You are definitely right about that. I don't see what anyone sees in this guy, he's not a well rounded fighter at the very least, I see him losing his next bout as well if he doesn't make the necessary changes that he desperately needs.

Chris daukas doesn't need to be in the top 10 at all, he's not elite and he'll do fine against unranked opponents...this is the second fight in a row where he got KO'd

I used to train a their gym Martinez BJJ in Philly. It's primarily a grappling gym. The owner, Will Martinez, fought in bellatore and is a black belt under Carlos Machado. Chris's brother Kyle ran the kickboxing classes, which used to be affiliated with bang muay thai, and he trained with Duane Lidwig and was a way better striker than Chris. But that affiliation went away for reasons that I don't know. Also, Will took all of the bags down to make more room on the grappling mats. I just think that the gym started de-emphasizing striking, for whatever reason. I don't know that they can produce well-rounded fighters anymore. Will seems more passionate about coaching kids' classes and BJJ than he does about producing champions. If you live in Philly and you're looking to learn BJJ and get fit, go to Martinez BJJ. If you're looking to be world champion, you're gonna have to have 2 gyms.
He's not as athletic as these elite fighters. Hard for him to keep up.
Blaydes is the unsung hero of the hw division, he's been beating people up nonstop (unlucky w the two heavy hitters).

@@atillacnar5785 In fact, Curtis maybe the only one can catch up the speed and movement of Gane .Curtis is very fast and doesn't not as tired as Lewis or Francis.(They are most heavy puncher but lack of cardio in the middle and the end of fight and both of them got knee surgery it cause limited movement )

*VanguardMMA predicted the round 2 TKO.* Daukus had to go forward early, he missed his opportunity in round 1 and hesitated too much than he over thought it here and didn’t cut the angle right.

Daukus wouldnt win this fight even if they re did it 10 times. His got no muscle, no shoulders, no arms VSing a guy whose lean and heavier...
He got caught early in round 1 with a huge right cross from Curtis that made him be a lot more cautious. He came out early in the first round and started aggressive until then
His corner told him to rush Blaydes, if he played it safe like round 1 maybe he would do just fine.

I don't understand how anyone ever counted Blaydes out as is he's been on a decline. He only has 3 losses and 2 of them are from Ngannou. He definitely belongs at the top of the division. He's also beaten a who's who of HW contenders and former champs

His losses outside of the UFC were by KO as well. But I think hes too small for HW. He could get rid of a lot of fat and not be 230 getting hit by monstrous 265 pound guys

@Anthony I went to balance for a couple months. But, they had some bully-ass dude there that basically tried to fight me on the mat. His cauliflower ear would bleed and he wouldn't try to stop to clean it. He was trying to bully me from top half guard one day and I put him in lockdown and he tried elbowing me in the damn face. Phil Migliarese was there that day and intervened. But I left that gym after that. I wish I didn't have to. But I didn't want to see that guy again. That was the worst experience and the closest I came to a real fight that I ever had in bjj gyms.

A gatekeeper is just a someone who fighters have to go through in order to get a contender bout, someone just below the top 5 usually. So no shame in losing to Blaydes really, it's heavyweight mma anyone can be kod at any time

Man, Herb is always late on the stoppages. Either that or the other way around. Even if by 1 strike, that's a strike that you don't have to take that could really change you permanently. I would not want Herb reffing my fights.
You think its so easy then go be a ref cause it's hard to know when to stop a fight, especially when he's still fighting and councious. So many mma fighters would want the ref to keep it going.
