Hi Larry, Thanks for your video. I bought remote honda remote starter along with my 2015 honda civic EX. When I start my car with remote starter, it is shutting off the engine when I open the door. In remote starter manual, its mentioned as security feature to prevent auto theft. Whereas other company cars doesn't do this. Is there any way that I can overcome this. I want to keep engine running when I open the doors even. Thanks.

I have my crv for 3 years now and it’s only now I know about this.
I have a New Honda Civic hatchback and have discovered a problem with the remote start..it seems to work intermittently, ie my very first time using the remote in the morning, I could not start my car. I tried with the other remote and still no start. I took it to back to Honda and they said I tried too many times and a safety feature kicked in, HOW is that possible when you only tried 1 time? have you heard of this issue?

I just got my New Honda City in India. same smart key you are showing. my question is what happen when at last you left your car running after someone can drive away without key ? how far he can go ? or car will go on sleep after how much time ? if key battery is not working then what ? can i start car and drive ? what about sensors ? will it work ? Average life of battery time ? how many years ? Is there any manual mode or other optional things provided ?

Hi Larry- Thanks for the video. its really informative. However, I've a question. I'm planning to buy a 2014 Honda City in India. Does this have an auto-lock option? I mean what will happen if for example I go shopping in a mall and forget to lock the car using the smart key? If it doesn't have any auto lock option(say the car gets locked after a minute or so), anybody can open the doors and get inside the car right? Isn't this a security issue in the car. Also does it have an alarm system so that the car sounds an alarm if somebody tries to forcefully break into the car(like pull the door handles for example). Please do let me know. Thanks!
hi, i think it works like my toyota estima, it wont lock unless u touch the button at the door with the smart key in your pocket. if the key is inside the car, it wont lock. what i do to remind me is , i add a relay to my auto folding side mirrors, so when i lock my car, my side mirror folds, so when i am far, i just checked my side mirrors. the side mirror only unfold when my engine started.

what if my unlock button doesn't open the windows by pressing the unlock buttom twice and holding down on the second press?
I have a 2013 Honda Accord and sometimes when I push the start button and brake pedal at same time it just clicks. after the 3rd try it will turn over is there something I'm doing wrong? after 3rd try I have to stop because break pedal hardens up and you can't push it. This doesn't happen all the time just every now and then and of course it didn't do it when I took it to the dealership.
I would get that checked out asap.

Sounds dumb, but does the trunk automatically lock itself after closing it? Whenever I lock my car and then go get something out of my trunk and then close it, I always unlock and then lock the car again just to make sure the trunk is locked.
+bdizzlecan yes of course it does lock itself when you close it.
What if a driver wanted to keep the engine on to keep Passengers cool and Wanted to visit accross the road to pick up some thing also wanted to keep the central locking on for safety.

You can still start the car with the push button even if the fob is dead by holding it very close to the push button. It must have RFID chip.

Only if you do not have the iMid display. You can get an aftermarket Carplay stereo. If you have an iMid display and get a Carplay unit then you won't be able to control the iMid display.
Honda/Acura should intergrade 2-Way Remote Starter with the Smart Keys.
My key was left in a bag which was placed in the trunk and I couldn't unlock it. Unfortunately, spare key was in my house and I was elsewhere when this happened. Spent 800 on taxi services to pick up the spare and back to my car not to mention wasted time!
What would be a reason the outside drivers door handle button no longer locks the car. The Passenger door handle button and the tail gate button still locks the car. It's only the drivers door handle button that no longer locks the car. The drivers side door handle touch still oppens the car doors. Strange.
Who says they can't turn it on after leaving with the key (the beeping does sound when I close the door and I have the key however)? I have a car that starts without the key being close, it even says "No Key" on the dash but the car still starts no problem and gears can be changed lol. Did I forget to mention that the "Power is On" message is displayed on the screen along with the radio/navigator always on when the engine is off? The car only cycles from Power is On to Accessory and the start when the break pedal is pressed.
How my kids threw my key it was ran over it won't start now 350 to get new key omg
