If your intention wasn’t to shame this person for buying $2 lipstick, saying cheap lipstick is dangerous, then you are adding nothing to the conversation. It’s super easy to go around telling people cheap things are unsafe when you yourself are not struggling for money. Even if that was not your intentions, you can’t pretend that lower income people aren’t constantly being shamed for buying “unsafe” and “unethical” products.

@@ameya97 iconic as in influential, we don't need to call something iconic all the time for it to be iconic. This brown lip liner and a skin shade nude lipstick thing has been around for years and something she wears on a usual basis, infact in her most popular video i believe she's wearing the same combo. Not made iconic by her but iconic in general and come on if you have kept up with beauty trends you must be aware of this lip combo and before a week or so, there was this trend, where you use your eyebrow pencil as your lipliner (mostly brown or black) and then your shade of contour which produced similar results, these trends aren't new rather just modification of old ones, this looks similar to concealer lip and nude lip. I never said that this was something new or something out of the pandora box, it clearly isn't and for it to be called iconic, is that it's still influential, it's just recycling itself and coming back. I hope i made my side clear, no intention of disrespect towards anyone.

I was a teen in the 90s. I don’t remember lips like that. If you want a 90s lip, just get a metallic lipstick in a shade you want. I’m pretty sure revlon still makes the shade one of my friends used to wear. Edit: brown was considered a neutral, so there were many brown lip shades, but there was not a nude shade..

If your intention wasn’t to shame this person for buying $2 lipstick, saying cheap lipstick is dangerous, then you are adding nothing to the conversation. It’s super easy to go around telling people cheap things are unsafe when you yourself are not struggling for money. Even if that was not your intentions, you can’t pretend that lower income people aren’t constantly being shamed for buying “unsafe” and “unethical” products.

This brown lip liner and a skin shade nude lipstick thing has been around for years and something she wears on a usual basis, infact in her most popular video i believe she's wearing the same combo. Not made iconic by her but iconic in general and come on if you have kept up with beauty trends you must be aware of this lip combo and before a week or so, there was this trend, where you use your eyebrow pencil as your lipliner (mostly brown or black) and then your shade of contour which produced similar results, these trends aren't new rather just modification of old ones, this looks similar to concealer lip and nude lip. I never said that this was something new or something out of the pandora box, it clearly isn't and for it to be called iconic, is that it's still influential, it's just recycling itself and coming back. I hope i made my side clear, no intention of disrespect towards anyone.

I’m pretty sure revlon still makes the shade one of my friends used to wear. Edit: brown was considered a neutral, so there were many brown lip shades, but there was not a nude shade..
