Got myself a 6600xt and thrilled with it. Sips power and it's around a 1080ti in performance.
Definitely impressed with the performance AMD was able to pack into this thing, just a shame that the pricing's so all over the place.
It's a good little chunk better.
It’s 320$ for it a good price rn
Awesome video bro. Was super fun😊.
3:37 an unrelated comment on aesthetics, do you remember in the early 2000s where every expansion card had a cgi character on it. Strange monsters, ice, fire, knives and everything in between. Heck before the all black aesthetic, even motherboard were weirdly coloured with brightly coloured pci express and ram slots. Those days so strange but still fun. Always had the idea of swapping one of those older gpu cooler on a newer card (though I never did), also makes you realise just how much more heat never gpus coolers have to deal with.
Duuuude, my first card was one of those with a Cerberus on it, it was soooooo cool! One of my dream projects is to do a custom shroud in a style similar to that for whatever card is at the top of the charts at the time. Needless to say in this market that would be a very hard sell to get any manufacturer on board 😂
Managed to get this card yesterday at Amazon for 409, still above msrp but waaay better than paying 600+ like people were a few months ago. I finished my first PC build ever and have been surviving with a Ryzen 7 5700G due the lack of properly priced GPUs so I'm pretty pumped for trying the card as soon as it arrives 👌
Nice, I think you'll be very happy with the performance, especially for your first PC!
I got mine for $279
HELP !!! I got nitro+sapphire rx vega 64 , should i upgrade to 6600xt ?. Is it worth upgrading ?. Memory bus of vega 64 is 326 bit and 6600xt got 128 bit ..
tanx 4 the rev bro
No idea why I didn't get the notification that you uploaded but still glad to be here

@@TheTechTank aweh thanks man
My 1060 3gb can't handle new games anymore so I might go for this card. I play in 1080p only anyway so this is the perfect card for me. Mindboggling how the 3060 is $200 more expensive than the 6600 XT where I'm from. Crazy times.
That price difference is insane. No way to justify paying that much more for about the same performance with pretty lighting tossed in.
@@seamus3658 I did not get it. It does not seem worth the price. Sorry lol hope others can help.
@@Dxntoo no gpu is worth the price currently. the rx 6600, rx 6600 xt, and rx 6700 xt are the best options in todays market
@@TheTechTank 3gb is way to low for today gaming damm
@@JesManVP depend on the game, playing with intel HD just fine
That was a great review
Appreciate it!
Will this fit on a mini itx build? Would you get this or the Asrock challenger?
Depends on the mini ITX case in question as they all have different restrictions on GPU sizes they support. It depends on the price. I'd go for whichever's cheaper if I'm on a budget, but if not I'd take the Gaming X every day.
how does the gaming x 6600xt compare to the mech x2 6600xt?
I cant find any gaming x available in my country. is MSI RX 6600 XT MECH 2X OC a good option too?
It's a pretty good option, should be a fair bit cheaper too. The MECH cards used to run very hot back in the day, but from what I've seen the more recent models handle the heat just fine.
I got this card on Amazon for 339 because it was prime day. Original price was 530 such a steal! Glad that the gpu market isn't how it was in a year like 2021
Pretty decent deal all things considered. I think we're all super happy the GPU market is finally almost back to normal 😂
Im interested in ray tracing but am happy to wait. Rdna2 isn't there yet. I hope rdna3 or Nvidia's 4000 series will make a leap.
If you want to experience ray tracing, it's definitely worth waiting for the optimized next-gen tech from either team. RT on hardware that can't do it properly will just leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
I got a 7-8 months old MSI Rx 6600xt at 240 USD..is it a good deal or bad??Should i grab it
Cheapest I can see selling for new is around $300, so sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
I’m getting a rx 6600 xt soon, for around €630, it’s alote for the card but I’ve been waiting for over a year for a gpu and I just cant anymore, I also underestimated this card when it launched cuz I could’ve gotten it a lil cheaper.
Oof, hate to see fellow gamers overpaying like that, but I totally understand. No one knows exactly when prices will go back to normal, so I don't blame anyone for not being able to hold out longer.
@@TheTechTank ty for understanding, it has been a dream for me to start content creation and gaming which is why I built a pc which is also why I cant wait any longer
Got mine for €450 :)
@@baigfoot great man. Happy for you. Enjoy. Its an amazing card honestly
@@Fantomyy yesss thank you! I heard its really really good
I have rx 580 4gb and feel like I'm at a huge disadvantage, getting this one tomorrow should be a decent upgrade right? Mine is not xt though 😔
The 6600 is a great upgrade, about 50-ish percent more performance than the 580. I think you'll be super happy with it.
@@TheTechTank i really didn't see an increase at all if any am I doing something wrong? 😂 figured it out single channels..also I didnt ddu
@@blvckdog5267 How big the difference will look like depends on the games you're playing, lol. For people like me who always watch the FPS numbers the difference is very clear, but for normal people (who probably also have V-sync turned on) you'll either only notice that the game runs "smoother" or if you have a high refresh rate monitor you'll definitely "feel" the extra performance.
I got lucky buying this card on Newegg for 600$ but ended up being 720$ after taxes and I bought a 3 year protection plan with it, I'm looking forward to see how it runs since I'm upgrading from having an Rx 570 8gb
Dang, that's going to be more than a 100% upgrade over the 570, I think you'll be very happy with it. Though I'm confused about what the protection plan is for... GPUs all ship with a 3 year warranty, and if there really is an issue they'll replace or fix it without too much hassle.
@@TheTechTank I had a 570 4 gb version it was so bad I got this card
they 300 rn rip
@@JesManVP I had the rx 570 8gig version but still struggled a lot since I play flight sim so getting g a 6600xt was a definite plus
@@KiRiTO72987 yep 👍 for sure 6600 xt
I just bought new pc with this gpu so i want to ask what is best amd driver software for MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X?
The best driver software is the latest version of AMD's Adrenalin which you can download here: www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-6000-series/amd-radeon-6900-series/amd-radeon-rx-6900-xt Unless you mean the best software to tweak settings, in which case MSI's Afterburner is the one I use.
The spec on my PC show PCI 3.0 can I use this card . I have the and 540 Im thinking . With the ryzen 7 1700 thanks
Yes, you can use 4.0 cards in 3.0 systems, they'll just run at 3.0 speeds and that's more than enough.
i have rx580 8gb armor i want to buy a new one and i dont know what.... i m thinking about 6600xt or what else ? i have no idea anymore :/ i want something with low temperatures any ideas ?:(
Depends entirely on your budget. The 6600 XT should get you about 50% more performance than the 580, so definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you can find it at a good price. As for something that runs cool, pretty much all of the higher-end versions of whatever card you want to go with should run plenty cool.
Just bought this for $400 brand new. This will be my first Pc so I’m excited
Not a bad price all things considered, and one heck of a GPU for a first system, congrats!
@@TheTechTank yup! I’m hoping to get it set up end of the week. I did sell my PS5 to build this pc lol
@@mehmi121 And here I am trying to save up for a PS5 🤣

It's very good. Recently did a review of the 12400 and it's great. That chip and this card will be a perfect match.

Super decent deal for sure, congrats!
honestly i got this card in town for 800 flat its a shame the prices are high i got a intel i7-7700 what should i upgrade to next?
Really depends on your budget and how long you wanna wait. Intel's new 12th gen chips are great, and AMD is expected to release their next-gen chips early next year.

Pricing in Australia is a lot lower at $899Aud than the RTX 3060 ($1099 Aud) / RTX 3060 TI ($1299-$1399 Aud ) In United States Dollars 6600XT is lower at $640 USD than the RTX 3060 ($780 USD) / RTX 3060 TI ($925-$996 USD ) all prices include the 10% GST (sales tax) BTW RTX 3090 is $4KAud ($2850 USD)
Holy crap those prices are eye-watering. For those prices the 6600 XT is definitely a no-brainer for me.
@@TheTechTank thanks for the reply. BTW I am a 67 year old retired computer programmer/ micro-electronic engineer. Been computer user since 1971 (IBM 370), PC owner since 1977 (started with TRS-80 Model 1) , current beast is a AMD 5600G in MSI B550 Tomahawk Mobo with 2x1TB M.2, 32GB ram and the new MSI 6600XT gpu. I am upgrading to AMD 5950X in new year, but the 5600G is amazing for the price. Those prices are from authorised dealers selling stock from the official distributors. Dang, that's so cool. The amount of stuff you must've learned working with tech for so long probably dwarfs my onw experience entirely. I only really started getting into it in about 2015 😂 Your current rig sounds awesome, do you do a lot of gaming on it?
@@TheTechTank yes Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Age of Empires 2 & 3 . Main use however is programming, drone video editing & web maintenance (I own a couple hundred websites)

The best KZhead videos are the ones where a cat makes an appearance literally within the first 20 seconds

The difference between 3060 and 6600 xt is 100$ where i am from Which one is the right choice
I assume the 6600 XT is the more expensive one?The 6600 XT should perform about 10% better than the 3060 in most cases except ray tracing. Whether that 10% is worth the $100 is up to you.
@@TheTechTank Nope 6600 xt is cheaper and well i decided to order a asus oc editon 6600 xt
@@WolfyOP Nice, easy choice to go with the 6600 XT then.
@@TheTechTank Yep :)
why should i go with this one instead of the normal Red Devil or OC version of the 6600xt?? what makes the gamingX any more special?
With partner models like this, the differences are almost exclusively in the cooling and aesthetics departments. Certain cards will run cooler, quieter, or look better than others, but unless something goes horribly wrong they should all perform about the same. You should pick according to which of those (and price) are most important to you.
in my country 6600 xt is $50 cheaper than 3060, i’ll probably upgrade to 6600 xt from 1650 super lol
Dang, that's going to be a pretty major upgrade! The 6600 XT should perform about twice as fast as the 1650 Super.
Just bought this msi rx6600x for $145.00 , lol , Sorry you guys paid $400.00 a year a ago, good i waited , my rx580 last me 7 years , so happy.
Just got a XFX Merc 308 6650XT for $299.99. Best Buy and Amazon had them at that price for the last week. The Gigabyte Gaming OC 6650XT was and still is $284.99. But Gigabyte has a bad rap lately and I stay away from their products.

@@TheTechTank exactly
Think it's performance isn't so great at higher resolution
It's definitely not great for 1440p or 4K at more than medium/high quality settings, unfortunately.
I got exactly zero rgb in my computer I don’t like that shiiiiiiit
Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm a fan of a bunch of zero RGB builds, but there's also nothing wrong with people who do like pretty lights, lol.
Rgb lighting is for kids
RGB lighting's been a premium gaming PC feature for decades at this point, people even used to use ultraviolet lights in their builds for liquid cooling systems. You don't have to like it, that's why on most parts you can turn it off entirely, so there's no point complaining about it.
