I love to watch the Toy Spring "Slinky" shimmer, but I'm too lazy to do it myself.

    • @@squirrelsimon2540 WIRED magazine did an article about it. Specifically neurophysiologists in the Netherlands set up wheels, cameras, and a small amount of food near the wheels. The results squeak for themselves.

    • @@nowacurmudgeon Well i suppose so, but a Hamster running on a wheel at full speed would still generate very little electricity, not to mention im sure the added equipment to convert that rotational force to electricity would make it harder for the hamster to push the wheel. Also it would of course be highly unethical to force a bunch of hamsters to run on wheels to generate electricity.

  • Don’t forget to tension your belts and weigh down or bolt down your mechanisms for optimal efficiency, also grease gears to reduce friction. For most people I think a motor would be more efficient than a hamster wheel
