Aquascape Tutorial: How To Make A Natural Planted Dirted Tank | Low Tech Tank | Ecosystem Aquarium
Welcome to my new project!
After a long time, I have enough energy to start working on this huge tank. I want to experience something different now. A long time ago, I had 7-8 planted tanks which were way smaller than this one. Now, it’s time to step it up a level.
This tank have no filter, no heater, and no chemicals in it. I want to create natural self-sustainable ecosystem.
Nature always inspires me and I’m trying to put everything together how I learn from nature.
Thank you so much for watching this video!

Very nicely done. Your techniques are gentle and well thought out. Congratulations on a lovely video emphasizing the extraordinary value of a genuinely natural aquarium,
Thank you so much! Nice to see you here 👋 I love your content on dirted tanks! Thank you for also teaching these techniques to so many people.
Hi Father Fish 😊
Im thinking of having a dirted tank without a cap... or rather organics will eventually create one. Any insights on this please if it can work?
💣 Father has very few small fish per gallon in the tank, "hungry fish = healthy fish", few small fish that are fed little and rarely produces little waste, "nitrates and algae are not a problem", "nitrates harm the fish if they are above 500". 💣 Kevin Novak wants a lot of big fish per gallon, "I want to feed the fish a lot every day several times a day", this produces a lot of waste, "nitrate levels are very low in nature", "plants don't need a lot of nitrogen", "I don't want algae ". As a result, we have the following. 💣 Few hungry fish per gallon, a little waste, a ton of plants, nitrate 400 (FOUR HUNDRED), relatively a lot of algae - Father makes videos "My successful aquariums", "You shouldn't do water changes", "Algae is your beast?", "Nitrate is not an issue", "300 aquariums 8 years - 0 maintenance!", water changes - once every six months. 💣Lots of fish per gallon, lots of food lots of waste, few plants, nitrate 40 (FORTY), my tank has a little algae - Kevin Novak makes a video "This Tank Fails, I Reset It!" Thus, *Father's successful aquarium and Kevin Novak's successful aquarium are completely different things!!!* Please note: Father does not test the water for nitrate, this is not an issue for him! Try to find at least one video of him measuring nitrate levels! In contrast, you will find a bunch of videos in which Kevin Novak makes and shows the nitrate level: *he wants it to be zero, like in nature! Kevin Novak strives to have nitrate levels in the aquarium similar to those found in nature! And Father has nitrate levels up to 500 (FIVE HUNDRED) and talks about a "natural aquarium".*

Which AI voice did you use? It sounds very realistic
I love how all of the ottos flock to the glass in unison at 11:50 One of my favorite fish
I love them a lot too!
Tiny fish in a massive planted tank, perfect! Great video and amazing work 👌
Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes, not everyone loves it, but I do. Takano Amashi's idea to imitate terrestrial landscapes underwater is a terrible idea, but *creating an aquarium with a completely non-standard fish/aquarium proportion, few small fish in a large space is Takano Amashi's great contribution to aquarium hobby.*
Wholly agree that large aquariums with tiny schooling fish are perfect.
Your radio VOICE the music, the graphics I mean everything had me hooked to your video and fatherfish approves so! I’m subscribing! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I appreciate it! 👏
Wow! Simply wow! This tank gets my best of 2023 vote!!!
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Filtering the material, making the videos, and editing. Thats a lot if efforts. Great stories, Awesome video dude !
Thank you so much! Yes, it took so much time and effort 🌿
Loved it ! Imitate nature and let it do its thing! Felt so peaceful to learn there’s barely any “aquatic gadgets” in this ecosystem!! ❤
Thank you so much! I glad you loved it 👏 Peace & Love
@@peaceofnaturee pleasure is mine! I was building my own tank in my mind, while watching your tank come to life! Will redo mine soon enough, hopefully
@@DPac9 Perfect! Good luck for your setup 🤞
Your voice is relaxing and soothing. You deserve millions of subscribers.❤
Thank you so much! I hope one day 🙏🏻 Btw It’s not my real voice.
It's AI garbage
To be honest this is the most beautiful aquarium I have ever seen up to today, because it's so natural
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
This is a complete video. Thanks. Will be using your methods to make my 3 ft tank. Thanks
Thank you so much! Good luck!
Amazing presentation! I also find your way of narrating the video therapeutic and very enjoyable.
Thank you so much! 👏👏
this is a very well made in depth video explaining the true success and beauty that comes with a natural freshwater aquarium, keep up the good work of sharing your knowledge to inexperienced aquatic animal keepers, we need to keep pushing out the information so we will have less rainbow gravel plastic plant glass boxes that kill fish and cause people to give up when they have been mislead into believing thats the way to do it.
Thank you so much!
This is an awesome video, man! The low tech aquarium is the most exciting thing in aquarium keeping, and yours looks amazing!
Thank you so much!
Your Voice is crazy chilled
Mate that tank is an absolute dream, well done. My experience with those little hair ties is that they eventually break and are then a bit of a pain to fish out and I guess are a small risk of being ingested by fish, so just keep an eye out for that. Great video, earned yourself another sub.
Thank you so much! I will be careful about hair ties maybe I can take them off soon.
I saw the video thumbnail and came to check it out. I was sold on your voice and narration. Your aquascaping skills was just an added bonus. Superb production. Happily subscribed.
Thank you so much, it made me happy ❤️ Welcome!
I have to disagree ….the voiceover sounds canned or robotic…..sorry.
@@douglasnoren3348 I respect you! I don’t like my voice and my English not perfect fluance. I prefer to use voiceover.
I got two tiny glass vases on our dinning table (probably 5L water each), have many plants and 2-3 guppys, shrimps and snells in each. No water change, just pour more water if the water level is low (probably once after two months), no filter, no CO2...etc. When I built them, I aimed for a setup as simple as possible to reduce maintaince time. They have been running well for already two years.
It’s perfect 👍 Congratulations!
Hi, can you share your setup, i just want to make the same! What plants do you recomend? And what soil ? Thanks
@@jamesbond4349 As mentioned above, my setups are very very simple. They include 5L vase with small (cheap) gravels, different types of plants (Vallisneria, bucephalandra, anubias, mosses, duck weed, bugle and mermaid weeds, ...). All are small enough to fit inside those vases, but not too dense so i still can see some gaps in between them. It took about one month to stabilize the water. During that time, I change water probably once a week. When plants are all good and started to have new roots and leaves (especially the weeds, as they only develop well inside clean water), I slowly put in some snells, then schrimps, and finally fishes. Schrimps like the weeds, they need clean water to be alive... To clean to gravels and glass I aslo have Malaysian Trumpet and Nerita snails. About light, just a 5W white LED is enough, that is set to automatically switch on/off from 8 AM to 9 PM. So, yeah, very simple and cheap setups, but work well (as I aimed for) and take me very little time to maintain.
@@ducdinh2040 what type of water do you start with?
@@M4RQE just tap water. However, the area I am living has only hard water, so I use Brita waterfilter to convert to soft water (we use such water for cooking anyway).
I think this is one of the greatest natural aquarium setups I've seen recently, buddy. Well done, also i love the voice over in this video.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
They'll eventually go after the Nerite Snails
Ok but where do you get so much plants ? They are expensive, in Belgium the smallest plant you show here already cost 5€, if I count everything you used it like 500€ of plants (minimum).
Big tanks cost big money. You can do smaller one or nano tank.
How wonderful and beautiful. You have given me so much info to work with. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much 🍃🍃🙌🏻🙏🏻
All that in only 30 days. Im impressed. ❤
❤️❤️
Very nicely done. I am pleased to see more and more people are going for low tech natural but beautiful aquariums.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
Beautiful Tank, top notch narration, feeling relaxed watching this video.
Thank you so much, I glad you like it 🙏🏻 I’m watching so many KZheadrs for a long long time and most of them doing amazing job 👏 Only my problem is their narration… Unnecessarily conversations makes me unfocus on what i watch and what is my reason to be in. That’s why i tried to do on this way and i want to keep like it.
very nice! its beautiful and cant wait to try it for myself using your techniques and advice! thanks for a great video!

What is the difference between a beautiful oil painting and this aquarium? I see hard work, experience, a lot of know-how and also artistic touch of designing the aquarium. I feel like this is also an art. It excites me to see how this wonderful aquarium made, thank you very much for this content 🙏
Thank you for your kind comment. Nature presents us with a complete art. An ecosystem where all living things coexist in harmony and balance. We’re trying to mimic a part of nature in our aquariums. Yes, I think it's a kind of art. 🖼️
This is a well done low tech aquarium one of the best i have ever seen so far💯👌👌 keep up the good work👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Where do you get so many plants ? These videos always forget to talk about that, and the amount of plant is the key of that method.
My comment keeps getting deleted, but just try at a local pond or stream. It’s for free THATS where I get all my plants just get one and keep propergating them
I bought these plants from my locak aquarium shop based in Türkiye.
@@peaceofnaturee That's crazy, even the biggest store in my town doesn't have so many plants in total 😞
@@truiteteam3428 did you not hear me… go to a stream or something and collect a few just as long as there abundant
Maybe you can try online because if they ship them to you, plants can survive in the bag long time.
