  • Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, it is really appreciated, especially at this difficult time. After following several of your videos we now have a lovely, tidy Cockapoo. We will go back to our groomer once things get back to normal....wanna help her stay in business but this is really helpful short term. Thanks Watson as well x

  • that dog is incredibly well behaved and tolerant~ maybe i missed it but what length on the clippers

    @Caroline-qo3wx@Caroline-qo3wx6 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you, he wasn't always that way! I didn't mention length, as its dependent on the look you desire and the length you go with the body - I would have used either 3 3/4 FC Andis (13mm) or 3/4 Inch FC Andis (19mm) - the body length should generally be about 6mm shorter than the legs.

  • Ok what if you can’t brush the mat out I used coconut oil because my vet said it would moisten the area but he still has a mat! What # on clippers do you use? Thanks ahead

  • Hi, exactly what blade are u using on the legs. Is it the andis 3/4 inch? I could do with knowing the full name. My mini labradoodle hates having her legs brushed/combed, so her leg hair gets tangled. I use comb attachments all over the body. But u need a totally tangle free coat to use them, which is fine everywhere else. But I wondered if this 3/4 inch blade if used alone without a comb attachment would cut through tangles??

    @rebekahjones9327@rebekahjones93274 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Rebekah - I'm afraid this blade is the same, you need a totally tangle free coat to use clippers even if you aren't using an attachment - they just stop if you come across any tangles. You need to train your little one on having her legs brushed/combed. For example, people say to me "I can't clean my dogs teeth, he hates it" but at first Watson wouldn't even be in the same room as a toothbrush. Then came the power of cheese - if you use the "bucket training game" with her that will help but its basically just a case of bringing out the brush to start and showing it to her - have a piece of cheese (or her favourite treat, it has to be good) and you are offering the treat at the same time as the brush just touching her - it makes it so they have a choice - "You can have the treat, if you let me just rest the brush on your legs" - then you progress with it until the point she's happy with them being brushed. Watson still hates being brushed but he'll do it even though it takes me a while to get him to come to me - I'll sit with my pot of pork and the brush and he sits and thinks about it for a while like "Hmm, I really want the pork but I don't love the brushing" and then after a few minutes he jumps up and lets me brush him and he gets a bit of pork after ears/body/legs etc.

  • New follower, when you trim feet do you use normal scissors

    @tessayoung1056@tessayoung1056 Жыл бұрын
    • I'm not sure what you mean by "normal" scissors but curved scissors are best for trimming round the feet... any scissors could technically be used with the right technique lol. x

  • What's a good tip for clipping a dogs legs and feet who hates them being touched, I'd never get her to sit like that for her legs, it's a nightmare.
