Biggest population and Biggest trouble makers and less revenue generated for country then asking for all these development. Solomon Islands is consist of 9 provinces and not Malaita alone. So why would the government be focusing on Malaita alone? Stop depending on the national government, instead depend on your own provincial government to develop your province. That's how we should develop our provinces.

I think the government is more than willing to develop Malaita, but Land dispute is an issue for for Malaita Province.

The key question to ask is- what are the key economic catalysts that can trigger such development. Development is determined by mobilization of industrial resources into economic value assets, and it's long-term sustainability. The art and tact required is enormous and challenges the social fabrics of the society against elements of corruption that leech on public utilities, the ethnic difference and challenges, the pool of natural resources, etc. I believe the core issue is to do with alignment of governance framework, social and cultural elements with the development resources of the country at large, and not just Malaita province.

Your point of view is great, but looking at the population today of solomon Islands, not only Malaita province has the biggest population but likely to other provinces have grown in population too so if we want to solve the problems of our country I give my point of view of what is our national anthem mean to us good people of solomon islands. And if the government concentrate on developing one side then others will have the same problem too. But anyway we all want solomon Island to developing but it all depends on our attitudes towards our neighbors, towards our mother land, etc.

Solomon Island development status is very low and we cannot make domestic comparison on this issue.There is no other province apart from Honiara except for western and guale province who acquired some sort of economical advantage but that doesn't mean they are well off neither they also faced challenges the whole country experienced. We should remember that SIG itself does not have the capacity to fund its development aspiration and will need foreign investors and institutions.Hence we have no control over how this foreign donors decides their fund they have their own criteria's.What is in our control is to allow our resources when it is neccessary. If only SIG has enough money to fund our development,then maybe we can give patient and leniency with land dispute but not to foreign donor. I thinks thats the issues,we need to be financially indepedent to achieve maximun development to our beatiful country😢

The biggest island of the Solomon chain is Bougainville, when civilization reached the Solomon’s and PNG it first happened in your so called Solomon’s “Western Block”, the first people to gain Civilization in the Solomon’s were the Bougainvilians and Shortland Islanders, in the 1800s the Shortland Islanders already had an international port and already travelled to Australia and Europe, they already spoke German and English and wore clothes and shoes, they read and wrote and were literate whilst the other parts of the Solomon’s such as Malaita and Guadalcanal still wore kabilatos. In the 1800s the Shortland islands and Bougainville and Choiseul policemen were sent over to police American Samoa, they had guns and were literate, during this time all of Solomon’s were still in a kabilato. It is only after the tripartite agreement splitting a Border between Bougainville and Shortlands and Choiseul that people and civilization and development had to spread back towards Guadalcanal after WW2. Read up and understand why there is an ongoing racism against the Western Solomon Islanders, this is because they are far more advanced in terms of thinking due to civilization reaching them first. Malaita is not Solomon Islands, get your head looked at. Malaita is more of the problem of the Solomon Islands if there continues to be people who think like you and have no understanding of Solomon history. Malaita is NOT Solomon Islands, until you understand that you will never realize the potential of Solomon Islands.

How can we dream about solving Malaita's problem by demanding developments as mentioned when land disputes from within Malaita is the big problem itself. Then how can we become independent? If we want those developments, lets start it ourselves, supported by provincial government. Those developments are costly, other provinces like Western and Guadalcanal contributed so much more than Malaita in terms of revenue. Distribution of wealth has to be fair. But lets get back to basics, open up your resources, settle yourselves with all the land disputes to pave way for such development aspirations.
