Another option that I learned from one of Donna's videos was chopping the old clay and putting it in a food processor with your conditioner, then hit the pulse button a few times, to get it going.
True, Miss Robin...absolutely true. I just want to get my clay going without having to have another device to condition it with, and if all it is is putting a little vaseline or oil into the clay to get it moving...well, it works. But thank you so much for that bit of information!! Sending hugs!! :)
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. The best gift a person can give.
Awwwwww.... and thank you for being so kind in your compliment and comment here. I try to cover as much as possible in my videos and get what I know out here. I am human, so sometimes I might miss something once in awhile, and that's hard on the perfectionist in me. LOL!! But I will continue to do my best. I just thank you for letting me know I am making a difference. Big hugs your way, lady!! :)
Very helpful! Thanks Laura!
Thank you so much!! ...and You are most welcome, Carolyn!! It certain has helped me out with conditioning and getting my rock hard clay manageable. Sending hugs! :)
I have watched every video on conditioning clay that I can find on KZhead BUT...this is the absolute best one ever! Conditioning the scariest thing (next to reducing) in getting started with polymer clay. Even if conditioning seems uber elementary to you...this is a really powerful video. Thank you so much.
WOW!! JUST WOW!! What a fantastic compliment!! And really it was my goal... Like you I have seen videos on conditioning clay...but they never "Show" the process really well. I was hoping I did so here and that it would make a difference. Thank you....so sincerely and with humbleness in the heart...thank you!! Big hugs your way!! :)
Thank you so much for sharing this information 😊. Its really helpful. Great tutorial ❤😊!
Thank you so much, Miss Mary!! I am soooo glad it is useful information on the clay and that you enjoyed the video itself. Again, thank you!! I have been putting off this video for long enough and it needed to be done. Sending you my big hugs! :)
Thank you sooo much for this video. I have some old clay and I though I would have to toss it but now I can bring it back to life.
Ohhh, you are most welcome!! And I am thrilled you can now bring your clay back into a workable and fun medium!! Sending you my big hugs! :)
Thank you Laura I thought I was going to throw my liquid clay away 😢 now I can fix it😊
OHHHH NOOO!! And if you do throw it away...give it to me!! LOLOLOLOLOL!! I will admit I have a problem. I am a clay hoarder!! LOL!! But yes, I am thrilled you can now save your clay and have fun with it!! Big hugs!! :)
Thank you! Very good video! ❤
Thank you for your compliment and comment!! I am glad it was so helpful. Sending hugs!! :)
i have put clay in a plastic bag and hit it with a hammer lol, had to add a bit of liquid clay in it and hammer in the bag. doesnt take too long and great if you dont have a machine
Yeah, I never really tried that… It’s a good idea, though! Mine does seem to get everywhere. I probably should just put it in a bag and make it easy on myself! Thing for me is though I always using my pasta machine to help condition my clay, kind of makes it nice because then I get a nice slab and I could put it in my deli sheets right away… But it’s a good idea. I have to try that! Thank you for that advice. I definitely will have to do this… Especially if I have a lot of anxiety to work out!🤣😂🤣 which I think for everyone is most every day!!😂🤣😂 sending my biggest hugs lady!🤗❤️👍🏻
The color of your clay will go back to original color once baked. The translucent appears whit unbaked but will become translucent once baked
Thank you Miss Theresa!!! Bless you!! I forgot this...can you believe that?!! LOLOL!! Very true! Again thank you for your comment!! Sending hugs! :)
Como limpias tu máquina de pasta sin desarmarla?
Thank you for this question!! And that is a good one. I "clean" my pasta machine by running through a piece of white clay, that I don't care about, through the machine over and over again until I get most all of whatever color I was dealing with before out of the machine. I know that there are those that like to "take the fenders off" their pasta machines, but it never really worked for me, so this is the method I use. It picks up the dirt and in a way "cleans the machine". I hope this helps you some. Big hugs! :)
If you don't want to smell like baby oil, mineral oil is the same thing without the scent.
Nice!! I will definitely remember that one!! And thank you for that information...it will come in handy. Big hugs your way!! :)
So, it retains the smell of a few drops of baby oil in a small amount of clay after baking??
no, my hands do @@MsSassySean
