  • Rublev has to rest up. His level this tournament spoke volumes. 36 unforced errors, 58% first serve in (53% first match), and 4 double faults (7 first match) are far from what we’ve seen in Madrid and how Andrey is capable of playing. He has to take some time off to recover and regroup before the French open.

    • before that he was on how many match losing streak? Madrid was his fluke tournament of the year. That form is not coming back, sorry. Especially if you are as braindead as rublev. Temperamental child.

    • @@iansmirna5183 Alcaraz, Fritz, or any other player Andrei faced in Madrid didn’t play much worse than Muller or were even better. It didn’t bother Andrei to serve 75% and above first serve in, whereas this tournament he’s making a lot of errors in this department. Also, unforced errors are called unforced for a reason.

  • Wadzefok. Mind blowing. There are very few players able to hold a boom boom war with Rublev especially lately with the confidence he's been capitalizing. First set, I was thinking this will finish early seeing the pace of Rublev getting installed but the consistency of Muller was out of this world. Kudos to him, he's been doing good in the last years, not easy for someone alternating between Challenger and ATP circuits.

  • I'm curious about the official rules for the situation at 1:36. Muller hits a volley, it lands on the ground on Rublev's side, good, then spins backwards and hits the net on Rublev's side. Let's say that Rublev was right there at the net. Could he hit the ball after it touched the net? Or is the point over as soon as the ball touches the net, before it touches the ground a second time? Replies please ONLY from people who are sure of the answer and can cite a rule. I've played tournaments for 40 years and don't know the answer.

  • Rublev won Madrid as the top players were injured. Lehecka, who beat Rublev in IW, was injured in semis. Carlos played with an elbow injury. In finals, it was a fluke contender Felix - who didn't play half the matches and almost beat Rublev. Andrey had a 500-level competition in Madrid after early exits in the last 4 tournaments! Giron nearly beat him in Rome.

    @tmatrix1@tmatrix110 күн бұрын
  • Who does Rublev always shout at when he makes a long ball? It's not their fault - or maybe indirectly his coach? And to everyone saying he should find a therapist; believe me, he's already done that - just hope he continues to stay on the ball with him. I like Rublev, he's a cool guy & capable of it - we've seen it recently. Now I hope, and wouldn't begrudge him, if at least his compatriot (they didn't contribute anything to the war, so for the sad, macabre war, this is Putin's war) Medvedev wins the title here.
