Wow, I've never seen another player use WALLS so successfully. Zugspitze defends his base, blocks multigunner-turrets, splits armies, blocks entrances and prevents enemy MCV from unpacking with it. Very inventive guy, I'm seriously impressed. Even more satisfying to see it counter those MCV pushes. Absolutely deserved win!
I like that DutchArmy play into the Armor Facility more often than an average allies player would
I think that's one of the his advantages of playing allies where everyone would expect cryo or turret pushes he can go off and play the longer game

Merry Christmas! 2022 will probably have fewer videos overall, but I'm planning on continuing if I can. There are a couple of really big projects coming up and if they go through I'll be gone for months at a time, so it's possible there will be dormant periods in the next year.

I'm really really liking these Allied armour plays, it's so cool to see! And the crazy walls, this is so awesome!
Zug was very impressive with the unit control and he has surpassed wallswag with his patented Great Wall strategy of walling during combat, also props to Sybert for finding the time for constant uploads as a family man during christmas.
He is a Chinese player, they certainly know how to build walls

I don't really know about Pro rules, Tournament rules or Metas, but might have putting turrets next to the refineries stopped the Tengus getting easy kills? They seemed to harass the miners unopposed. And sending your MCV to the front line, isn't that incredibly risky? Again, I don't know about the professional scene, so I may be missing a lot of rules, setting and what have you! (Sending a lone dog when the barracks was surrounded by Tengus?)

Once again, Dimon sold MCV - Dimon lost the game. That was clearly a move that got him to the loss. He needed expansions, he needed T3 and his own arty but that did not happen. Still a brilliant player, but sometimes he takes a risk that is not needed. Props to Zugspitze, haven't seen that guy for a long time. And two great games that were put. Awesome!

Ah man, I'm getting wound up watching Dimon hitting his head against Zugspitze, especially since he's probably the only chance of breaking Andrey. Just hold off the attack and bring some V4's. Don't throw the MCV away take more refineries and harass him. That Syckle corrosive bomb was amazing though. Edit: Congrats to Zurgs coming back to beat Andrey, nicely done

@@iblcigriga2759 можно было и так, можно было так как играл я, только качественно, можно по разному. Можно было отрезать ему 3ю рефу, убрать нефть и делать что хочу на лучшей экономике и контроле карты. Очень слабая игра с моей стороны.
@@dmitryn4869 Интересно было бы увидеть тот вариант игры потому, что я честно не уверен в советах, как во фракции, даже в долгой игре. С точки зрения шоу все любят смотреть на них, это понятно, но с точки зрения практичности они явно уступают другим сторонам. Видел не одну твою игру за советов, и не важно проигрывал ты или выигрывал, было видно что выкладываться приходится процентов на 10-15% больше, чем соперник. Андрей тоже например применял тактику раша против Империи (Цужспитце) и у Альянса все заходило куда проще из-за их мобильности и способностей. Но гг в любом случае. Вы лабаете круто.

I've been watching these videos for a while and to be honest even though Dimon is one of the best if not the best, the fact that he refuses to go tier 3 and get some artillery pisses me off lol. He could win against zugspitze really easily if he pumped out some v4 artillery and kept a defensive stance instead of constantly trying to push and win. It was great to watch, though.

Apparently it's an animation cancel. You can do the same thing with other units, but it has apparently been deemed a game breaking bug and banned from future tournaments because of these games.
@@OneSybert was happy that a new face won the tournament but sadly this means it was sort of illegitimate if that's the case :/ so many tengu engagements went way better than expected cause of it

I need to make a statement: I am watching this channel for maybe a few months, and by watching RA3 games I've made a few opinions/thoughts about the factions, players, playstyles etc. A lot of it changed after watching this tournament. To be honest I didn't like Zugspitze before, and I need to apologize him. He earned a TON of my respect after this series, by showing his skills and hard will in the games. I thought that Empire is as broken as Allies in terms of gameplay, and he showed me how much wrong I was. This series really shows how STUPID Allies advantage is, and how effective their attacks are with almost NO ECO. GG's to Dimon and Zugspitze for showing us great plays!

These games were played on Dec 18 2021, so they were only 6 days old when this video was published. There are still people playing RA3 and new tournaments every month. It's not a lot of people, but there's still a community.

No, not on this channel. I've done some work for SC2HL (most recently The Kings series from last year) and I casted for ASL and with feardragon for some of his stuff.
why do pro players never ever use sputnik or prospectors actively for expansion i wonder...
especially for allies, where moving the mcv means a total stop for production of higher tier units

Zugspitze used a not allowed Tangu BUG in the Games...Dimon has pointed that out in his games... the Tangus dont fly a curve they switch 180° to have an advantage over Apollos...but sill a great Wall strat. to push de ground play
To claim that Zug only won because of that is silly. I could abuse that same "bug" and I wouldn't beat Dimon.

Ahhh, sorry I was reading into your comment a little. To be fair it wasn't banned when this was played. I'm a little on the outside of all this but I'm not convinced that this is a game breaking bug that should be banned.
Andrey pulls some beautiful fights at the beginning, then resort to all cyro-turret push at the grand final? (Which is hilarious to watch btw) What a series. Zugspitze is really really deserved the championship.

Dimon would have a chance if mcv not at front. Sorry but i see mcv at front foolish. We have less expensive options. Edit. Andries stop the cryo rush it clearly doesn't work.
Dimon is very good at using his MCV as a battering ram that can absorb damage from enemy tanks to protect his own tanks/infantry from being targeted down

These games show how broken the game is. The factions have too different possibilities. Soviet side is useless. And Alliance can strangle the opponent at the beginning of the game.

Dimon was awful in this game, as compared to his usual performance.
Because you can play soviets only for fun. You won't do anything against strong players.
Sadly this was a waste of time. Still, big thanks for the players and organizers and Sybert for casting.
I personally think Bug alert 3 has an unbalanced setting: soviet > allies > empire > soviet. The empire faction has the units with most mobility. To exploit this, empire player can always choose large maps and hence its opponent can not easily move its forces both defensively and offensively. Whatever its opponent does, empire player can always change its move accordingly: if its opponent moves offensively, can just send some tangos and vx to its opponent's base to make economical harassment; If its opponent moves defensively, strategy is even easier, namely just tech up and expand. Soviet can expand quicker but in larger maps it is not easy to guard the infrastructure because hammer tanks are unable to move to the water and twin frog combo shows a less efficient exchange rate while encountering with vx and tango combo. Soviet's strength is hammer tanks and terror drones but they are not enough to balance out the disadvantages in terms of mobility while encountering with empire. Allies have advantages while encountering with empire but that is only true when the map is small. Because allies heavily relies on MCV and show worst expanding capabilities. Even though its Apollo and vindicator combo air superiority is far more efficient vs tango and vx combo, they are quite low in mobility because they have to refuel and reload ammo every time. Empire player can easily tickle this by simply spamming tangos and expand. What I want to see from the game is techniques( unit control and so on) rather than tricks ( to choose a map that is in favour of own faction and play with this advantage) Therefore, I think the most fair way to set the match is choose some maps that are in favour neither factions. I personally think infinity isle is the most fair map since it is perfectly symmetric and is in perfect size, neither too big nor too small. I watched the video and have noticed many strong features and techniques. Thank you casting this video and merry Christmas. This is just my opinion. I am sorry if I have offended anyone by that.
what are you smoking? Name a map that's smaller than infinity isle? Or name a played map that isn't symmetric? There are none. You have a point that RA3 isn't balanced properly and that certain maps favor certain factions, but you completely lost me in the end there.
