Hey there, and welcome to my new series WW Real Talk! Today, we're diving into the popular belief that going low carb is the ultimate solution for weight loss. With the diabetic plan making low carb all the rage among WW members, it's natural to wonder if it's absolutely necessary to jump on the low carb bandwagon. Well, guess what? I'm here to challenge that idea and present you with a friendlier perspective.
Join me on this exciting journey as we explore the notion that weight loss is more about consistency and finding what truly works for you as an individual. Sure, low carb diets have their benefits, but they're definitely not the only path to shedding those extra pounds. In fact, I'll share some awesome reasons why I'm not personally going low carb.
Get ready to uncover the myths surrounding low carb diets and debunk the misconceptions that have fueled their popularity. We'll address common concerns and provide evidence-based insights into the effectiveness of various dietary approaches. From breaking the stereotype that carbs are the enemy to understanding the significance of balanced nutrition, my aim is to empower you with knowledge and help you make informed decisions about your weight loss journey.
This is where you come in! I'd love for you to join the conversation as we share personal experiences and stories that challenge the prevailing low carb narrative. Let's have an open-minded discussion that takes into account individual preferences, metabolic differences, and the potential impact on overall health.
Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all approach to weight loss. While low carb might be a game-changer for some, it might not be your cup of tea, and that's totally fine. It's all about finding what works best for you and embracing consistency, self-awareness, and personal discovery to achieve sustainable weight loss.
If you've ever wondered whether you truly need to go low carb to lose weight, this video is an absolute must-watch. Together, let's broaden our understanding, challenge popular beliefs, and embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery to find the most effective path towards our personal weight loss goals.

  • I don't see how Kim was bashing anyone. She was just explaining what works or doesn't work for her.

  • I’ve seen so many people leaving WW. The 0 point foods never worked for me and I gained weight. Now WW is using diabetic drugs and I just think they’ve veered too far from healthy eating, moderation and movement. I count calories and and eat limit my total carbs to about 100 per day and have much more success. I used to love WW and was a member for about 30 years.

    • I agree - some of the business moves are less about the participants and success. I love the message from when I first joined: eat smarter, move more. Thank you for watching!

  • I’m doing it right now. It’s really pretty easy. I use my dailies to track beef and pork, fats and oils, etc. I use the zero point veggies and protein but I only eat until I’m satisfied

  • I love the balance approach you talk about. I joined back after watching your videos. I have been keto since February and my body can't handle fat, so I thought WW would help balance the low carb with the lower fat.

  • I Love that the WW plan always gives us a choice in how we use our daily/weekly points. I have learned so much following ( making better decision on my food/portions) & attending in person meeting's. I so look forward to your Video post. Thank you Kim✋❤️

  • It is the only way for me to lose any weight. I can still eat the foods I love on low carb. People think you can't have fruit, beans, pasta or potatoes... not true. It is how you eat them and when. Ww never worked for me. Low calorie doesn't work for me. I have kept off 40lbs for 10 years eat low to moderate carb. Do what works for you but one is not better.

    • Thank you for watching! When I'm being "good" (I hate saying that), my carbs are lower but never low carb. I'm trying to get over a plateau right now and just trying to be super honest tracking.

  • Excellent vlog! Thank you. I have lost 106 pounds in the past 17 months eating a ketogenic diet. However in the past couple of months even following the diet very strictly I stalled and wasn’t losing at all. I still have 60 pounds to go so I decided to go back on Weight Watchers. I am eating low-ish carbs, but nowhere near the less than 20 grams I was eating on keto. The freedom of having 1/2 cup of rice, or beans (which I craved all the time while on keto), or potatoes, all in very small quantities has just been amazing! I am trying to stay to under 100 grams of carbs at the most, and usually I eat 50 grams or under. I’m only at 2 weeks, but after months of not losing any weight on keto, I lost 5 pounds my first week on WW, 3 pounds week two. I’m really happy, and I am finding it easy, certainly easier than keto. Lower carbs is still better for me, (I am a 64 year old diabetic), but the choice is mine. If I want a little more carbs, I can have them without “cheating”! Anyway, thanks again for this content. I subscribed and am looking forward to checking out more of your content. 😊

  • I've seen a lot more low-carb/leaving WW for low-carb people (of course once I watched one video, more of my suggestions were that!). Like you, I can't sustain "official" low-carb long-term (and definitely not keto). I like low-carb meals, and I can stay low(ish) carbs, but I refuse to cut anything out forever!

    • I inherently eat fewer carbs when I'm "on plan." But it's because I am eating more veggies and lean protein. And I definitely love a good low carb meal, too! Eggs and center cut bacon are my jam! Thanks for watching!

    • I have been low carb for 10 years and kept 40lbs off. I haven't given up one food. Low carb is not no carb. I have carbs every day in almost every meal. I have desserts. I don't care if people do it but the idea you have to give up foods entirely I just not accurate.

  • I am so glad that your video popped up on my feed as a suggested video to watch! I've done WW in the past and I am also a Type 2 Diabetic to help me control my diabetes and live a subtainable lifestyle my doctor referred me to a Registered Dietitian/Diabetes Educator who worked out a Low Carb Meal Plan to help me balance my blood sugar with my medication. With this plan I have a total number of grams of carbs and protein that I eat per day. It saddens me to see so many people following KZheadrs who left WW to do Low Carb when this is something that all doctor recommend🤣🤣..... Also, I am seeing some people counting carbs as if it carb counting is a low carb diet! If you are a Pre-diabetic you should not be counting carbs and restricting you carbs so low.

  • I agree with you Kim. I don't think I can be consistent long term with a really low carb way of eating. I want to be able to eat everything, but eat a balanced and correct portion diet. I strive everyday to get to this point. But, I do belive Weight Watchers is a great program that teaches you about healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Hi. The diabetic plan just removes some zero point foods like corn, fruit, yogurt. You do receive a few more daily points but the point formula is the exact same as the normal plan. As a diabetic the diabetic plan didn’t offer difference to the normal plan.

  • Low carb is not sustainable for me. They also have nutrients that I need. I understand if people need to watch carbs due to blood sugar issues. I just don’t feel carbs are the enemy. It just seems so many are now low carb. On WW lots of carbs are higher points so we are keeping them under control. Great video!

  • Do you still have your swim spa? If so was it worth it a couple years later?

    @SugarLandFishingBros@SugarLandFishingBros10 ай бұрын
    • We absolutely still have the swim spa! I am not swimming for exercise as much but still use it four to five days a week for relaxation. And my youngest son is in it all the time. It's been really, really good for him. He had a huge fear of water. HUGE. Now, he's a little fish.

  • Seems to bother you that some people are successful doing low carb. I know what KZhead channel you’re bashing and that’s too bad. Lost all respect for you

    @julied.1471@julied.147110 ай бұрын
    • I appreciate the input but I respectfully disagree. I think it's important for people to find what works. And, as I said, if that's low carb, that's great. However, I do think it's important for people to know that it's not the only way. I also think people should always keep their "why" top of mind.

      @kmtruesdell@kmtruesdell10 ай бұрын
    • @@kmtruesdell you could have done that in a much more supportive way to people who choose low carb. You can across as judgmental and frankly incorrect. It is unfortunate. Also the fact that you seem to not care about people who have watched your channel for years. I will be moving on but I hope you rethink this video.
