business adviser, the requirements and information vary state by state. If seeking this information research your own states legislation. I get this question a LOT, and it's not a path I wish to go down on social media.

the whole thing looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. it must be worth a fortune; gun, scope and all.
Wish I had that when I was a kid
Where there are rabbits, there is fox's. Top work.
Another great video Nathan . Look forward to the next one.
Thanks 👍
That trigger break is *crisp*
A great video Nathen! I'm amazed how far Air Rifle technology has moved on since I was a lad in the 80's!
Great work as always Nathan nothing better than Exploding Miner Birds 👍👍👍

Such a tack driver, and so quiet! Thanks for including the ft/lbs equivalency 😉
It's getting a bit close to Easter ... Look out for the Easter bunny!!! 🐰 😬
That rifle is a real weapon Nathan all I had back in the day were 22s mind you with low velocity ammo and a muffler they were pretty quiet.
*EDGE of the OUTBACK* Bravo well done, always a pleasure to see another video, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless. (( PS, the intro, thought that was Bucket, lolooo ))
Air rifle technology has certainly improved since the 1960s. LOL And why not? Another great post mate. Wish I could afford one of those outfits. Take care, stay safe, and good hunting.
Another great video! Love seeing the airgun content!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Excellent video . These modern air rifles are amazing thank keep up the good work
Algorithmic engagement comment. I'm impressed with the unit. As always, another great video with great shooting as well. BTW, everyone hits a branch now and then.
love the FX Impact wish I could afford one. great vid Hollywood
Thankyou Nathan, outstanding shooting once again , awesome little set up, surprising what can be taken out with a slug gun and a great eye .
The Alpex 4K certainly has the detail that the DS35 doesn't quite get to, and the light gathering qualities are outstanding! Another great video as always.
Cheers
For what you do, that scope is the perfect tool. It helps to have a great rifle too.
Dead Eye Dick strikes again. It does not seem to matter what weapon you use, you knock the target equally well. Great work as usual Nathan.
Appreciate it mate 👌
Good gear Nathan, it doesn't muck about. We won't start on how good the operator is 🤠. Cheers Dan.
Thanks mate
Great video and great shooting once again Nathan 👍. The Alpex 4K certainly has great clarity. It’s amazing how good the FX Impact is on some of the Fox shots (and the Rat hahaha 🐀)
Clinical shooting, lovely to watch!
Them foxes were very impressive great video
I look forward to each and every video. That scope is very nice indeed, great clear view. Your shots are awesome as always. Keep up the great job. Cheers

Easter Sunday entertainment at its best, bunny’s didn’t stand a chance
Nice editing Mate, segments put together good. Sure shows feral tidying by a craft person.

Nice shooting once again. Great little outfit that rifle and scope 👍👍
As entertaining and informative as usual thanks fella

Fascinating to actually see the bullet drop in the 133 yard shot. Well done (whole video)👍👍
Cheers
Cracking shots there mate!!🍺🍺💪👍💥💥
Thanks 👍
Fantastic shooting Nathan. Got the alpex too great bit of kit.
for the bunnies, lights out for the foxes and no more flight time for the skyrats
I'm no expert but that scope looks pretty bloody good.🐇

Thumbs up as always for your top notch content! 👍🏼👍🏼
Much appreciated!
Very cool content as usual Nathan.
Brilliant video!! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Love it Nathan. That certainly settles it for me, I've been tossing up between nv scopes and that is clearly the winner, unbelievable clarity in low light. Great video as always mate and very useful, cheers.
The rifle seemed good to me Nathan, but I'm no expert. Great to watch as usual. Scope seems tops as well. Slo-mo bunny flips are always a treat. Cheers mate
Thanks Don
Amazing gun. ...your skills come into it as well.
Extremely impressive😎👍
Nathan, top video as always. Good to see you get into those Indian Myna birds as well, can't believe how many rabbits there are where you are shooting, I live out in the Central West and I don't seem to see too many Rabbits at all. anyhow keep up the good work.
Once again, awesome work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hope you enjoyed your visit to Texas 🎉
Bloody great mate.
Great vid I’ve been wanting something like this for my 22 and after watching I think it’s the one
That’s Fanbloodytastic 😎
Nice one as always Nathan, hope you had some KFC to keep you company !! Very nice scope indeed, propably looked different to you, but the noise as the light dropped off did not seem that bad, always different when it is your eye though.
Yeah it's always hard to get a full representation, but it did pretty well across the recordings.
Wow that gun is awesome
Awesome Ep and shooting
Thanks to you, we have gone away from night vision to pulsar thermals. Yes, we buy our scopes and now our reloading gear from Ben.
Good stuff
Ahh, he’s back!
Awsum ma man what a beautiful day& night of shooting love ur channel 🤙
Cheers
Maté awesome content as always Just a heads up please don’t touch frogs with your bare hands They breathe through their skin So if you have any residual lead on your hands or anything else they will absorb it just the smallest of some things can kill them Bloody ripper vid again mate cheers
Razor sharp image of the pellet hitting home... I have a 1958 bsa .177 air rifle ...Most certainly prefer your rig Nathan... Be a doozie to light that wood pile on fire 😊
Brilliant shoot, the kit is on my list when my pension kicks n. Shame you found the question frustrating on bar pressure, but as you probably know here in England we are limited to sub 12 ftp, (unless you apply for a fac) which is a pain. Distance shooting becomes very limited amongst other issues.
They are all licensed firearms in Australia. The ft lbs makes no difference at all. But I've experienced some robust hate that I haven't stated that figure in the past 😃
#EdgeogtheOutback great episode. (I'm a Pom in Pom Land ). Really interesting to see the night vision bullet trajectories, specially seeing them pass through the zero point on that 133m rabbit. I'm looking at the Alpex but also the Hik Cheetah for my .25 Wildcat . You footage is spot on.
Great video, the air rifles have sure come a long way, this from a bloke who use a Diana as a young bloke.
I just got my first day night scope , and I much prefer it over a thermal , it a 3d picture where the thermal looks 2d , so now I use the thermal for spotting and after I close the gap I use the day night one The video quality of that hicmirco is very good , I like it
That's a solid combo, main thing is it works for you.
Great start to a Friday afternon.no cats for the do gooders to complain about. Such a shame
Frightening what An FAC air rifle will do! great Video Nathan..think there was a Family of cub's close too! CJ UK
There are no cubs this time of year in Australia. Glad you enjoyed the video
Brilliant love it. Awesome content 👍💯
Glad you enjoyed it
Quality ❤
Great shooting as usual Nathan! I like the look of that Alpex 4K, I have just put a pre order down on the new Arken Zulus but this Hik Micro has turned my head slightly! Keep up the good work mate.
Will do
brilliant vid - thank you !
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vid mate thanks
No problem 👍
Great vid mate, the Alpex 4K is a great scope i`ve had one a couple of weeks and love it the ballistic calculator in the unit is spot on for me, i ran it next to my atn 4-20 4k and while the atn is a better image past 14x the Alpex kills it below this and the light sensing is about 4 times more efficient on the Aplex. The only gripe I have is the unit doesn't have a second symbol for the external battery so until I contacted the maker I didn`t know the unit auto switches to the external battery once the internal is flat.
I didn't know that either, really good to know.
Don't like that flash in centre of cross-hairs.... go the Pard ! 25gr did the job on the foxes .! Love ya posts..... keep em coming. Mike
Always watching You From Malaysia Sir…. God bless You Sir…🎉❤
Same to you!
Great video as always and I hope you're as impressed with the alpex 4k as I am! Beem using one now for about 6 weeks on my 17 hornet and I can confirm its dammed good!
Hi there Nathan, I love what you do hell fire you're doing a gr8 job, years ago I was pest controlling rabbits here in Scotland, in one day a m8 and me ran out of ammo we popped just short of 500 bunnies at a big estate in Perthshire just on the banks of the river Tay the was a great outing and i remember it well, but mixi has hit hard in UK these days so not so much bunnies now, I really wish I could come out and help you with the pest control, but that's never gona happen, I'm retired now but your vids make up for the me not getting on the ground nowadays days.
Glad you can re-live the memories 👌
Hi there Nathan m8, I had a go at wild boar but in Scotland they're thin on the ground, got here when some idiots though it would be good to farm them, guess what, they escaped how they thought they wouldn't is beyond me, however theres no feral pigs as such, but I like your vids a lot m8.
I understand that semiautos may be hard to get a licence for out where you are, have ye thought of a straight pull there a few on the market now, ok some are very fekn expensive I know but there's one or two I had a wee look at like the Savage impulse, now I'm not saying they're any good a or anything, nor am I plugging them, I checked out some straight pulls at a game fair show a couple of years ago, I really liked them, I found myself thinking they would have bloody good for the heads of bunnies I was hitting back in the day, if ye get a chance check them out, the one I liked had a spring return I only had to pull it back and it sprung forward and locked ready to go, man it impressed me a fekn lot, Hellish expensive tho.
Damn deadly with that Daisy Red Rider It’s be nice if we had a chance at Hik on this side of the big water
I'm not sure where the other of the pond is?
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Pacific I haven’t been able to find anyone in the States that carries them. It always shows up in your neck of the woods.
Great vid mate 👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome
Thanks for the video, I had a good look through one at out shooting show. That unit looks like it might work under moonlight which would help out with some ir spooky rabbits we have here.
I use 760 fps .22 slugs, and using the balistics on the scope is so cool to use, love it.
A new Subscriber tonight. Nice work
Cheers
Awesome display of marksmanship mate I think the new scope looks great from our end so it can’t be to bad at your end cheers mate the fx does get it done on the foxes to
Thanks mate
Hey Nath loving your content. Got a personal best 10 Indian mynas in the backyard trap last Sunday. Cheers mate
Well done
Nice one mate, that certainly is a target rich environment! Have recently picked up the Alpex 4K and like it much better than the Pard, field of view, picture quality, mag range and ease of use are all better in my opinion, still fine tuning the ballistics though! Love your videos, keep em coming! ;)
Awesome stuff Nathan. Love that scope! My fx loves the patriot slugs. I use 23gn for the small stuff and 34gn for the bigger pests :) they are super soft being 100% lead and dump the energy well on target. Keep up the good work!
I have run both the Patriots and Zans. Definitely my two choices for hunting.
Great video Nath. Im out next week withu bow for first time. Getting firepower soon tho 😁
👍
