06:06 How we solved it
10:05 What is a BIDET?
📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

  • Bidet instructional video. Fantastic! So many people have not understood or realise the practicality of this device. I suspect this will go viral….hopefully so🙏 You have not made any mistakes! You have a breathtaking abode that has been designed, constructed and finished with love and thought. Be very proud❤️

  • Am also 100% in favour of the bidet return ! Hygienic, ecologically sound vs using half a roll of paper in worse case… you just need to have the space for it. So glad the waterproofing issue got solved without impacting the fabulous look of the bathroom. Just a small eco-friendly advice regarding your beautiful fireplace / stove : try to light it upside down : bigger logs at the bottom, then thinner ones, and kindling on top. No paper but just a small wood ships on top to ignite the whole. You will see it works wonder : it smokes less, keeps your front door cleaner. And finally when it’s all over and the window is cold, use a paper cloth, wet it gently, pick some white ashes and rub the whole against the glass…. It dissolves any brownish deposit in seconds.😊 congratulations on your beautiful and cosy home ! Best regards, Pierre

  • I first saw and used a bidet in Paris when I was there as a young woman. I thought it was ingenious. However, as I lived in the US for most of my life (I am now 76 and was born in the UK), I learned how to maintain intimate hygiene in other ways. Needless to say, I had an entire drawer full of washcloths that could only be used one time before laundry haha. I moved to Italy over a decade ago and I don't know how people can live without a bidet. I use it in many ways. Also, my younger friends, mothers of small children, use the bidet to teach their children to wash their hands after using the toilet, or to wash their hands before eating. For those who are interested in getting a bidet (and yes you can buy them in the US) make sure it's installed next to the toilet and not across the room. Thank you for bringing this topic up as the Americans I know get very embarrassed if the topic is mentioned and say things like "it was used only for prostitutes, I'm not a prostitute" or my favorite "you mean they don't use toilet paper?" OMG! haha.

  • My favorite video of MAVI. No bidets here in the U.S. but I almost installed one after my stay in Salerno last year. Maddi, you should have been paid by a bidet company for your demonstration and explanation. The BEST I have ever seen, actually the only one I have ever seen. But it was so funny and you were blushing which made it so cute, entertaining, and educational. Thank you for teaching the rest of us. Loved the music as always.

A bidet is one of the few really essential objects/equipments in life. One thing I would like to ask. What is the name of the product you applied to the walls and floor to make them waterproof? Thank you!

    • @@nerther7625 Bidets are easy to add. They take up very little room and you can jump off from your sink lines so you can have hot water (not too hot). My boyfriend is a journeyman so he can do plumbing, electrical and all sorts of things! Bidets make you feel clean without always having the time to get in the shower. I see more people are installing bidets in new builds but it's not rocket science either.

The bidet is an everyday thing in my house and has been for 25 years. It wasn’t common at all when we built our home and I have had to explain how and why we have it. You did a very good job explaining both the plaster and sealant as well as the bidet. Thank you so much.😂

In all the houses I have lived in in Spain, there has always been a bidet in each bathroom. Showering is very good, but, at most, you do it once or twice a day (depending on the heat or how much you sweat), but, for me, using the bidet is essential (or very convenient) to do it several times a day whenever you use the toilet or need specific cleaning of your intimate areas without having to undress completely to take a shower.

• Buon pomeriggio! Qui in Brasile, i bidet erano molto comuni nelle case e negli appartamenti costruiti fino agli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta.

  • When in Italy, I always had to explain to people from the U.S. what a bidet was used for, the women were extremely embarrassed when I explained the necessities. We always referred to it as the Roman sock washer, it was extremely useful for washing socks and underwear in small quantities.
