He is a legitimate rising talent for sure, but based on the quality of the card overall, this is absolutely a prelim.

He is bringing an entirely new audience to the ufc. He absolutely deserves the spot. He is bringing new money in and expanding the business, while the other fighters are only bringing in people WHO WILL ALREADY BE THERE. So yes it’s business. And yea he deserves it.

Absolute can crusher. DC fought Frank Mir, Dan Henderson as his first two fights in the UFC. This dude is so sheltered. The UFC is building him but he needs to fight the real fights. Soon, I guess.
DC already had 8 strikeforce fights before joining the UFC. BO had to ammy fights and one pro fight before going on contender series. He was still wrestling full time up until the 2021 Olympic trials. The UFC was the only way he could actually get opponents so that he could get some experience. He’s only been training MMA less than three years
Nah some adveristy here would be a bad look people would say he got fraud checked even if he wins. Brundage is the type of guy that Bo should run through and even then some people will doubt him.
I he gets over this hurdle the UFC is going to finally give him a real challenge. Rumors have it that he will fight CM Punk.

Anything is possible but Bo will take the fight to the ground in the first 30 seconds where Cody doesn't stand a chance. Bo's not going to risk getting caught on the chin.

Why is he on the main card exactly? I don't understand. No one else would get this treatment. Cause he's a Big name in the wrestling community? Does that really make this big difference numbers wise?? I mean wrestling is hardly a mainstream sport I'd never see it on TV or anything growing up. I imagine most people outside the wrestling community don't know who he is. His first opponent Jamie Pickett didn't know who he was. Which seems completely understandable.

Many others get special treatment, it's how it goes if the name is meaningful enough He's not just a big name in the wrestling community, he is one of the best college wrestlers to have ever done it.. For perspective, he was winning national championships pinning people who would be considered "elite wrestling background" in the MMA community, he did it with a style that not many were doing, he became more of a household name than you realize.. MMA is not a mainstream either, however in the last 5 years wrestling has become mainstream. Pretty much the entire NCAA tournament is aired on ESPN networks with the semi-finals and finals in primetime.

Collegiate wrestling doesn't exactly transfer to an MMA fight there are a ton of aspects to fighting and he needs to be brought up. Omalley fought cans forever and look at him now

Nickel vs Brundage WILL be a good fight and test for Bo. He’s on the right path and steadily getting better competition. The trajectory is starting to feel a bit like Jon Jones in terms of fighting.
I hope Bo dominates. This fight will have more eyes on it than all of his fights combined. Show the world who is coming.

I’ve been following the UFC/Mma closely for about 10 years and will now be purchasing my first UFC pay-per-view due to this fight alone. Bo is a savage and he is bringing so many new eyes to the sport. For that reason alone is why they have him on the main card. The UFC knows what they’re doing.

@@T-800skynett Khamzat wouldn't be able to take Bo down if his life depended on it.. He got a couple take towns on Usman who came off the couch on a week's notice.. Check out Usman's wrestling accomplishments compared to Bo's.. not even in the same stratosphere.. Bo was an olympic alternate, lost to the eventual 86kg gold medalist at US trials in close matches. Khamzat was wrestling pedestrians in Sweden, if you don't believe me watch his actual freestyle rules wrestling match with jack hermansson, very unimpressive...
