I think Cressida is jealous of how close Penelope is with the Bridgerton Boys while she is trying too hard to fit in society. She treats people like they are beneath her because she has no real friends or personality because of how much of bully she is. The men she tries to get with obviously see right through her fakeness and conniving ways. She is jealous because pen doesn't have to try and people gravitate to her naturally even if they seem not to notice her and if pen put herself out in society since her 1st season i believe pen would have scored a husband way before Cressida if she wasn't Colin Crazed.

Honestly realistically I think Cressida would have been married off already in season one. She’s beautiful, charismatic and her mom proved to be tactful when putting her with suitors. Her family is also very wealthy, if it weren’t for the plot she’d already be pregnant.
SERIOUSLY! Apparently she was far worse in the books, but she’s genuinely one of my favorites from the show. Home girl deserves a redemption arc
The least realistic thing in the whole show 😅 cowbag or not, she'd have been snapped up in Season 1.
Maybe the character shinies through and the suitors recognise it. Also she may have incredibly high standards. If a prince was possible at a point... Then why downgrade?

I think this is the season Cressida gets married. Don’t know if the series will follow the book narrative, but in the books she somehow got what she deserved for treating Pen poorly, by marrying an old man. Still she’s an interesting character for me and I would be tempted to see a different approach on her as the seasons proceed

The mention of a 3rd season is a HUGE BARB. Most families struggled to finance a second season for a daughter. Especially because it would essentially steal from the budget of any subsequent sisters or even her own dowry. Most daughters would be cut off from the marriage season after a second, and almost all after a third. Even as an only daughter or child. Any subsequent marriage would be much less social and much more arranged even than this. BUT most would be labeled a spinster if they failed a 3rd season.
She is an only child and her family is loaded I think.

A lot of what we get about Cressida (in the show) is surface level superficial mean girl for-no-reason type of person. Unless we get a backstory to her life and family, she will remain surface level mean girl. But I bet there’s something there; I hear that bullies are just hurt people with a mask on. I don’t hate Cressida, I just hope one day she learns that having her money status won’t always make her character likeable. I am voting for a redemption arc and back story! Make me feel sorry for this lady! 😅

You would think that Cressida might get a pro tip from somebody who has successfully married (e.g. Daphne) that being a vicious b---- is a deterrent to men of rank who aren't desperately in need of her dowry like Jack Featherington was. This was discussed as far back as S1 when Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury were in agreement that Cressida was ill-served by treating her malicious mother as a role model for how a lady should behave.

Like, Cressida strikes me as the type of gay gal who LIVES in the closet and would be with women on the down-low, but NEVER find the courage to step out of society to live her truth (which is understandable) and then she has to live with her regret. Okay this is all just fan theory and definitely not canon and I doubt Netflix would go there but it's a great idea for fan fiction maybe? ❤

Would not surprise me if they made her and Eloise secret lovers. That would explain why she is still without any proposals in her 3rd season out, she’s trying to find a match that will allow her to live as she pleases with the safety of marriage. Perhaps that’s why we see her snuggling up to Lord Weatherby ( who is in love with the artist friend of Benedict) in season 2?

@ELMICH31 During that time frame, most men hardly ever claimed their illegitimate children. So if she is her half sister, or step sister, then she could claim to be an only child. There are even images of Lady Cowper's husband, I believe, as well, and we never see him. Unless Sophie works with the other women that they keep showing Benedict with, but he would have to meet her soon, I would think, or hope. If they set him for season four, hopefully they at least meet in season three. Even if meeting her would be a quick interaction, where he wasn't paying attention. I get carried away, lol, and I am probably really off with the guessing, but it's fun to do.

no, if you want to see "new money fashion" look to the featheringtons, its made well known that their mother seeks the brightest and loudest and most textured cloth and most of the time they are the cheapest the modiste has to offer, its why pen and her sisters look horrendous in their gowns and its why pen blends in so well, most scenes have yellow hue, especially ball room scenes so when pen gets her info if you watch the background youll see her in the corner or behind someone or even walking past in the distance, however in s3 she moves out of the featherington home and uses her funds as lady whistledown and changes her known orange and yellow color pallet for more muted and calmer tones, blues, green's and ever soft pinks, she is dressing her station and dressing it well, cressida's dressings is meant for her to stand out, her hair is always in some off fashion with loops, twists, braids and such with jewels and bobbles in her hair but most of the time they design her looks to resemble that of a bird/hen and during this time "chick" and "hen" were very popular to describe a "gaggle" of young debutants and being the "mean" popular girl she is meant to look over the top and outlandish to make her seem apart of the crowd but also not its interesting to look at the dresses and colors and even hair do's or how a character is seen in said scenes that really tells the story!
